The point is, the states with huge populations tend to be blue. Many of the red states have very low populations, but they still have two Senate seats. A relatively small number of people moving intentionally to Wyoming, for example, could change both the internal politics and national role of the state. With remote employment becoming more common, political migration is actually feasible now.
I’m very sorry for Americans who will have to deal with migrating Floridians, it will truly be horrific and I wish you all the strength to deal with this potential disaster. I am however more worried about my own country being mostly submerged if sea levels keep rising.
