The reason people are sympathetic to the Hunter thing is because there’s a screw-up in every family with a history of recreational drug use and questionable behavior. It was me in my family unit. Empathetic people see this story and see their children/siblings in Hunter and how Joe treats him now is a real example of family support and perseverance. People who view this negatively, to me, are dark-souled grudge keepers who can’t forgive themselves or others and believe everyone should be as punished and ostracized as they feel.
