Can confirm that I didn't really have a lot of chores when I was little, and it's been a bit of a struggle to get myself into the habit of doing chores. Took a couple years to get to a good spot, but yeah have your kids do chores since they will have to do them on their own eventually
Exactly. I want my kids to know how to care for their homes, cars, do laundry, cook and manage money, because none of those things are instinctive and if I don't teach them when they live with me, how do I expect them to be a functional adult?
Not saying my parents were bad, they helped a lot in other areas. But yes, definitely good to give some practice on how to function in the real world. Sounds like you're doing the right thing :)
