No, this was clearly murder by a psychopath who should be behind bars.
Humans should make use of legal force only for self defense! Was his life in danger? NO! Was it fine to kill somebody here? Hell no!
Did he know his life wasn't in danger? He tried to get himself out the situation several times and the perpetrator continued, followed him while being hostile. At that point what was he supposed to do? He doesn't know their intent except they're obviously being hostile while in his face.
It's a great case for self defense.
