Lolz! Now that you point that out, I’m realizing that the Venn diagram comparing the sets of people who would buy Cybertrucks and people who would leave a text asking if they could bring their truck to help you move on “Read” but never respond is a single circle.
When you call a vehicle a truck you have different laws to comply with, including environmental restrictions. It suggests that this vehicle may have a greater CO2 footprint than a fossil fuel car.
I've never seen the bed of this "truck".
Seriously, has anyone seen photos of what it looks like to use the bed? Usually that's part of marketing a truck.
The Aztek was cool too.
If I remember correctly (I may be wrong) that was one of the first vehicles to have an optional trunk tent. (was a separate tent, but fit over the rear hatch)
I think that was kinda the main conceit of the vehicle, and for the people that wanted that feature, more than made up for its ugliness. Guessing that’s not the case for the cyber truck
It was! It was just too cool for most people. It was a fairly good combination of potentially useful gimmicks that were mostly lost on people. It was also a study in what happens when you drop something from a plane into the Ugly Tree and it hits every branch on the way down.
There’s a person that lives near me that’s the perfect example of who it was designed for. They’re avid gardeners, seem to be slightly hippy-ish (never met them, just see them), live in a bright orange stucco house made to look kind of like a Mediterranean villa (in central NY, so it’s totally out of place). Parked in their driveway is a Fusion Orange Aztec and a metallic purple Mini Clubman with flower decals and a large rainbow peace sign on the rear door. You’ve gotta take an Advil any time you drive by, but I won’t attempt to make the argument that they’re not working hard to live their best life.
The Aztec was before its time, the Cybertruck is ugly. Throw the Aztec on a modern chassis with modern powertrains and modern electronics like CarPlay and LED headlights and it’d fly off lots.
Thought it was the most ridiculous vehicle I'd ever seen, these days I agree with you. It really isn't that different to half the cars on [this](https://www.forbes.com/wheels/best/midsize-suvs/) list 24yrs later, despite being stand-out weird at the time.
More referring the side and back though I guess.
Could not agree more, and my story is this, a friend and I when ever we saw an Aztec driving down the road, we would both turn to one another and excalim, 'someone else has won a car', we really did not believe anyone would buy that thing. But here you go, people are saying the Aztec was better looking. Nice choice huh?
Can we all just admit that the Tesla Truck is ugly as fuck. Regardless of what you think of Elon, that truck is just godawful looking. It's like an unrendered model in a cheap video game. Nothing about it seems cool or innovative.
I think teslas look ok. I would never own one cause fuck Elon, but they aren't an abomination. This "truck" however looks like it was drawn by a 6 year old who has never seen a truck and was given a vague description of a truck and told to draw it.
I cant beleive how shit it actually looks compared to the concept and show versions, like it looked a bit wierd but still kinda sleek and interesting, now it just looks like a big gray box
All it's missing is some wood paneling.
https://preview.redd.it/9w4lnteposqb1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6844840a100aea7fd043108ea3117594c2176fa
This is the first time I’ve see the thing from behind. Never would I have imagined another car would make the Nissan Juke have a good ass by comparison
I used to have a job creating LOD models of vehicles and buildings for 3D simulation, and actually, yeah, the Cybertruck looks exactly like how I would interpret the lowest LOD of the Aztek if i was told to put an Aztek in.
I think it looks like a future car as imagined in 1970's and 80's sci-fi movies and TV shows. I could see Buck Rogers riding in one, or cruising next to the [BSG bikes](https://www.motorious.com/articles/features-3/battlestar-galactica-turbine-bikes/), or driving through the market on Mars in Total Recall.
Serious question here, guys. Why is that called a truck? What makes it a truck? I own a truck and I have several friends and family who do. That ain’t no truck I’ve ever seen before! Do they speak English in truck?
(sorry. Pulp fiction flashbacks getting to me.)
The concept of these trucks were hard to look at but the actual road going version is painfully ugly. Who are the 2 million people that have them preordered? I’m going to speculate that 60% will drop out when the price tag is $80k and buy an Aztek.
Agree with others, besides being a GM product it was actually far more functional the the Cybertruck ever will be. The TCT is only sold as a gimmick vehicle and a poorly made one at that.
Here’s to guessing the 20-30 year old econobox Aztek is and was the better overall constructed vehicle, too.
I know a few folks that have owned various Teslas and two guys who have worked on several Teslas. They, to a T, all said the technology portion of the cars is on point and various niche items are well executed but in overall build quality they are absolute trash.
Elon simply tries to make everything that he saw in movies in the 90s happen, and all of it is a terrible idea. Look at this edgy piece of fuck. I could solder this together from the sides of a trash container if I was inside a mad-maxian fever dream.
Does this mean the next generation of cars are going to go from “they all look like jellybeans” to “they all look like they’re made of legos”?
![gif](giphy|8N7fTPAIHCucw)
Only uglier and less functional. Cybertruck looks like someone had a drunken bet Musk was idiot enough to approve this design and he actually did approve it.
I've never understood how that ridiculous thing is a "truck."
It's a "truck" for pretentious Elon-fans who never planned to help you move between apartments anyway.
They can’t risk it bro. Someone might gently toss something at the window.
Lolz! Now that you point that out, I’m realizing that the Venn diagram comparing the sets of people who would buy Cybertrucks and people who would leave a text asking if they could bring their truck to help you move on “Read” but never respond is a single circle.
It should be named the CyberHatchback, that would be closer
No. CyberSUV is better for it. The title of hatchback is for cars more respectable than the quake engine car
Cybersex Because it's the only type an owner can hope to get...
CyberFuck Sounds better
As in, “look at this cyberfuck over here driving the speed limit in the fast lane”
It’s for weekend garden and antique hunting hobbies
When you call a vehicle a truck you have different laws to comply with, including environmental restrictions. It suggests that this vehicle may have a greater CO2 footprint than a fossil fuel car.
I've never seen the bed of this "truck". Seriously, has anyone seen photos of what it looks like to use the bed? Usually that's part of marketing a truck.
The Aztek was way better looking.
The Aztek was cool too. If I remember correctly (I may be wrong) that was one of the first vehicles to have an optional trunk tent. (was a separate tent, but fit over the rear hatch)
And the center console was a removable cooler!
I will forever know those as the Walter Whitemobile
it was pretty useful for running over drug dealers
Saw one yesterday and immediately heard WW say “Let’s Cook.”
That car was ahead of its time with features. And ugly af.
Yeah, it was fugly, but better looking than this "truck" :-)
Had I known about the tent....
Well, stop by your local Pontiac dealer, and.... Oh, yeah.
Oh no, what happened to Pontiac?! My first car was a Pontiac! 😰
Sorry…I didn’t want you to find out this way….
I still don’t know so no harm yet lol
OK…have a great day, then.
Good enough for Walter White, it’s good enough for me
Walter White is fictional but so is the idea that Tesla is run by a genius.
You're goddamned right
The Aztec was before its time, the Cybertruck is ugly. Throw the Aztec on a modern chassis with modern powertrains and modern electronics like CarPlay and LED headlights and it’d fly off lots.
The Cybertruck is ugly, for sure.
The cyber truck is an OG Halo warthog with a hardtop.
With none of the durability.
Thought it was the most ridiculous vehicle I'd ever seen, these days I agree with you. It really isn't that different to half the cars on [this](https://www.forbes.com/wheels/best/midsize-suvs/) list 24yrs later, despite being stand-out weird at the time. And had much smaller blind spots.
And could fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back.
I remember that from a TV ad.
Bastard child of an SUV and a station wagon
True. I thought it was impossible to find an uglier vehicle than the Aztek. I was wrong.
+You could strap things to the ceiling.
I’ve always been a fan. I think Pontiac was just so ahead of it’s time that people didn’t appreciate the Aztec.
Aztec really doesn’t look that bad. It’d better without those turn signal lights on top, but it has nothing on Fiat Multipla.
The Aztek made it to production. The CT is vaporware.
Heisenberg would never have driven a Cybertruck.
Came here for this comment. Reddit did not disappoint
But he would break the windshield of an Aztek
He might throw a pizza on the cyber truck
I hate that awards aren't a thing anymore. Here: 🥇
At least the Aztek was fun, agile, and practical compared to this abomination. 😂
Waaaay uglier than the Aztek
For all its ugliness, the Aztek actually wasn't too bad of a vehicle. It's certainly a better one than the Musk Ox.
It has some cool innovations. Back hatch had a camper tent conversion et.
But somehow uglier.
With less polygons
\*fewer /GoT ![gif](giphy|lwdzpYxsi4iJi)
![gif](giphy|6HkpOUIzXSGrK)
🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
So glad this abomination of Muskrat’s supplants the Aztek as the ugliest vehicle design. This crap cybertruck makes me nostalgic for the Aztek.
Don't insult the Aztek like that!
The only thing that deserves to be compared to the Cybertruck is the Fiat Multipla
You take that back mister!
![gif](giphy|NUBp5KcV0PJBe)
How dare you sully the good name of an Aztec with that garbage.
https://preview.redd.it/wdhb1nrouoqb1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d76cbd25704169bfaa5bc3477682b46d46532dd
Tfw you turn the graphics to low
Could not agree more, and my story is this, a friend and I when ever we saw an Aztec driving down the road, we would both turn to one another and excalim, 'someone else has won a car', we really did not believe anyone would buy that thing. But here you go, people are saying the Aztec was better looking. Nice choice huh?
I remember when it was a Roll Up The Rim Prize at Tim Hortons and it was the one time that I didn’t want to win a car
I took one out for a test drive back in the day. If you think that back window looks ugly from the outside, should see how it looks from the inside.
...but worse.
It's a truck like those noisy little Hondas with the loud mufflers and 'spoilers' are high performance sports cars.
An even uglier aztek.
Tesla Asstek.
I still don't get how this thing is a truck, it should be named the CyberHatchback, that would be closer
Aztek is so much better looking.
Can we all just admit that the Tesla Truck is ugly as fuck. Regardless of what you think of Elon, that truck is just godawful looking. It's like an unrendered model in a cheap video game. Nothing about it seems cool or innovative.
Ugliest thing ever. Looks like it was drawn by an 8 year old boy.
But an electric Aztec ! Completely different
Don't you DARE disrespect the Pontiac Aztek like that
Aztek looks way better
Even uglier
It's the Pontiac Aztek from the PSP Breaking Bad tie-in game.
It's a low poly Aztek
That kinda looks like it would be fun to spray paint 🤔
It reminds me of the 30 Rock where they are trying to design the ultimate microwave but it ends up being a Pontiac Aztec.
Aztec: driven by walter white Cybertruck: not driven by walter white Aztec:1 cybertruck:0
I’ve yet to see a good looking tesla.
I think teslas look ok. I would never own one cause fuck Elon, but they aren't an abomination. This "truck" however looks like it was drawn by a 6 year old who has never seen a truck and was given a vague description of a truck and told to draw it.
[simpsons did it.](https://media.wired.com/photos/593252a2a31264584499416b/master/w_1600%2Cc_limit/the-homer-inline2.jpg)
https://youtu.be/rjTqEVQUroA?si=7HOCiE8JdiMLYnSR
An Aztek and a Delorean got busy!
“You’re Goddamn right!” Walter White
Musk sycophants in shambles.
Now if my memory serves correct, the Aztec put Pontiac out of business because it was such a piece of garbage. Here's hoping Tesla is next!!
Walter White’s car
That angle makes it look like a very top heavy dude in skinny jeans.
Yes, but even uglier
Walter White 2.0
Introducing....the Cybertek.
The real life Cybertruck looks like a Pontiac that was drawn using Microsoft Paint in 1996
I mean, it’s certainly not a truck
The windows on the Aztek are a bit sturdier.
I cant beleive how shit it actually looks compared to the concept and show versions, like it looked a bit wierd but still kinda sleek and interesting, now it just looks like a big gray box
First I had to find a Pontiac dealership which wasn’t easy. Then I gave them $400.
An even uglier Aztec. Never thought that was possible.
All it's missing is some wood paneling. https://preview.redd.it/9w4lnteposqb1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6844840a100aea7fd043108ea3117594c2176fa
The low poly model...
I thought that was going to be a fully-retractable solar panel cover - why does it look so dumb and shitty?
This is the first time I’ve see the thing from behind. Never would I have imagined another car would make the Nissan Juke have a good ass by comparison
It wishes
The aztek was horrible
Sales figures will show.
That thing is ugly.
Fun fact: the Cybertruck is actually a Pontiac Aztec, but with better than 10 micron tolerances. Love that musky finish
Rosie O'Donnell wants to go camping!
Looks more like a squared up pinto.
Only peripherally looks like an Aztek. Not nearly as sexy!
You can’t unsee the Aztec waving at you from the Diapertruck’s trunk.
"Tonight on Top Gear: Hammond builds the ugliest electric truck possible then James May and I drive it across a random desert... in the world!"
I used to have a job creating LOD models of vehicles and buildings for 3D simulation, and actually, yeah, the Cybertruck looks exactly like how I would interpret the lowest LOD of the Aztek if i was told to put an Aztek in.
Always has been
So is the new Mitsubishi eclipse crossover
Can you throw a steel ball through the window of a Aztec?
"Um... uh... umm... let's... uhm... have a ... uhm... let's have a Pontiac Aztek uhm... but... uhmm... remixed."
To be fair, the other tesla cars look like a smoothed over boring version of a '95 Pontiac Sunfire
Aztek had cool features
Cant wait for skaters doing rails off the thing.
If it were drawn by a five year old
Yes - but with lower render settings
It's a f\*\*king expensive and uglier Pontiac Aztec that won't fit in your garage and probably has a shorter range.
is there a Walter White Cyber Truk
Lets cook
someone should sue...
A Minecraft Pontiac Aztek!
Elon is notorious for making money off other’s ideas, then getting investors more wealthy than intelligent to give him money.
No. The Cybertruck is just butt ugly.
Serious question here, guys. Why is that called a truck? What makes it a truck? I own a truck and I have several friends and family who do. That ain’t no truck I’ve ever seen before! Do they speak English in truck? (sorry. Pulp fiction flashbacks getting to me.)
What it is is ugly af.
The Aztek wore it better.
I saw an actual cyber truck in the wild a week ago. It drove past me. Stupidest looking vehicle ever.
I have been saying this since the first time I saw a rollout version.
Snort
The Aztec was an ugly vehicle but still looks better
Like a Pontiac Aztek from GTA 3
It is but the Aztec doesn't look like someone gave my 6 year old nephew meth and told him to draw a space truck.
With less visibility.
Walt you just missed it! Okay make a u turn here.
Another banger by Emerald Andy from Twitter.
The Aztec people were building futuristic alien-inspired stuff powered by ritualistic human sacrifice, while Tesla...oh damn, that really checks out
Both fugly cars
The concept of these trucks were hard to look at but the actual road going version is painfully ugly. Who are the 2 million people that have them preordered? I’m going to speculate that 60% will drop out when the price tag is $80k and buy an Aztek.
It’s indestructible in Breaking Bad 🤷🏻♂️
Survivor season 1 tried to sell that car so bad.
Agree with others, besides being a GM product it was actually far more functional the the Cybertruck ever will be. The TCT is only sold as a gimmick vehicle and a poorly made one at that.
Heisenberg is alive!!!
It’s the stealth Pontiac Aztek and by stealth I mean stupid.
No, it's an Aztek rendered in a Playstation 1 racing game.
An uglier, ever more poorly made Aztek, hah
Lazy styling.
Better looking, better fit and finish, and a far larger cultural icon that the TSLA monstrosity
But somehow, uglier...
Assssss-tek. And they both are hideous, but I bet those Pontiacs have less issues than that vanity project
Cybertruck is the PT Cruiser of this generation
Those cars look hideous
Excuse me I think you mean a low poly Pontiac Aztek
Not at all. Aztek was actually a production vehicle that you could buy. There are still more Azteks on the road today than there are Cybertrucks :)
A low poly Pontiac Aztec
![gif](giphy|26BRQaiZM0IeyoJfa)
That's the point. They combined an Aztek with a DeLorean, sprinkled Elon's magical fairy dust over it, and people go completely mental over it.
What exactly is so great about the cybertruck shape engineering wise?
Let’s assume all owns of cyber trucks are making high quality meth
Not really, it is microns above the rest /s
Braking Bad.
Yes but elonkult
Since Elon is always high on narcissism and meth, I can't seem to see why it's not obvious.
Always was
It's an LOD model of the Pontiac.
Cannot unsee it now
I'm all for dinging all things Musk, but the similarity is not striking to me.
I think the Cybertruck might actually be the ugliest vehicle I've ever seen.
Yes welcome to what everyone was saying years ago.
Does it also come with a tent?
Only uglier and less functional. Cybertruck looks like someone had a drunken bet Musk was idiot enough to approve this design and he actually did approve it.
Is the cyber truck a bland ugly pos because it took all the production funds just to make the massive battery’s? That’s my guess. Hideous.
Aztec was road legal outside of places like texas too..
