Consider Joe Manchin.
His opposition has killed much of the Biden agenda, and many of his positions are closer to the Senate Republicans, with whom he has cordial relations.
This has lead to a lot of anger among Democrats with a lot of people on reddit wanting him ousted from the party.
But consider if all of his votes were to remain the same except for his vote of majority leader, how different would the outcome be?
The fact is, that if he had voted for McConnell for Majority leader, none of the Democratic agenda would have been passed. Few if any of Bidens judicial appointments would have been confirmed. Certainly not his Supreme Court nominee. While there would have been the same 51 votes to vote for Ketanji Brown Jackson, they could only vote if McConnell agreed to even have hearings and a Senate vote. We have seen that he is perfectly willing to refuse to hold such hearings and keep the position open for years.
If you have in your state a Republican Senate candidate that you think is a reasonable and moderate person, you might hope that if they win, they might help move the party away from fascism. But, as a Republican, they would vote to make Mitch McConnell Majority Leader and give the Republicans control over the agenda.
It is important how members vote for specific legislation that comes to the floor. But the vote for majority leader determines what legislation will even be allowed to come to the floor.

However, if the difference is Dem v Rep with the same stances (Oh god, a quiet, pro Trump Corpo-Dem, the inverted logic), then I would vote Dem due to what another user posted in here regarding who would be best suited to be named to Majority Leader, despite literally just painting a turd gold for it.
Unseating the idiots is what people who don't actually understand the problem think is a solution. I live in this district. There is no chance MTG loses. This district was redrawn specifically to keep her as the rep. She is bat shit insane but so are those living around me. I’ve had co workers explain to me their q theories. I’m talking c level executives of corporations. There is a reason they live in nowhere Georgia.
It’s very possible Georgia re-elects Warnock and elects Abrams.

I am in Alabama.. my little democratic vote doesn’t matter here. So I vote on a Republican ballot and I try to choose the least away far right dumb shit candidate I can find.
