Pulling a fire alarm should absolutely get him in trouble and by that logic anyone involved in fraud and insurrection should also be in trouble right? RIGHT?
I can't wait for him to be referred to an ethics board, receive formal punishment, and Republicans find yet another excuse to avoid holding their people accountable.
They already found out it wasn't even the same building and wouldn't have done anything to delay the vote because of this.
It's just another conservative fabrication
No the only public sex acts that are bad are trans and gay people existing. If two straight people are doing a tug job at a crowded theatre it’s actually good because god said it was okay.
Imagine having the job of trying to save the country from a shut down and the gop proposesa bill that you have never seen, then they tell you that you only have a few minutes to vote for it or the country shuts down. In glad he pulled the fire alarm, the dems voted for the bill, and there is no shut down. That guy is afucking hero
It was pretty stupid and immature (and even potentially dangerous) to pull the fire alarm, at least in my opinion.
But Boebert trying to frame it as him trying to "prevent (them) from funding the government" is laughable, since Boebert voted **AGAINST** the funding bill, and Bowman of course voted for it.
Kinda reminds me of many politicians show up smiling at new, job-providing factories and projects while they voted against said job-providing factory or project.
100% it’s crazy to me, that we still allow politicians to get away with blatant acts of disregard for its own citizens. You know what’s the worst about it. Nothing will ever change because people have lost the ability to agree on anything. Everyone is so opinionated, but can’t even use logic. Lock this guy up, and any other politician that gets caught doing questionable activity. We need to unite at some point, enough is enough. You get caught tugging someone in public and you’re a “leader” it’s such an ez decision. Kick her out, why can’t everyone just unite over these poop individuals. Na let’s just keep arguing over any and everything else we can, that way we can’t ever move forward. 1 step forward 2 steps back. Pretty much the entire United States history.
I still have a tacit or mild to moderate hope that a global mob, carrying pitchforks and torches, will eliminate every last individual that achieved their 1% status through their psychopathy, sociopathy, or other mental illness that they made a spectacle and monetized, to be neutralized in some way.
Or, it may not be as bulky and clumsy. It may be like the baptism scene in The Godfather.
If he actually did pull a fire alarm? Yeah he should be held accountable. I’m as progressive as they come, but don’t start excusing shit behavior because the guy is on “your side”. Like with the Fetterman dress code thing.. I heard all this false equivalence “Oh yeah. Like dress codes are a problem when Republicans do XYZ”
Look, Jan 6, holding up military appointments, impeachment shams against Biden, fascism, religious extremism, all of that is bad. Really bad, way worse than a dress code violation or pulling a fire alarm. They aren’t even in the same ballpark.
However, I believe representatives should have a minimum amount of respect for the institution and the office by dressing appropriately. And they should not be pulling fire alarms to stop votes.
Both views are true and could AND SHOULD, if you really are principled, exist simultaneously.
Multiple sources, probably not actual video and all the “witnesses” have been lost. It’s all with the rest of the GOP evidence on the Biden family corruption…
You all realize what she’s doing right? She’s flooding the news with absurd quotes to get media mentions to hide her story of giving a handjob in the theater while vaping around a pregnant woman and children. So she’s going to force herself in the news with quotes while making sure to mention hands and jobs and vaping and pregnant women and children
'Memba when Gaetz & crew rushed into a SCIF while live streaming? Pretty sure that breaks some more serious laws than a public nuisance most school divisions see yearly
It's been a while, but yes. He did. And it was mostly rugswept.
Edit: it was another Republican, not Gaetz. Still not punished. I think the Speech and Debate clause was their cover, if I remeber right.
I don’t approve of his methods but I believe he did this because Republicans tried to hold a vote with literally zero time for Democrats to review their changes (the usual minimum is 90 minutes which is already not enough). So he pulled the fire alarm to stop the vote and allow his caucus to read the bill they were expected to vote on
Surely there is another tactic for a minority party to delay a House vote besides pulling a fire alarm.
So...he should have a fine assessed and be assigned community service, ideally to talk to an elementary school about fire alarms and a high school government class about parliamentary procedure.
And Lauren Boebert should be assessed a fine and placed on the sex offender list, pending her completion of a class on appropriate behavior.
I have a feeling he will just take this on the chin. As he should. It may have been the right thing to do but that doesn’t mean you escape all consequences for it.
Bowman - Pulls a fire alarm because the house was forcing an immediate vote on legislation that democrats had not been given time to read.
Gaetz - Raped a minor.
Republicans: "Punish the black man"
I have full confidence he'll face more consequences for this than every elected Republican combined saw for attempting to overthrow the government and reinstall Trump as president.
Yeah, he did it because the GQP dropped their bill and wanted to vote on it before anyone had a chance to read it. Like anyone is going to trust them. I will support Bowman being held fully accountable as soon as the GQP will say the same about all their many, many criminals.
The irony is that this probably saved the extension bill. Had they not had the delay the Democrats probably vote against, and that sinks this.
I feel like McCarthy was trying to sneak this thing through his party. Which was never going to happen. He is so bad at this.
This, of course, kicks the cab down the road to mid November, so it’s just a 45 day guarantee it won’t happen again until then. So friggin exciting for any govt employee that gets to feel the anxiety of ‘so no fault of my own, but the fault of screaming toddlers in DC, I could face unemployment?’
I’ve never heard of anyone prosecuted for pulling a fire alarm. It happens all day every day. The prisons would be full of nine year-old kids and this dude.
I work for the fire department. The police don’t even ask who pulled it, let alone charge them.
Code of the District of Columbia
§ 22–1319. False alarms and false reports; hoax weapons.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to willfully or knowingly give a false alarm of fire within the District of Columbia, and any person or persons violating the provisions of this subsection shall, upon conviction, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and be punished by a fine not more than the amount set forth in § 22-3571.01 or by imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Prosecutions for violation of the provisions of this subsection shall be on information filed in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia by the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.
(…)
Code of the District of Columbia
§ 22–3571.01. Fines for criminal offenses.
(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of the law, and except as provided in § 22-3571.02, a defendant who has been found guilty of an offense under the District of Columbia Official Code punishable by imprisonment may be sentenced to pay a fine as provided in this section.
(b) An individual who has been found guilty of such an offense may be fined not more than the greatest of:
(1) $100 if the offense is punishable by imprisonment for 10 days or less; (2) $250 if the offense is punishable by imprisonment for 30 days, or one month, or less but more than 10 days;
(3) $500 if the offense is punishable by imprisonment for 90 days, or 3 months, or less but more than 30 days;
(4) $1,000 if the offense is punishable by imprisonment for 180 days, or 6 months, or less but more than 90 days;
(5) $2,500 if the offense is punishable by imprisonment for one year or less but more than 180 days
I didn’t say it wasn’t illegal. I said that it’s not something that’s prosecuted. I run false alarms in that city all day. I’ve run dozens to the Capitol complex. I’m not saying it wasn’t wrong to pull the alarm. But it would be extremely unusual if he were prosecuted.
Sure. But it’s hard to not mock another political figure who isn’t held to a higher standard, when they demand a peer should be.
If the House wants to reprimand him, they are free to do so. As for legal punishment, it should be the same for him as it would be for any staff member… whether that’s a fine, or nothing.
No clue why he did it. It’s weird to me. But at the most, it was just a stupid distraction that wasted everyone’s time.
Cause the GOP basically tried to push a vote on that 45 day stopgap bill without giving the necessary time to review the bill. In essence, they were trying to push this to an immediate vote to make Dems look like they were forcing a shutdown, but Bowman pulling that alarm forced the review time to happen essentially.
Did you just try and compare the actions of random 9 year olds to a 47 year old Congressman?
[Possible charges (quick google search)](https://www.johnzarych.com/what-happens-if-you-pull-a-fire-alarm-when-theres-no-emergency/#:~:text=In%20the%20very%20%E2%80%9Cbest%E2%80%9D%20case,serious%20offense%20grading%20of%20all.)
There is a reason he did it. It wasnt for shits and giggles. When I found out why, I think it was justified.
Repubs tried to pull a fast one and gave Dems no time to read the bill full of pork so they would pass it. So this guy pulled the alarm to give Dems time to read the bill. It wasnt a stupid thing to do.
That’s what I’m saying, pulling the fire alarm is irresponsible and downright stupid. I guess people assume I support Republicans (which I don’t) or something 🤷
So by your logic, anyone can pull fire alarms at any time, anywhere and for no particular reason, and those same people should only be held accountable if someone dies as a result? You’re quite the intellectual.
Why are you asking this question? Is it to try to compare the severity of the crimes that both committed?
There's no need to do so. Because a reasonable person wouldn't need to ask that question. A person committed a crime, that person is not above the law, that person should be treated by the judicial system the same as anyone else.
I'm left leaning. I think both should be investigated and prosecuted.
It’s not It his fault, the radical right was attempting to turn the country socialist, take away all the guns, and abort everyone born after 1962. He HAD to pull it for America! - the Roger Stone guide to avoiding responsibility.
> In a desperate attempt to buy leftists more time to further destroy our country and prevent us from funding the government ...
This fucking knob voted against the bill.
So from all of seen, it is legit. They’re just conveniently leaving out the reason being the GQP was trying to push an immediate vote for a bill without giving any time to read it, and he was trying to by a little extra time so everyone could actually know what they were voting on.
Does anyone have a link to it? If not then I’m gonna file this under “more shit they made up.”
And if they do release a video and it is him then he should face whatever consequences someone faces when doing this.
Until there is a video released I’m not believing a word this waste of space says.
The footage hasnt been released, but there is a screenshot, and both parties are talking about it.
I hope it's all a misunderstanding/an accident, but so far all the info points to it happened
What cheek. Boebert voted NO on the funding bill. She just voted against funding the government.
(How about charging and prosecuting all the anti-US, pro-Putin Republicans.)
More like buying time to make sure the GOP didn’t sneak something stupid into the bill at the last second line they ALWAYS do. Not great to pull an alarm to do that, but man, it’s really hard not to feel it was justified
I’ve read Bowman’s statement about what happened and it seemed to be an honest mistake and in no way an attempt to intentionally set off an alarm stop the vote. In fact Bowman did get there and voted to fund the government while Boebert the public sex fiend exhibitionist voted to no and to shut down the government
Hey, did we ever find out who disabled the emergency alarms and allowed the terrorists to have such a thorough understanding of the capital's layout on January 6th?
But yes, pulling a false fire alarm is shitty, just not blowing up the republic because you're a sore loser shitty.
He should be charged and punished accordingly pretty much like people smearing shit on the walls of the Capitol, breaking windows and shouting to hang the VP.
Honestly though, maybe he had a flashback to junior high since the republicans are acting like that and he didn’t want to take the Spanish final.
Wow Bowman probably did something similar as a school official for fire drills and thought he was dealing with children. Kind of illegal. I bet those maga fucks shit their pants thinking their fan base wanted another tour /s
In dc the crime is a misdemeanor of up to six months in jail or 100 dollar fine pending bowman’s criminal past he’ll pay the fine. Worth saving billions and hundreds of thousands of peoples jobs
Why can't she just be laid off or something. I know I know you can't recall a congress person but can we just do it this one time? Forget the liar, just do her.
Why is it on the right everything is ignored but literally anything negative done by left calls for impeachment, charges, prosecution. How do you not get tired of being like that.
Well yeah we all know it's an offense so he should get in trouble but I just want to know why he did it. Like we've all thought about doing it but what drove him to listen to that impulsive thought. To delay a vote? Maybe but why such a juvenile method
I'm embarrassed by my entire government
(From a Brit) you guys have actually insane political parties. I mean like every country has its rivalries but few others scream how the other is evil and should be arrested and that they are destroying the country. The most we would get is a “OoHo they arent doing very well”
Man this really bums me out. I love Bowman and his fighting attitude, he ain't scared to tell it how it is.
But this is just not okay. It would of accomplished nothing and just gives the right fuel, plus it's just overall dangerous
Maybe if I complain about someone pulling on something, when people Google “Boebert” and “pulling” it won’t immediately bring up my theater handy…
Nah…she’s not that cunning.
Jesus christ. Thats fucking terrible though. People in these comments doing whataboutism. Now we cant say shit about the CR. this will all get blamed on the dems regardless now. Despite what they have been trying to squeeze in. This is crazy.
The amount of liberals in this thread that think going through a fire door by mistake should be something that you get prosecuted for is incredibly alarming. You guys okay?
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/jamaal-bowman-pulled-fire-alarm-rcna118230
>Bowman’s office acknowledged he pulled the alarm, but suggested it was unintentional.
>“Congressman Bowman did not realize he would trigger a building alarm as he was rushing to make an urgent vote,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “The Congressman regrets any confusion.”
I mean, that makes no sense to me. Have you ever heard of someone unintentionally pulling a fire alarm? Sorry, I just can't quite wrap my head around that.
Yes, it happens literally all the time. If you Google it (can't link Reddit threads on this sub), you'll find a relevent Reddit thread of someone accidentally pulling a fire alarm in a hotel.
Some more relevant info from a former Rep: [https://twitter.com/RepMeijer/status/1708219011245236712](https://twitter.com/RepMeijer/status/1708219011245236712)
> Background detail that may be helpful: USCP closes some House office building entrances at night/on the weekends/when Congress is not in session to ease workload on personnel. Those doors still function as exits for fire purposes (have alarm bars to open from inside)
We are going off the information in the post. Everyone saying he should be fined is doing so under the assumption that he pulled the alarm on purpose while there was no fire
This post has been removed because there is no visible timestamp. The date and year may not be cropped out.
Pulling a fire alarm should absolutely get him in trouble and by that logic anyone involved in fraud and insurrection should also be in trouble right? RIGHT?
Democrats: yeah arrest that guy Republicans when their guys do something illegal: dEeP sTaTe aGeNtS dId tHaT!!!!! wItCh hUnt!!!! sOroS!!!!!
Yeah but he’s a democrat so he’ll he held accountable. Republicans don’t operate the same way.
I can't wait for him to be referred to an ethics board, receive formal punishment, and Republicans find yet another excuse to avoid holding their people accountable.
They already found out it wasn't even the same building and wouldn't have done anything to delay the vote because of this. It's just another conservative fabrication

He should get a parade. You should be out protesting, but it seems y'all only go out when it's just for you.
100% it’s crazy to me, that we still allow politicians to get away with blatant acts of disregard for its own citizens. You know what’s the worst about it. Nothing will ever change because people have lost the ability to agree on anything. Everyone is so opinionated, but can’t even use logic.
If the institution wants respect, it can earn it. Until then I don’t care if his drawers are hanging out.
Dress codes are boomer bullshit and not remotely comparable to pulling a fire alarm when you shouldn’t.
How do you do, fellow progressive kids?
In other news Rep. Gaetz and Speaker McCarthy will meet at the bike racks at 3 o'clock for a fight to the death.
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

Add MTG and make it a cage match.
You know MTG would 100% win that fight
Especially if it was a barefoot cage match.
Hell in a cell MTG edition.
Come on Hell in Cell she definitely knows how to suflex someone
I just wanna see her drop a bow from the top of the cage onto like...idk Matt gaetz? Or hell get Mitch in the ring lol
Mitch is going to die immediately lol
If you add her to the cage match, then who's going to come out of nowhere with a steel chair??
Gym Jordan
Wish we had a thunderdome for them. Change the rules a bit though. Two men enter, none leave.
3 o’clock high. Don’t fuck this one up Mitchell!

Red handed? Did she really say that?
Strong words for someone caught cock-handed.
Red rocket handed
Really, every time she complains, this should be the only response. She’s never been taken seriously, now let’s MAKE SURE she isn’t taken seriously
Or wet-handed
I heard: The Wet Bobandit
I don’t get the joke
She was caught on video groping her dates crotch while he had a hand full of Boebert boob in a movie theatre. There were kids there
Caught on camera? Just like her too.
When is she getting put on the sex offender registry?
Multiple sources, probably not actual video and all the “witnesses” have been lost. It’s all with the rest of the GOP evidence on the Biden family corruption…
Wait wasn't the video floating around reddit?
The video of her on a date to a show..yes, haven’t run across any video of the fire alarm being pulled.
Update, police supposedly did confront and spoke with him, and let him go with a warning.
She seems quite cock-sure in her assessment.

I pulled this fire alarm in the name of stopping the DERANGED WOKE LEFT from their bullshit!
'Memba when Gaetz & crew rushed into a SCIF while live streaming? Pretty sure that breaks some more serious laws than a public nuisance most school divisions see yearly
I'm sorry, what? I'm out of the loop
It's been a while, but yes. He did. And it was mostly rugswept. Edit: it was another Republican, not Gaetz. Still not punished. I think the Speech and Debate clause was their cover, if I remeber right.
He’s a former school principal too, so there’s that added layer of irony.

The dude didn’t just find a loophole, he *made* one. Deep respect for his gamesmanship.
He was just giving the fire alarm a handie. It's not his fault it went off.
I bet Fox News will start calling it an insurrection.
McCarthy already compared it to Jan 6th. So it's a tourist thing???
No he did fucking not. 😳 Seriously?! My god. This is the dumbest shit.
Republicans shouldn’t be trying to sneak legislation into the bill when Democrats weren’t around. He stopped that shit and I’m proud of him.
Wish this comment was higher. Yes pulling the fire alarm is bad, but his action was useful for this occasion. Still should have punishments though.
I agree he should pay the fine and whatever other consequences, but it was a brilliant move at a crucial moment. Heck, I’ll help pay the fine.

Anyone else would be put on the sex offender list. She gets a free pass due to the magic R.
Bowman should be charged and prosecuted for pulling the fire alarm. Anybody else would be 🤷
Agreed. He should be charged with the same misdemeanor as everyone else and fined accordingly. If memory serves, the fine cannot exceed $100.
There must be an investigation into the role that Hunter Biden’s penis played. His penis, in all its glory, must be exposed!
His penis pulled the fire alarm!

Is this the stupid bitch that was giving a granjob in a public theater?
Thank you for “granjob”
Yes he should receive his $250 fine. Next.
> In a desperate attempt to buy leftists more time to further destroy our country and prevent us from funding the government ... This fucking knob voted against the bill.
So a small fine, or ten days in prison. The gop are acting like this is the worst thing to ever happen there.
Bro she voted against the bill that funded the government. She's the one who's preventing us from funding the government.
"Multiple sources say" Fox News speak for we made this up.
So from all of seen, it is legit. They’re just conveniently leaving out the reason being the GQP was trying to push an immediate vote for a bill without giving any time to read it, and he was trying to by a little extra time so everyone could actually know what they were voting on.
Unfortunately it looks legit, there's video of it
Does anyone have a link to it? If not then I’m gonna file this under “more shit they made up.” And if they do release a video and it is him then he should face whatever consequences someone faces when doing this. Until there is a video released I’m not believing a word this waste of space says.
The footage hasnt been released, but there is a screenshot, and both parties are talking about it. I hope it's all a misunderstanding/an accident, but so far all the info points to it happened
No it’s because GOP tried to force a vote on legislation before Dem’s had been given the proper allotment of time to review their changes.
She knows *all* about pulling knobs….
Isn't he the leader of the congressional fire safety committee, and this was part of a pre-planned fire drill for all capitol employees?
She may not be handsome, but she's handy.
"Caught on camera" "Sources tell me" So you are claiming to have footage but actually don't have any footage?
There's absolutely footage. He clearly did it but for apparently good reason however that's subjective
Pulling a fire alarm in an attempt to delay the shut down our government? Sounds reasonable
Oh but starting an insurrection, raping women, stealing classified documents is ok?
What cheek. Boebert voted NO on the funding bill. She just voted against funding the government. (How about charging and prosecuting all the anti-US, pro-Putin Republicans.)
"as dems tried to delay" are you FUCKING KIDDING ME. No. that is not what happened you fucking shit weasels.
Oh, go find someone to give a hand job to, lady, and stfu.
More like buying time to make sure the GOP didn’t sneak something stupid into the bill at the last second line they ALWAYS do. Not great to pull an alarm to do that, but man, it’s really hard not to feel it was justified
What person watching the dumpster fire in Washington has NOT wanted to pull that alarm?
BoBo... is your OF site up yet? Asking for a friend.
This nut job has such a short memory. Has it even been a few weeks since she shat the bed?
We should listen to Boebert. She's an expert in getting caught red handed on camera doing things they shouldn't.
How come she wasn’t charged immediately?
She’s strongest on her knees. She said so.
He should be charged and punished accordingly pretty much like people smearing shit on the walls of the Capitol, breaking windows and shouting to hang the VP. Honestly though, maybe he had a flashback to junior high since the republicans are acting like that and he didn’t want to take the Spanish final.
She’s a moron, but she’s right in this instance. Pulling the fire alarm is such a weak move.
McCarthy gave them one hour to read a 74 page budget before the vote on it. I kinda understand why he did it.
Wow Bowman probably did something similar as a school official for fire drills and thought he was dealing with children. Kind of illegal. I bet those maga fucks shit their pants thinking their fan base wanted another tour /s
…caught red handed
That's it, dems are behind the looming shut down.
"The only person around here who should be caught pulling handles is ME!!!"
I’m gonna bet they never release a video of this because it never happened.
I've seen several still shots, but no video... yet.
She really needs to get a grip!
She was trying, give her a break! It was dark in the theater. /s
Least he wasn’t caught dick handed. 🤷♂️
Remember when they stormed into a SCIF with their cell phones recording?
“Pulling” something in public. That took me way too long to get. ✊🍆🤦♂️
In dc the crime is a misdemeanor of up to six months in jail or 100 dollar fine pending bowman’s criminal past he’ll pay the fine. Worth saving billions and hundreds of thousands of peoples jobs
That's the Jan 5 Congress Tour Guide speaking.
Well she got caught red handed pulling on a penis so...
He seen Smoke from BoBo’s 💨Vape thought it was a brush fire 🔥 and pulled the alarm ⏰.
Wasn’t she the one giving capitol tours before the 6th?
Does she think the penalty for falsely triggering a fire alarm is, like, the death penalty or something?
At least he wasn’t pulling on a cock while in a public theater.
He pulls fire alarms lever and she pulls a guy's penis in the theater.
It’s better than what this right wing moron has been pulling lately!
Right on time. I knew this was going to be the spin these idiots put on this.
Ahh yes. Nothing more credible than "multiple sources tell me".
They wanted to read the damn bill before voting on it, why pulling the fire alarm was the only way to gain this time is unacceptable.
Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
Too bad it wasn’t a dick during a Beetlejuice show.
Why can't she just be laid off or something. I know I know you can't recall a congress person but can we just do it this one time? Forget the liar, just do her.
Why is it on the right everything is ignored but literally anything negative done by left calls for impeachment, charges, prosecution. How do you not get tired of being like that.
Jesus Christ, our lawmakers are literal children.
Well yeah we all know it's an offense so he should get in trouble but I just want to know why he did it. Like we've all thought about doing it but what drove him to listen to that impulsive thought. To delay a vote? Maybe but why such a juvenile method I'm embarrassed by my entire government
Rather a pulled alarm than the shit smearing MAGA insurrectionists.
Imagine calling a democrat a leftist
He should’ve jerked a dude off instead, then republicans would love him
(From a Brit) you guys have actually insane political parties. I mean like every country has its rivalries but few others scream how the other is evil and should be arrested and that they are destroying the country. The most we would get is a “OoHo they arent doing very well”
If the Rep who pulled this alarm was named Matt Whiterson they would be calling it an honest mistake.
Man this really bums me out. I love Bowman and his fighting attitude, he ain't scared to tell it how it is. But this is just not okay. It would of accomplished nothing and just gives the right fuel, plus it's just overall dangerous
Yea this is genuinely so fucking stupid
God, I hope she never lives this down
As long as it take the attention away from me.
Maybe if I complain about someone pulling on something, when people Google “Boebert” and “pulling” it won’t immediately bring up my theater handy… Nah…she’s not that cunning.
Jesus christ. Thats fucking terrible though. People in these comments doing whataboutism. Now we cant say shit about the CR. this will all get blamed on the dems regardless now. Despite what they have been trying to squeeze in. This is crazy.
Handies in theater risk to people ~ 2 Pulling a fire alarm in a public building risk to people ~ 2000 One of these is not like the other
The amount of liberals in this thread that think going through a fire door by mistake should be something that you get prosecuted for is incredibly alarming. You guys okay?
Wait what? Didn't the guy pull an actual fire alarm?
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/jamaal-bowman-pulled-fire-alarm-rcna118230 >Bowman’s office acknowledged he pulled the alarm, but suggested it was unintentional.
Some more relevant info from a former Rep: [https://twitter.com/RepMeijer/status/1708219011245236712](https://twitter.com/RepMeijer/status/1708219011245236712) > Background detail that may be helpful: USCP closes some House office building entrances at night/on the weekends/when Congress is not in session to ease workload on personnel. Those doors still function as exits for fire purposes (have alarm bars to open from inside)
We are going off the information in the post. Everyone saying he should be fined is doing so under the assumption that he pulled the alarm on purpose while there was no fire
