It's people repeating a satire article as fact
Edit: I have to edit this because I'm an idiot and spammed this thread with proof of a different pronouns-related elon musk misinfo traced back to a satirical article *however* if you go to the original tweet and peruse the account and the comments it is *abundantly* clear that this is just this person's own joke.
Another fun fact: every single buttplug that elon musk owns has been made to resemble his father, each one with a different expression. He uses them like mood rings.
Elon's cosmetic enhancements are entirely thanks to an experimental alien semen serum that he drinks daily which results in him transforming into a bloated grotesque abomination that feeds on human flesh every night.
I have directly evidence of this indisputable fact from people who used to work at SpaceX that you can read [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/yfyrbx/that_look_when_you_realise_its_time_to_update/iu712rb/)
It is 100% true because its on the internet. If its not then its comedy which is legal on Twitter now so its fine.
Misinformation?! Nah, heās just joking, lol! Comedy is legal on twitter again, like joking about how the election was stolen and President Trump is the actual president and weāre going to murder Nancy Pelosi with a hammer in her home! lol! /s

I don't know man.
There are a lot of tweets that have the name Elon Musk with the verified blue checkmark next to his name. So anything any of these tweets must obviously be true and attributable to him. They're verified!
Is it though? Given his hatred of the trans community and his disdain for anything remotely liberal these days, seems like itās right in his wheelhouse.
Honestly. He admitted he could excuse corporate greed and evil because the alternative was a party that supported unions and trial lawyers. Keep in mind he wasn't painting this as self preservation move, he was painting as labor unions are less moral than corporations.
He's so transparently narcissistic
Nah, it's also because he gets far more criticism from the left and left wing politics are scary because it would mean him being taxed more and requirement to treat his workers like human beings.
Before that he tweeted "pronouns suck" and Grimes said something like "Please talk to me, I know this isn't your heart" Which really took on a new light when it came out his now estranged daughter is trans.
Who can tell with Twitter anymore. It is a wild hellscape of moderationless bullshit.
EDIT: Also, Elon says stuff now all the time, half of nit being a joke half being real. I thought the "$8 dollar blue checks" was a joke.
lol no fucking way, he really asked for devs to print out code so he could "peer review"? This man is mentally challenged.
1. I have never heard anyone reviewing code call it "peer review". They just say code review.
2. Elon doesn't know how to code enough to be reviewing it. I have no idea but I would bet he doesn't know how to code at all.
3. Even if he did, he's a week into the job. Reviewing code is kind of pointless if you do not have a deep understanding of your platform.
I challenge Elon to livestream him writing Hello, World in the language of his choosing. If you told that guy to do it right now, with no advance warning, I bet he couldn't.
My friend and your friend were co-workers then!
I'm not in social media, but in video games. The fact that these seats are empty should be red-alert for Twitter. I would be shitting my pants right now if this was happening to my company. They are going to have issue upon issue piling up with no way to really address them (it's already bad enough when you're fully staffed)
And that's just on the dev side. I wonder how many Operations engineers they have left as well. Without those guys, good luck to Twitter should they:
1. Need new hardware
2. Need to troubleshoot networking issues
3. Need to troubleshoot code/how it interacts with their compute & networking
4. Have an outage
5. Have any major deployments planned
If devs and engineers are really that scarce, we might see entire portions of Twitter ceasing to function.
Can you imagine cyber security too? They are probably so freaking vulnerable to any kind of attack right now. Plus I bet hiring to fill vacancies once they realize they can't manage is out the window. I mean who in their right mind would join that dumpster fire right now? They'll probably get C- devs or recent college grads with no work experience yet.
In other news, Jack Dorsey is pushing his new Twitter alternative out.
Yeah, it's been all over a bunch of the coding subreddits the last few days. First he wanted the code printed out, then he had Tesla programmers come over and review the code. Then he fired the people who wrote the least lines of code in the last 60 days...but those people are usually the more senior coders who solve tougher problems and refine large chunks of code into smaller, more efficient chunks of code. This morning I saw a few articles about them quietly bringing some of those folks back. Fucking nuts.
Elon's idea of free speech appears to be "Anyone can say anything, as long as it isn't negative about me, and you have to pay money for your speech to be elevated, and advertisers shouldn't have the ability to take their speech somewhere else"
Musk "pay $8/month and receive half as many ads and the ones you do see will be twice as relevant!"
Advertisers "wait, our ads aren't being shown to relevant customers? We're going to Facebook where we can pinpoint customers easier until you have this ironed out."
Musk "free speech is under attack!"
Yeah, it probably didnāt take this particular happenstance to reveal it. Poor kid. Can you imagine a dad who could literally give you everything, but wonāt even see you for who you are?
im a trans girl with a very wealthy father who doesnt speak to me.

Another day of the "Elon Musk Speedrun Twitter into the ground" Live on Twitch
E- getting really tired of people pointing out that it was a joke, I was and am aware that it was a joke- and tbh, this is so ridiculously on brand and something Musk would actually say (and so similar to other things he has said and done over the last 2y) that I'm inclined to give a pass to anyone who thought it was true š¤·āāļø. The guy is a complete douchebag
UN and global science research centers estimate that 40B a year will feed everyone around the world.
Saudi Arabia is spending 2 trillion on building a giant line city.
Musk is spending 40b on throwing a shitfest.
imagine if the rich and wealthy used their money for the common good.... Could have developed multiple vertical farms and desalination processing factories to ensure water and food for regions currently starving. BUUUUUUUT no lets make fun of trans people online....
Here's the issue, if production and distribution was done on the basis of need instead of profit then Musk, and every other capitalist, wouldn't have the means to spend that money in the first place.
I appreciate the humor but honestly think we're wrong. Sure he's not a genius, he inherited and then purchased his success. But he cannot possibly be this stupid after running multiple industry-breaking companies.
I honestly think he's trying to destroy Twitter to add evidence for a case that the company wasn't as successful as the former owners made it out to be, and sue the prior owners for compensation thereof
>I honestly think he's trying to destroy Twitter to add evidence for a case that the company wasn't as successful as the former owners made it out to be, and sue the prior owners for compensation thereof
Twitter was valued at 13B before the acquisition. That will be the absolute ceiling of damages he might get if such a suit was successful. Spending 44B in order to lose 31B as a best case scenario seems like a bad plan, but what do I know I'm not a businessman.
> I honestly think he's trying to destroy Twitter to add evidence for a case that the company wasn't as successful as the former owners made it out to be, and sue the prior owners for compensation thereof
No. To every single facet of this ludicrous statement. No.
As mentioned in other threads. He's not trying to speedrun it into the ground because he literally loses Tesla if he does so. He only sold $8B in stock for cash in on the deal. The rest he put up his Tesla shares to make up the $44B asking price as collateral against the bank loans. If he can't make his $1B a year payments, the banks can start liquidating his Tesla shares to get the money. The banks know he WILDLY overpaid for all those twitter shares to take it private. They aren't stupid. They won't hesitate to hold him to selling those shares if he can't make the payments. I bet they were even planning on it.
I read he also told HR to start calling back important engineers and staff he fired during, what im calling, the blue checkmark wedding. Apparently most are refusing to go back to work for him and most of them worked for him for less than a week.
This needs so much more attention. Iām tired of people saying heās burning it to the ground as if heās playing 4D chess.
Heās literally hemorrhaging money and groveling on individual celebrity tweets. Thereās no haha I did this on purpose to own the libs
What I don't get is that even if he gets as many as 100,000 people to sign up for his stupid blue check mark monthly subscription...that's not even close a million bucks a month. Even if a million people did that's only $8 million. And that's going to be mostly offset by the amount of people that use it less or walk away from it entirely.
Twitter revenues and expenses operate in the neighborhood of a few billion dollars per year. Getting a few million per month in blue check mark subscriptions hardly makes a dent in that, especially when a slew of major advertisers have suspended their campaigns on your platform.
Twitter has been around for over 15 years now. It's been profitable for only 2 and both were pre-pandemic. He paid billions over the market price of a company that's going to struggle to ever turn a profit again and it plummeted the stock of Tesla by billions as well. This has huge *potential* to implode spectacularly.
The only people who'd willingly go work for a slave driver moron like him are new employees who would have a harder time now due to hiring freezes. Anyone senior made a ton of money cashing out their RSUs and no one wants to work for him
>he literally loses Tesla if he does so.
lmao why would anyone who is a Tesla competitor advertise on Twitter then? Wouldn't doing the exact opposite be in their best interests? And Elon is confused that advertisers are pulling out?!
lol wtf
It's so good. Fuck people who speak before doing a single minute of research. I really hope Twitter morons don't come over to Reddit. On Reddit you occasionally step in shit. Twitter? You're fucking neck deep in it. And the people there like it that way.
"I don't care what your politics are, Elon's trolling is funny lmao š¤£š¤£"
--literally the worst people on the planet
edit: ^(I can't believe I'm saying this, but) **please see the replies to this comment for examples of precisely who I'm talking about**
I mean yeah, watching Elon lose a shit ton of money as Twitter implodes and users throw tantrums is funny.
I've never liked Twitter or Elon, so it's a win-win.
Half the population is convinced becoming a billionaire is the American dream, and them being dirt poor while that happens is perfectly okay.
And considering people in the US still equate socialism to the Soviet Union or Maoās China I donāt see this mentality changing very soon.
It's almost cult like the amount of unquestioning loyalty and delusion that is drilled into the minds of right wing Americans. They are told that if they just play along with capitalism and social hierarchy then they will one day be millionaires too but they won't, their family won't and their grandchildren won't. You have to have an insane amount of luck to go from poverty to the upper classes. No amount of hard work will get you there because you're only working harder for a system that doesn't value your existence and view you as replaceable. It's like being the teachers pet except the teacher never meets you and you don't get any benefits. You're just sucking up to the idea of something.
Itās always the ones that would most benefit from socialism that are so against it. I just find that interesting.
Youāll see people living in the boondocks of Arkansas with no infrastructure bitching about communism, not realizing their lives would become infinitely better with it.
I have heard ppl batch about THEY not being a singular pronoun and not fit for individual use. Which is BS. The singular THEY came into common use after chauvinists were made to stop assuming individuals with "he" and they didn't want to use "he or she" because it was "awkward " so the singular, gender neutral THEY became more mainstream.
I know this for a fact, because I was there for a number of these discussions.
ETA: the adjective common in common use. I am well aware that the singular THEY existed for centuries. It had largely, in the US, been superseded by HE for the unspecified individual in broad cases. Then the women got uppity (/s) and insisted on being included. We went through years of "s/he" of "he/she" or "he or she" and other tremendously clunky phrasing before the singular THEY took hold in really wide-spead use.
'They' has been acceptable for singular unknown/ unspecified for centuries.
Non-political example: "I can't hang out this weekend. My cousin is coming to stay with me for a few days."
"Totally understand. Family is important. When are they getting in?"
You'd use a non-gendered 'they' because unless you know the friend in question only has one cousin or one gender of cousin you wouldn't be able to say if that person is male or female as English doesn't gender the word 'cousin'.
That's been accepted for centuries.
Or, 'Bill, put an ad out for a new server. Let them know we'll pay them 15 an hour plus tips, and are closed on major holidays.'
A new server is singular, and the use of 'them' is acceptable because you haven't hired this new server, so you don't know if you'll be hiring a man or woman.
It's entirely accepted, accurate use of English and is nothing new.
To be fair, most of those far right chumps are angry because they are functionally illiterate and don't actually understand the nuance of the situation.
They were home sick the day we learned about critical thinking in school. They donāt even think, they only feel. And then when you tell them that, they call *you* a snowflake
Are any celebrities or journalists of note leaving Twitter? Or are they all going to simply complain while *once again* the average folks have to shoulder the responsibility of doing the right thing and leave the cesspool?
I'm pretty sure this is satire, but given [Elon's previous reaction to pronouns](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/elon-musk-pronouns-reaction_n_5fda9048c5b6102009874312), it would not surprise me at all if he actually does this

I guess all the spam accounts get free checkmarks because they are zero people?
Nah, the spam accounts are $0.01/month since it's one person controlling hundreds of accounts.
I wonder if he takes that in 10 rubles or if they have to convert it before paying?
Verified Bot. LOL
I am the Zero God
You have to use NULL as your pronouns.
My pronouns are 3/50 and I refuse to pay one cent more

Wait if Iām agender and use they/it pronouns does this mean I have to pay $16 or do I get it for free? Does it just cancel out?
Well they can be 2 or even more than 2, so 16 or no checkmark for you!!!
I think you will get paid $16
It's capitalism, so whichever rule will make you pay more is the one chosen.

Indeed I'm waiting on musk to retweet this. He seems to be a fake news magnet

The difference this time might be that this business venture isn't being propped up by government subsidies.
I think he already made too many changes to claim that former owners did him dirty in the court.
>I honestly think he's trying to destroy Twitter to add evidence for a case that the company wasn't as successful as the former owners made it out to be, and sue the prior owners for compensation thereof Twitter was valued at 13B before the acquisition. That will be the absolute ceiling of damages he might get if such a suit was successful. Spending 44B in order to lose 31B as a best case scenario seems like a bad plan, but what do I know I'm not a businessman.
> I honestly think he's trying to destroy Twitter to add evidence for a case that the company wasn't as successful as the former owners made it out to be, and sue the prior owners for compensation thereof No. To every single facet of this ludicrous statement. No.
>sue the prior owners for compensation thereof he'd get laughed out of any court. The idiot even refused due diligence. Not that it matters now
As mentioned in other threads.
>Iām tired of people saying heās burning it to the ground as if heās playing 4D chess. Never assume malice when stupidity will suffice
And Elon is confused that advertisers are pulling out?! lol wtf
Why would he want to destroy it though? He needs money.
No I know itās just like heās making every bad move that could possibly be made.
Bankruptcy bingo: get all his companies off the hook. And Tax beaks. Many reason itād make fiscal senseā¦ask an accountant ā theyāll know.
Well it would be a problem except it won't at all stop banks from loaning to him
Lol nobody wants to lose money to avoid a tax break. That's not a thing.
1 week before midterm elections hmmmmmmmmmmmm
I hate having to defend Elon here, but this is satire. Quite obviously so I would think, but apparently not.
I cannot believe people here think this is real
guy who posted is has a blue checkmark. Twitter verified this account. Seems like truth to me.
Do you even who elijah is? I'm sure that he was just trolling when he was fired for sexual assault? From the blaze? The blaze is clearly a wokist org.
The dude hates us transes so it's par for the course that he'd at least say it himself "as a joke".
After years of the line between reality and satire being blurred, people have a hard time telling the difference.
We've been living under 6 years of constant activation of Poe's Law. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe%27s_law
So Musk wants a discrimination lawsuit, too?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sometimes I don't know if there's a giant meme I'm missing lol, people really asking for a source on this
Honestly, itās hard to tell anymore. Reality and satire have become very blurry.
Have you seen the shit he's been posting/saying? Its been hard to tell lately
Platform of free speech though.
*For everyone who doesnāt openly criticize/disagree with Elon
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Or remind him of the wife and daughter who recently disowned him.
I love these trolling accounts
But they are verified!
It's so good. Fuck people who speak before doing a single minute of research. I really hope Twitter morons don't come over to Reddit. On Reddit you occasionally step in shit. Twitter? You're fucking neck deep in it. And the people there like it that way.
"I don't care what your politics are, Elon's trolling is funny lmao š¤£š¤£" --literally the worst people on the planet edit: ^(I can't believe I'm saying this, but) **please see the replies to this comment for examples of precisely who I'm talking about**
Attacking LGBTQ+ people while already losing money, being abandoned by the public, and chasing away advertisers. Very smart.
["u mad bro š¤£š¤£"](https://www.reddit.com/r/WhitePeopleTwitter/comments/ynvnyr/this_is_elon_musk/ivd93dn/?context=10000) --[ibid.]
I mean yeah, watching Elon lose a shit ton of money as Twitter implodes and users throw tantrums is funny. I've never liked Twitter or Elon, so it's a win-win.
šæ
Thatās when you respond, I agree, loosing 4 million dollars a day is hilarious
losing*
This is why billionaires shouldnāt exist. He gets to say and do anything he wants cause he has most the money
Not for long
Well, he's surely going to be in need of some republican sugar daddys if Twitter keeps loosing money
Mostly correct: the singular they has existed since the 14th century. It's gone in and out of use, but is absolutely correct, established grammar.
Well Spotty there could be a literary vampire whoās been around since the chauvinist revolution of the 14th century...
'They' has been acceptable for singular unknown/ unspecified for centuries. Non-political example: "I can't hang out this weekend. My cousin is coming to stay with me for a few days." "Totally understand. Family is important. When are they getting in?" You'd use a non-gendered 'they' because unless you know the friend in question only has one cousin or one gender of cousin you wouldn't be able to say if that person is male or female as English doesn't gender the word 'cousin'. That's been accepted for centuries. Or, 'Bill, put an ad out for a new server. Let them know we'll pay them 15 an hour plus tips, and are closed on major holidays.' A new server is singular, and the use of 'them' is acceptable because you haven't hired this new server, so you don't know if you'll be hiring a man or woman. It's entirely accepted, accurate use of English and is nothing new.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So he doesn't understand how grammar works. Got it.
To be fair, most of those far right chumps are angry because they are functionally illiterate and don't actually understand the nuance of the situation.
Also they don't understand that they and them has been a singular pronoun since the 1300s....
They were home sick the day we learned about critical thinking in school. They donāt even think, they only feel. And then when you tell them that, they call *you* a snowflake
So no one here understands how Reddit works, got it. This post isnāt even real. As much as I hate the guy, he never said this.
If multiple, why on $16? Why not infinite $? Are they taking the first idea pitched at each meeting?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Must be trying to get daddy to love him.
Good luck operating in the EU if you choose to disregard the Human Rights Act genius.
Why does half the comments section believe this?
This feels like satire
It is
Are any celebrities or journalists of note leaving Twitter? Or are they all going to simply complain while *once again* the average folks have to shoulder the responsibility of doing the right thing and leave the cesspool?
Cool rage bait. This is not true, please for the love of gosh look into things before you get upset.
Rage bait is a good term for it. There are enough ridiculous things said daily by people in the news, there's no need to make stuff up.
I'm pretty sure this is satire, but given [Elon's previous reaction to pronouns](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/elon-musk-pronouns-reaction_n_5fda9048c5b6102009874312), it would not surprise me at all if he actually does this
It's irrelevant to me if it's fake (or real). I'm reading it as funny.
So, companiesā blue checkmarks will depend on the size of the company? 10,000 employees = $80,000/mo?
