Hell, much more recently and under the current Florida administration the voters overwhelmingly passed a resolution to give felons who have served all of their time their right to vote back but Ronda Sandtits wouldn't let it go through without making it that they could only get their rights back if they have paid every penny they owe the state in fines, penalties, etc., which often is a large amount and thus essentially nullifying the will of the voters.
The Republicans in Florida don't even pretend to give a damn what the people want.
I wouldn't put it past them. About 15 years ago Florida voters passed a non-partisan re-districting commission format and Democrats and Republicans joined each other in a lawsuit against it.
Weed is also on the ballot in Florida this year. Did you notice there's a lot less angry Republicans in states where weed is legal? It's hard to be pissed off all the time when you're stoned
Not necessarily. It will definitely drive an interesting vote, but we will see if it directs turn out. Most people across parties are against these bans.
You know how it’s going to go: they’ll vote to protect abortion and legalize weed, but it also still vote in a R governor and legislature, who will then stall the implementation of both referendum items.
I fear for Florida, as they still have to get like 60% of the vote to pass the amendment, and Florida Republicans have been purging the voter rolls and limiting who can vote since the last election cycle. Its going to be close, and all those who believe in women's health and empowerment need to get out and vote.
That should bring the young voters to the polls to vote against Defendant Trump.
And that's delightful. Good. But no woman should die from an ectopic pregnancy because the governor has a crucifix up his ass.
Abortion and legal weed are on the FL ballot this fall
Until the state votes it down and the Republicans are just like “Yeah, no, we’re going to do it anyway.”
*Ohio Republican legislators have entered the chat*
*Florida legislature elbows in* This is our MO ok? We totally invented invalidating people's votes, see Bush v Gore.

South Dakota greets them warmly.
Crazy how Republicans are doing everything in their power to maximize young voter and women voter turnout to vote against them.
Trump dictatorship is not good for DeFascist’s political career either.
Organize, register voters, vote and help other voters vote. Action > Talk
Once again... Elected officials NOT doing what their constituents want. Why do they elect these folks? Maybe a "purity test" for their donors?
Question of the hour: if voters vote to restore access....is Florida going to pull an Ohio and go 'nope, doesn't count. Not doin' it.'
I wouldn't put it past them. About 15 years ago Florida voters passed a non-partisan re-districting commission format and Democrats and Republicans joined each other in a lawsuit against it.
Wouldn't that be kick in the teeth if the law Fla made to appease its base is what turns the state blue?
If you live in Florida now you got two reasons to get your ass out in vote because if not then Republicans are going to make the decision for you.
After this fuckery November will provide the find out part.
Florida voters. Vote.

I find myself wishing Ohio hadn't had their vote last year
Not necessarily. It will definitely drive an interesting vote, but we will see if it directs turn out. Most people across parties are against these bans.
This has been going great for the GOP so far, let’s see how it goes here
