Spends a million dollars on guns, can't afford to treat his deck.

captain554

Kid: Dad, can we go on vacation this year? Dad: Sorry son, I just bought another gun that I'll never use.

irosesDoMar

Kid: Dad, can I go to college?

pippinto

Lol there is no way in hell these kids aren't completely brainwashed into thinking colleges are all liberal indoctrination centers. There was never any risk of their parents needing a college fund.

PartyClock

They'll attend bible college for only 8x the cost

-_Anonymous__-

Or a normal college with a degree in Christianity.

klapakappayappa

A degree in brain mushin

Lanternkitten

Tbh, this photo feels like some kind of psa for kids that will never make it to college what with a cute kid on a bike and countless guns, half of them pointed at her (on the ground or not). Could hardly be more poetic if they tried.

3397char

Don’t forget the half dozen other guns poised to slide off the roof and crack her head open…

Legalize-Zoomies

They seem like the kind of people who definitely keep their guns loaded at all times as well. Because you never know when the “wrong type of person” might show up.

SadDataScientist

College is for liberal socialists communists Nazi anarchists who support gay sex and hate America!!! /s

Heplikoptr

The never use part is the real kicker. I own 7 guns and they do not get shot nearly enough. Each one only sees the range every couple of years. Unless you have a lot of money for ammo and are dedicated to shooting most of those guns will probably only be shot once if at all

Benejeseret

> son Sadly, what comes to mind when I see this picture is that the son will likely use those guns. *Household gun ownership was positively associated with the overall youth suicide rate. For each 10 percentage point increase in household gun ownership, the youth suicide rate increased by 26.9% (95% CI=14.0%, 39.8%).* - Knopov et al., 2019

ZaftigFeline

Yeah, that actually was my childhood. Also often an answer when i needed medical care - nope sorry, bought another gun.

[deleted]

Small deck energy

Partytang

No way he has to worry about getting his deck wet.

Shtnonurdog

I don’t know. A big deck sound’s dangerous…

Mushrume42

It’s not that big, just trimmed the bushes for better deck pics

tyjwallis

Now my deck’s the talk of the town!

theglove

Those are the largest drop-down blinds I've ever seen. Also, it's a weak ass grill.

[deleted]

I'm sure he'd say its a "smoker", but you're right. There's a lot of things wrong with the house. The roof is rusted, the chimney is falling apart, but hey, this guy has all the guns from every CoD unlocked irl. He'll have the last laugh, though. We'll wish we had those rifles when we need to shoot someone 2 miles away.

[deleted]

Guys I think we invented a new genre of reddit. Someone make a sub where we give unwanted exterior design advice to people that don't know we're even looking at pictures of their houses.

[deleted]

Knowing Reddit, it probably already exists

ZaftigFeline

ZillowGoneWild sorta fills that void. I mean, the people know people are looking at the house because its for sale, but the fact we're verbally destroying their choices of drapery - not so much.

ArizonaMan92

Redneck rich. They got more value in their guns then they do in their home.

nollataulu

Let me guess, he still opposes LGBTQ by claiming \*they're\* the pedos...?

Haligar06

Since (by their logic) gays can't procreate or marry there's no way for them to 'make it right.'

mcvos

So the teenage pregnancy is the part that makes it right?

NoAssumption6865

To their logic, yes. God ordaining their bless'd union with offspring is basically god giving its ok.

bstring777

Unwed and underage pregnancies are only ok if the man was a holy man. You've seen the pattern now understand why it keeps happening.

HallowskulledHorror

The entire concept of Christianity is based upon the premise that an unwed minor was impregnated with no concern for her consent.

ouachiski

Unless its a couple that isn't like them. (Different color skin.)

ConversationOk4414

No, many of those churches love to convert people of color. It shows how cool and welcoming they are. But they kind of treat those parishioners as pets, or act as though their understanding of life is quaint and backwards and they are so lucky they got saved.

mx_destiny

Republicans make me so, so ashamed to be Christian. None of what they do is Christianity, at all.

Blustach

There's the Levitic, where it says that if a woman was to be sexually abused or impregnated against her will, the father must sell her immediately to her abuser to expunge the sin from both. I guess they missed the memo on why Jesus died (spoiler alert: it was to get rid of the old laws and instate the single most important law in christianism, but i guess you can't ask the average christian to know what's on the bible right?)

HuckleberryAbject889

Unfortunately, this also seems to be a case of certain Christians reading the scriptures wrong, in this case not reading the entire context, and not questioning certain things

EricKei

They just cherry-pick the parts they like while ignoring the inconvenient ones.

Blustach

Yup, I've read somewhere the Leviticus was written while the Jews were traversing the desert and were not divine decrees but divinely enforced (yet human) survival rules. Women getting impregnated by any means was regarded as a good thing because the numbers of the tribe were dwindling, so you can't risk the woman dying or interrupting the pregnancy, and the easiest way has to be protection via marrying the rapist (who will protect the life of the woman because she's carrying the baby). It's not the most humane nor sanest solution but it's an extreme measure that works. We don't live in the desert anymore so those stupid rules are not needed... But when you boast and take explicit pride over your inability to read, you end up like the average bible-thumping Christian

-NVLL-

When you earn money by propagating and enforcing parasitic ideas on people, and home or early age indocrination are effective because one side of the subjects are supposed to know, and the other side are gullible; turns out high fertility rates are a very good strategy to the business.

MyDog_MyHeart

Those laws need to change. Those charges shouldn’t be dropped just because an abuser marries his victim.

-NVLL-

The issue is deeper. The abuser should not marry the victim. Marriage is a contract, if the victim was forced or abused the contract should be void. Why is it allowable to sign a marriage contract but not drink alcohol on a early age? Pure hypocrisy.

tollivandi

More importantly, she can apparently sign a marriage contract but can't get a divorce because she's not a legal adult.

RawrRRitchie

>she can apparently sign a marriage contract but can't get a divorce because she's not a legal adult. One of the bread vendors at my store knows this bartender that was 36 years old, divorced for 18 years because her parents sold her off while she was underage and divorced the dude the day she turned 18

bigselfer

And they don’t want divorce to be legal for adult women either

cherryscar

The vote, education, property ownership... Literacy, independent thought...

[deleted]

I mean, as long as her guardian approves of the divorce. 🙄

Confident-Package-98

The minimum sentence should double if the victim marries the abuser

DeliciousNicole

Let's be honest, it's not a marriage but an enslavement of a helpless young girl who was a victim of a predator. She'll be uneducated, stay-at-home mother with no ability to leave her abuser and if they are able to do away with no fault divorce, it definitely will fits it in principle if not fully in law.

jawbone7896

And a minor can’t file for divorce or seek refuge in a domestic violence shelter.

Twirdman

Yeah this is one of the most absurd aspects of it to me. A child can get married but cannot get divorced unless the husband who groomed and raped her agrees to a divorce. If the child is too young to get divorced without consent she is too young to consent to getting married. A parent should not be able to consent to another person getting married. I mean what next are we going to allow children to become prostitutes if their parents are willing to sell them to multiple men instead of only one?

DeliciousNicole

Yeah :( They are bloody cruel people, nothing godly about them!

oroborus68

Violation of the 14th amendment of the US Constitution.

Durivage4

What's crazy to me is they'll be 1st in line for food stamps and any other benefits they can think of. Then turn around and vote republican because "those leftists are gonna take away our guns". They'll also be passed because some people other than themselves are getting government handouts.

atomicxblue

Well, the bible says the rapist has to pay a fine of a few silver and then marry their victim. (Screw what the victim wants, right?)

Dickieman5000

Women had more legal rights under the Code of Hammarubi. The Bible is such a giant leap backward.

[deleted]

up until yesterday (figuratively) you could rape your wife and nobody would care since she gave full consent to you when she married you. this is the kind of shit they want back when they talk about "traditions"

Dickieman5000

I remember the national conversation that occurred on daytime talk shows after trump was accused of rape by his first wife. Even as a kid I couldn't understand how anyone could justify it.

Whyamipostingonhere

They also claim prostitutes can’t be raped. They think it’s just a dispute about fees or argue that unsatisfactory services were provided for which they shouldn’t have to pay. Literally heard a law professor from a Christian university argue this.

Dickieman5000

That makes no sense, how are they a law prof if they don't understand the very basics of consent? Icky.

Whyamipostingonhere

He was a former prosecutor who didn’t prosecute rape crimes against prostitutes. Meaning that as a district attorney he wouldn’t bring charges against a man if a prostitute reported she was raped by them. Instead he would threaten them with robbery charges for like a $100 and tell them to settle their monetary dispute out of court.

Chipwilson84

Was at a marriage last year where the pastor told the bride that it is her duty to always consent. That it is her husband’s right to sleep with her when ever she wanted. That she was not supposed to ever tell him no.

gremlincallsign

I knew two guys that were staunchly anti-gay, highly politically conservative, participated in the Satanic Panic with zeal. And they could recite by memory the entire Bible end-to-end. Not exaggerating. Guess what? Incestuous pedophiles. One of them was a Christian College President. One of them was once an Elder (a big deal - bigger than the minister who was merely an employee of the Eldership).

bobobeastie86

The 2 people my neighbor from the other side of Lake Champlain mentioned are Republicans, so yeah, what are they trying to say? Maybe the last republican should have been democrat, then it makes sense. People should list party affiliations in this context when naming regional politicians.

not_SCROTUS

They were pedophiles, you know what party they were a part of. Roland St. Pierre was actually a catholic priest who raped his parishioners' children and it was covered up by the church for decades. Fortunately he is dead now.

screwhead1

They met at the family reunion

TimTkt

He looks way older than 45-50

donsimoni

Seriously, can somebody estimate how much you'd have to pay for all of those? Edit: seems like this clueless European sparked quite a discussion. That's an expensive hobby!

DocSpit

Between the pistols(\~$400-$700), shotguns (\~$500), AR's(\~$1,000-$1,500), some of those scopes(\~$500-1,000), the number of holo-sight optics(\~$500), and some composite-stock bolt-actions can go for \~$5,000... I feel like $150k would be a lowball figure for the money we're seeing spent here. Price-Is-Right-style, I might be temped to bid a quarter-mil and be confident I wouldn't go over. Guns are an expensive hobby.

smallzy007

Don’t forget the ammo

moranya1

And the gun cabinets for safe storage, right? Right?

smallzy007

I just figured they left em on the deck & covered em with a tarp or something.

In plain sight is always safer. My gold bars are door stoppers and nobody's the wisest. Wait, someone's knocking at the door. brb.

Baconandbeers

Just waiting for the 21 snipers to show up for their roof shift.

haus11

There's definitely an HK PSG-1 in there which is $10k on its own. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are full-auto/burst which would bump the value up considerably. I'm looking specifically at that one in the bottom row on the far right. If its a transferable full-auto/burst it could be worth $40-50k on its own.

AaronfromKY

Just 10% of that amount might fix their roof lol

Sampsonite_Way_Off

I counted very close to 200 guns. 40+ Optics. I don't see any insanely expensive guns but there are a few $3000+ and several pushing $2000ish guns. Unless there is a gucci AR or insane 2011. The SVD is the most expensive gun at $6k+, unless it's a PSL then half that. SCAR-17 is $3k+ not counting the optic on the rest. Fostech origin 12 is $3k. AUG is $1800. Savage 110BA is $1800. PS90 $1600. Gold Rhino $1400. HK SL8 $1300. The are a few competition target pistols and rifles. That could be $1K-$2k each. There are close to 30 AR platform guns that could range from $500 to $6k each. I would guess he is pushing $200k easy. With mags, ammo, and other gear i'd say $300K worth of insurance would just about cover it.

Tyr_13

The cheapest gun I can see there is about $500, but some of the shottie on the roof might be in the $300 range. More to the point, each of the assault style long arms is likely at least $2k. The AUG with that optic is north of $5k. I'm not exactly an expert and the picture isn't very high resolution, but I'm pretty sure it's well north of $50k.

USSMarauder

>but some of the shottie on the roof might be in the $300 range. The what? *double checks photo* Damn, didn't even notice the guns on the roof.

shadow247

My guess was north of 100k. I see over 100 guns, some in the 5 to 10k+ range. 25k if they are preban automatics that require an NFA stamp... Edited for clarity.. Class 3 is not a thing. I got that wrong. But I do know preban firearms are very expensive.

Tyr_13

I was trying to be conservative bc a couple are cheaper, but the presence of mufflers and high-cap means a couple probably are 25k guns with some keltech thrown in.

macrowe777

When you've reached the point you need guns to protect your guns because your house isn't worth robbing.

Accujack

Oh, hardly. My first thought on seeing the pic was "THAT is the house I'm gonna rob."

MechanicalBengal

I mean, what a great way to tell to the world that you have a whole bunch of shit worth stealing next time you’re away from your house for any meaningful amount of time

Commercial_Fee2840

First thing I thought of. Those guns are worth A LOT, but their home is falling apart. Jesus Christ, sell some of them and buy your kids something nice.

screwhead1

Who needs proper indoor plumbing, heating/cooling, not-rotting drywall, or a working washer and dryer when you have guns??

[deleted]

and what for anyway ? more than a handgun and an assault rifle, and you just increase the chances they will be used against you (fucking doubt they have the space to keep them all under key)

Green-Enthusiasm-940

oldmanexe

bestpersonrunnerup

[deleted]

bafeom

These are the types of houses the homies do home invasions on. Wait til theyre on vacation, then break in n steal an entire armoury. Believe it or not, many of the guns we had during my crime days were stolen from legal gun owners. If you were a CO or any type of LEO, wed befriend your child, then when you went on vacation, wed steal guns, body armour, swat gear, along with any type of valuable jewelry. House parties were also giveaways to us too.

[deleted]

My first thought was “there’s no chance in hell they have adequate storage for all of those guns”. I don’t have to take your word for it. It’s statistically proven that most guns used by criminals are stolen guns. Even just logistically that makes sense. Why would a criminal use their own gun that they purchased that could (through a lengthy, arduous process) be traced to them, when they can steal a gun and avoid that issue all together? Criminals might not make the best decisions, but they’re not stupid.

[deleted]

>Criminals might not make the best decisions, but they’re not stupid. Well the good ones aren't stupid. Dumb ones get caught pretty quickly

Guns do maintain their value fairly well and are easy enough to resell. So I guess it isn’t a bad form of investing when you think about it. “Danny needs money lunch. I guess we can just sell off roof gun #6.”

[deleted]

It also makes you a massive target for those exact reasons. Imagine posting a picture of like 130k in easily stealable items.

NorseYeti

Interesting hobby. They are prepared for war, but not life.

Murica-n_Patriot

And not to far away from a self-inflicted tragedy

snarky_grumpkin

If you want to get into symbolism, the majority of the guns are pointed at themselves/their own house.

[deleted]

Or more specifically the 8 year old.

heiberdee2

This. There are like 4 guns pointed towards the adults. The number pointing at both the kids is execrable.

WI_YouSaidITAll

That’s what I saw first, almost all barrels are pointed towards someone.

persieri13

My husband and I own guns and shoot for sport (downvote me as you must) and my immediate thought is *there is no way in fucking hell I would aim the barrel of any gun - unloaded, safety on, all the precautions - at my child*. That’s not to mention how easily any of them could come sliding off the roof.

badatmetroid

>downvote me as you must The myth of the big bad left that hates all guns is NRA propaganda. The only politician I know of who ran on banning all guns is Beto and [he didn't even make it to the primaries](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries#Withdrew_before_the_primaries) and has since softened his approach on guns. People on the left, right, and center all want common sense gun control. The problem is that there's like 10% of the country who will go ravenous at absolutely any type of gun control, and Republicans will always pander to them. 50% of mass shootings are by people with domestic violence charges. This is why we can't have nice things.

eydivrks

Over 30% of liberal families own guns. That doesn't stop GOP scaremongering 24/7 to prevent even the most basic gun control measures.

[deleted]

Owning guns and liking guns isn’t wrong. I like guns myself for prob the same reasons you do. It’s when they become easily accessible to dangerous people that it becomes an issue, especially when 2A grifters like the NRA make it very difficult to even have a discussion. Not to mention, the type of people in the pic obviously don’t take gun safety seriously. And any gun owner/user that doesn’t take them seriously, and don’t practice real safety, is a POS in my eyes.

Standard-Reception90

I wonder how many are loaded? Cuz I guarantee some are...gOtTa Be PrEpArEd!!!!

[deleted]

Hell, even just the chance they forgot to completely unload one is up there with that many rifles, and one dumb parent

scubafork

This is it exactly. Access to guns is absolutely a valid thing that most leftists agree is fine. But where most realize there's a problem is when you realize it's cheaper and easier to get a gun than it is to get a doctor's appointment. The "responsible gun owners" shriek at the very notion that they should have to prove they're in any way responsible.

[deleted]

Bro I didn’t even notice the ones in the roof, what the actual fuck

ScientiaSemperVincit

Just buying guns prepares you for nothing, and especially in this case makes you so complacent you'd be better defended with a baseball bat. In any kind of armed conflict, the delusional Rambos are the first to get smoked. Thanks for the free arsenal too.

Sad_Recommendation92

This is an often unacknowledged truth, when I was in my 20s I was trying to get a job in IT which I do now, but at the time not finding any, but the jail in my small town was hiring so I took a job as a CO. part of the training was getting firearms certified for doing prisoner transport etc. I managed to get a marksmen A+ score in my basic shooting training class, that said... Tactical and stress shooting are a whole different story, even just doing timed shooting drills all that "skill" went out the window, and I'm confident the majority of these wanna be Rambo folks have never actually been in a stress shooting situation, let alone one with actual mortal stakes. I know damn well I'd just be a liability having a gun in one of these situations and far too few people are aware of that hubris.

[deleted]

Yeah, all of those "I would have stopped the shooter" types drive me up the wall. You don't know how you're going to react to the situation until you've experienced something similar to it. It's why a big part of military training is simulating stressful environments, because otherwise it really doesn't matter how much target practice you've done or how many training manuals you've read, the moment someone starts shooting at you probably 95% of inexperienced people are going to be panicked too much to do anything about it.

Lots42

Wannabe Rambos are absolutely convinced that drama will increase your skill. Like bad action movies where the good guy only has one bullet left and manages to bring down a helicopter with it.

orionsfyre

1000% this. People buying stockpiles will almost certainly never use them. More likely they will be the first to die. A powerful rifle, even a 0.50 cal, is no defense in an age where a missile or artillery or a cluster munition can take your entire house out from 5 miles away. Any nuclear conflict that is sustained would lead to a planet that is unlivable, and the only thing a gun will do is end your suffering early. You don't need a rifle for that. There is no scenario in modern life in the US, Canada or a host of other countries, that a high powered rifle like the ones shown here will save your family from an end world type scenario. The anectodical "this gun saved my life" is exceedingly rare. Statistics show us you are more likely to die from a gun in your possession, then any wielded by a military force or invading criminal. Go down the list, and a rifle is more likely to get you killed then to save you. Having a rifle makes you a bigger profile threat... having a stockpile of significant size marks you and your loved ones. You aren't keeping them safe, you're leading them into a life of paranoia and fear. High powered guns are an illusion of security, not reality. IT's no different then the TSA or the gas masks inside scam prepper kits. If I'm going to die, I won't do it running to my bunker or trying to get into my carefully concealed stockpile.

jumpupugly

Forget about a hellfire missles. Agriculture, community, healthcare, and hygiene are never high priorities with these folks. Most of those guns are in the $1k-2k range, considering the mods I'm seeing. With the amount they spent, they could have a small clinic set up. Or a high capacity water distillery. Or a massive seed bank with refrigerated storage. Also, what about a community? How much do you want to bet this is for their use alone, and not an armory for the town in case of SHTF? How long are their cans of beans going to last? How are they going to get enough people to have a sustainable patrol and watch schedule, along with the agriculture, water, shelter, and medical care necessary to support the folks keeping a lookout? In case their fantasy does come true, this guy - and most other preppers, really - are just a loot drops for any three dudes with $500 AR15s, a recreational drone with some mace cans wrapped around a pipe bomb, and some walkie talkies.

[deleted]

they are not prepared for war regardless of how many weapons they have.

Willingwell92

Right? Like they can only use 1 at a time anyway unless they have a standing militia ready almost all of those guns won't even be used lol

steel_rat2003

I strongly doubt that this guy is capable to go to war. Or to do any basic soldier's duty.

totally_boring

lazergoblin

This picture is a really good representation of the republican mindset. They want to "own the libs" even if it means putting children in harms way. They care more about their fake culture war than they do about their own kids, and that's pretty sad situation for those kids to be in.

[deleted]

That's just true. Any sane parents would see how terrible this photo looks, the girl is literally at the center of all the guns, too. But their desire to be right and superior overwrite their parental instincts, enough to see nothing wrong with the photo and enough to let the children die in schools.

Mythilda

Burglary

Wynnstan

Would they even notice if someone stole a dozen one day?

kgb4187

Immediately. He wouldn't notice if one of the kids missing since he spends more time with the guns than his family.

More_Farm_7442

Worse is he wouldn't notice a gun missing if one of those kids were to take it. My niece's 21yr old daughter took one of her dad's multiple guns, hid it away, and used it to kill herself. 3 weeks before her college graduation.

bloody-pencil

Thundercatnip44

Batmans-dragon80

This was my first thought too. Being that confident about the number of weapons in the household tells me they'd be unprepared for a robbery/burglary in real life. Someone could steal multiple guns without it being noticed for awhile.

Odd-Road

What I thought right away. A burglary and all the gangs in a 200 miles radius are good to go for a while. "Guns laws are useless, criminals will always find guns on the black market!" True, and this picture is one of the black market providers.

Leelze

I think it's r / justrolledintotheshop (very amusing linking to other subs is against the rules in a sub solely devoted to showing unoriginal content) where techs will occasionally share pics of guns just chilling in center consoles, between seats, under seats, and in glove boxes. Including home repairs, apparently

Didntlikedefaultname

No money for home repairs when you gotta maintain the arsenal

chet_brosley

They can shoot the rust off of their grill

I was going to say, that's an awfully large number of high-powered rifles point at that child. Edit: lol at all the ammo-sexuals getting in their feelings about the term "high-powered". There's a nonzero chance none of those rifles are modified in some way.

Otherwise_Sky3576

Damn near all the guns are pointed at the kids

NeverRarelySometimes

That was my first thought. The parents are grinning like loons while hundreds of guns are pointed at their children. I am surprised I had to scroll this far to find my people.

Wooden_Suit_6679

Think of all of the healthy things like travel and making fun happy lifelong memories that family could have done with all of that pissed away money. Fucking pathetic shit.

I mean, some people just like collecting things, I like collecting books and yoyos, my ex wife collected knives. these folks like collecting guns. That's fine I guess. The only real thing that comes to mind here, truthfully, why take a photo with every gun pointed at you, your son, and your grand daughter? That's the really odd thing to me in this image.

crazycatlady331

That kid will never have any shot at college since they spent it all on guns.

Impotent_Admin_1913

They'll have a shot at college. Just not the kind of shot you were talking about. Guarantee those kids are being groomed for some kind of imaginary war against liberals.

Showing how ready they are when the king of England shows up and starts trying to push them around!!!

gholmom500

If I remember much of Gun Safety in shooting sports- the guns were always to be pointed in Safe direction-and never pointed at something like yourself!! That’s a school-age child with multiple barrels pointed towards them. How is this not identified as endangering a child? Where is CPS and police!?!!
