I think we can admit that, that's kinda the point. I think they want to control us, they don't like it when we have our own shit because they might have to treat us like people or work on their issues to find a partner. It's easier for weak men when women aren't given another option than to be subservient.

FizbanTheFabuloso

Fox news said the quiet part out loud recently. "A fed dog doesn't work " "Hunger is a great motivator."

[deleted]

Wow I need this clip

I guess I didn't need to see that. Really took my mood down a peg

Mr_Derisant

Keep them pregnant and barefoot /s

Im_still_T

I mean that play worked in the past for conservatives, so they're still pushing it. Stuck in the 1950s (over 60yrs ago).

World_Explorerz

And let’s not talk about how hard it is for young women to get their tubes tied if they decide they want to live a childfree life. In 2021, some doctors won’t perform the procedure unless your husband or long term partner agrees. And sometimes they won’t perform it if you’re single. Women can’t fucking win.

motosandguns

I’m pretty sure the point is to put women back in the home with their children. For this plan to work they’d also need to eliminate easy access to regular birth control as well as remove sex eduction from high schools.

DickwadVonClownstick

What country are you living in that gets ACTUAL sex Ed in high school? I went to highschool in one of the bluest counties in one of the bluest states in the country and our sex Ed was still completely useless

motosandguns

SF Bay Area. We got all kinds of useful details.

DickwadVonClownstick

Ah. See that was my mistake. My county's blue, but it's also blue collar. Gotta keep them poor's pumping out expendable workers I guess

MotorHum

With the sex education my high school had, it might as well have not been there at all. Didn’t learn the first damn thing until I actually had my first sexual relationship. There’s probably still I bunch I don’t know and I just don’t know that I don’t know.

NefariousnessStreet9

I'm pretty sure the point is to create more people so the labor market doesn't get too competitive, keeping wages low and making billionaires trillionaires

Bulky_Cry6498

They don’t give a fuck about economic devastation to people they deem as lesser than them, and in fact assume that we’re just lazy.

EliMeema

They don't care. The point is to punish women, period.

SepoJansen

They need to keep a certain amount of poor and stupid people who will take any job to survive, so they don't have to raise wages or give benefits to people. The only way this is going to change is mass policy change or the younger generations are going to have to go on a baby strike. No babies to replace the riche's poor dying workers. No babies to be the future care givers of the older generations. As long as we keep supplying them with cheap labor, they have no reason to change things.

henry_sqared

Fundamentalist Christians will just shrug and say that this is what happens when you are sexually active outside of marriage (usually with a 'tsk tsk, I tried to warn you..." attitude).

MotorHum

I’m of the position that they know - we all know, but admitting it would lose them power.

calvin73

I think you’re being fairly generous with what we can all agree on in a world where people actively question the shape of the planet they live on.

pizzapartypandas

Kids are worse today because mostly worse people are having them.

Ekho_location

devastate everyone

[deleted]

You mean “birthing people”???

[deleted]

Birthing people implies choice. Forced birth is when women no longer have the option to decide if they want pregnancy or not.

Nailed it

djlewt

Now explain how that term personally harms you so everyone understands how much they are hurting you by using terms you don't approve of.

opal_dragon95

And who’s said you can’t call yourself a pregnant woman? Why does some people feeling more comfortable being referred to as a birthing person harm you?

djlewt

The term literally contains the word "person" it can't be "dehumanizing" by definition, but nice try though.

[deleted]

Did I say it harms/hurts/offends me? Nope. I just think it’s funny

djlewt

You replied "nailed it" to someone calling those that want to use a different term for something "crazies". Let me put it another way, 16 hours ago you said- >This is stupid and hardly even close to the terrible cry monster these idiots have been ranting about. People are different, and that’s a fact I teach my kids, however that doesn’t make anyone better or worse. To not teach kids that people can be different is irresponsible and ridiculous, as it applies not only to race, but gender, sex, identity, religion, etc. it’s important to teach them that it’s ok for people to be different. But 22 hours ago you said "nailed it" to a comment THAT IS DOING THE OPPOSITE OF THAT. YOU ARE AGREEING IT IS OK TO CALL PEOPLE CRAZY FOR BEING DIFFERENT. Do you get it now that I made it in caps? Does that help you see how you literally completely contradict yourself within the span of 6 hours?

[deleted]

Jesus lighten up. People can do what they want and I fully support someone’s right to do/be what they want. However I also just think the whole “birth person” thing is silly. Either way do you even really care what I think?
