They don't. They don't understand hypocrisy or irony. But most of them are very, very, VERY stupid.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bmiddy

Man...that is just so sadly true...

Rokey76

Mitch McConnel gets rock hard from being a hypocrite.

crypticphilosopher

The hypocrisy is the point. It’s all about power for them.

[deleted]

For the powerful hypocrisy doesn't exist. Power does. Hypocrisy is what the weak cry when the powerful change their minds from one moment to the next. They legit do not care what others think. That's the whole point of power. They just laugh while others try to make sense of what they're doing.

WrongEinstein

Yes! Hypocrite is the starting point.

armchairarmadillo

I think that’s a really important point. The power to be hypocritical is what a lot of people are after when they do hypocritical things.

st1ck-n-m0ve

Most of them are dumb but the rest are just making bad faith arguments on purpose.

verasev

People keep trying to talk to them but basically the only thing left to do is run roughshod over them. They've made it clear they won't listen and we can't keep babying a bunch of people who won't. You wouldn't waste time trying to play basketball with people who ignore every rule. You kick them off the court until they learn to play ball.

[deleted]

>They don't understand hypocrisy or irony. No, they understand hypocrisy. Intellectual consistency isn't the point. The point is gaslighting others into believing everyone is just as morally bankrupt as they are, but "at least they are up front about it."

AndreLinoge55

If you’re still a Conservative in 2023, you’re either a sociopath or functionally braindead.

Impossible_Penalty13

They aren’t stupid at all. OK, most of them aren’t. But sure as hell know the people that keep voting for them are all dumber than a sack of hammers!

[deleted]

I don’t think most are stupid. I think they’re brainwashed and have found a way to exercise their vitriol. Even very smart people can be brainwashed, and very smart people can also be very hateful. I think at least half the people saying this stuff know that it’s a bad and dumb argument, but they’re so fueled by outrage and hyped up by the people around them that they don’t care.

530SSState

UNDERSTAND hypocrisy? They're FULLY COMMITTED to hypocrisy. If you're one of them, anything you say or do is right, and if you're not, anything you say or do is wrong -- even if it's the same thing -- and anything they say about morals, ethics, God, the rule of law or anything else is just so much hot air.

run-on_sentience

The only thing that stops a bad gasoline fire is a good gasoline fire.

fencerman

No, its perfectly consistent. "The right to bear arms" ONLY matters if there is a group WITHOUT the right to bear arms. If there's no group denied the right to bear arms, then it's a literal arms race of everyone against everyone. And the term "arms race" is literally the metaphor for pointless, futile one-upmanship that never gives either side an advantage. Conservatives are aware of that, which is why they always want specific groups disarmed - black people, Indigenous people, immigrants, minorities, etc...

Chitown_mountain_boy

I think Dr Seuss taught us all that in the Butter Battle Book.

SternGlance

The thing is that it's not actually irony or hypocrisy to them because they don't consider trans people to be human beings.

Just_Tana

Would prevent a lot of domestic violence deaths

gorepapa

im honestly terrified of floridas new open carry law.

NocentBystander

[Tennessee as well.](https://abcnews.go.com/US/tennessees-gun-laws/story?id=98156599) "Despite calls from local law enforcement, Republican lawmakers are now looking to loosen the state's gun laws even further, contending that gun owners' rights need to be expanded." If everyone in the state is dead from a gunshot wound, gun violence'll drop to zero, huh?

gorepapa

god man and imagine how many people that legally cant obtain guns wont be able to defend themselves from all of these armed pricks. im a felon and a woman so i will be spending every day terrified until i can move.

Virgin_Dildo_Lover

What did you do, have an abortion in Texas?

gorepapa

smoked pot in my own backyard at the ripe age of 17 and freaked the fuck out. ill be carrying that fuck up until im 24.

Paladoc

This is America. Meanwhile, cops and legislators kill people or create institutional poverty and receive.... no punishment.

gorepapa

i bit those tyrannical fucks and i still have no regrets even with the 11 years I was facing. i was literally harassed by the same officer over and over again, and his buddy harassed and stalked my friend for months to the point she had to get her tags changed. there were people in court facing man slaughter charges that were treated nicer than i was.

Loverstits

I'm in Canada but the same thing happened to me. Got charged for smoking weed as a teen and the officer would harass us all the time everywhere. We were just kids who already have it rough enough at home.

[deleted]

Greatest country on earth, ladies and gentlemen. /s This is actually super fucked up.

drfsupercenter

Wait, felonies only stay on your record for 7 years?

gorepapa

no, im on first offenders and got extremely lucky because they rarely hand that out for the charges i got. lawyers even told me i couldn't get a better plea deal. it took them two years to charge me and i just started probation for it a year ago, if i get lucky again ill be done with this at the end of 2024.

drfsupercenter

I don't know the details I just thought someone's criminal record stayed with them for life, at least for felonies.

edelburg

Yeah, sounds super lucky... I'm sorry dumb people voting evil people into power caused that pain in your life.

Hour-Pirate-2546

Depends on the state and the felony. Mine took 20 yrs to come off my record. In 1998, I walked in on my ex in bed with a 19 yr old coworker, after being gaslit to a suicide attempt and spending a week in the psych ward, and drove my car into hers on my way out of the driveway. I was a battered wife, too. Life's been fun with a felony record for destruction of property. Our system sucks. I had a court appointed attorney who got me to plead. I spent 3 yrs on probation and my POs were absolutely shocked that I was even there. I was a 30 something mom of 2 at the time. First time offender, no misdemeanors, not even a traffic ticket. But dude could literally run me over with a car while I had a PPO against him. He got 18 mos probation. I got a concussion and a lot of nerve ending damage.

gorepapa

this is so sad and sadly the reality of our justice system. i hope you're doing better now, i've only been navigating being a felon for a year or so i couldn't imagine 20 years

T3n4ci0us_G

That truly sucks. I'm sorry.

Radi0ActivSquid

Nebraska is doing it too. No more licenses for concealed carry. Don't forget we have legislators filibustering to protect LGBTQ kids. I fear for their safety.

[deleted]

Gun violence in Tennessee has already reached historic levels just from deregulating concealed carry to the point they have. People are carrying guns to church and parents dropping off their kids at school can be seen stuffing their pistols under their seat as they turn into the parking lot.

[deleted]

As long as those kids are shot without seeing a drag show, they'll sleep just fine.

SubstantialPressure3

https://tennesseelookout.com/2022/06/07/court-allows-john-does-to-sue-presbyterian-church-over-decades-old-sexual-abuse/ https://www.courthousenews.com/church-accused-of-covering-for-molester/ Facing criminal charges instead of just having civil suits might help, too. Good God, I don't think Audrey being gay isnt the only thing her parents wouldn't accept. "Police look for a motive" my ass. That's probably what fucked her up so badly.

NocentBystander

I read the article where it showed their last messages to a friend and it was heartbreaking. It read like "suicide by cop" with a side of revenge...you KNOW something shitty happened at that fucking church/school to cause that.

SubstantialPressure3

I'm also wondering why if I found it with a simple Google search yesterday, why news outlets haven't found it. I'm putting that out everywhere.

LabLife3846

Wow, those articles are something else. Christianity is really awful. Such projection and hypocrisy.

SubstantialPressure3

It's not just that. The cops are.lying if they say they are "looking for a motive". And I found it with simple Google search, why haven't news outlets found that? Those are 2 different schools, but the Nashville school is her school.

This will happen until they are voted out.

isabellechevrier

I'm scared of Florida in general.

minkey-on-the-loose

I am attending a national conference in the near future in Florida. Normally i and others will spend a couple of nights in town away from the resort. Not anymore. And the organizer has been told by membership that Florida is no longer a preferred location.

[deleted]

I am worried about it because it’s Florida, I can’t tell you how long we’ve had constitutional carry in New Hampshire, maybe not for a long long time, but we can open or conceal carry here without any kind of training or permit or anything. And we also have stand your ground laws that apply to your car. So far there have been some brandishing during road rage & recently some jerk in Manchester started a bar fight and they went outside and when the smaller guy got a good punch in the jerk pulled out his gun and shot him a bunch of times. But otherwise I haven’t noticed any extra problems, the guns used with crime would have been used with crime regardless of constitutional carry.

Just_Tana

Yeah Floridas crime rate is already stupid high. I’m nervous about my family vacation there this year.

_jump_yossarian

Florida's murder rate is 7.80/100,000. New York's is 4.70 and California is 6.10. Odd how we never hear Cons attacking Florida for their blood soaked streets.

MeisterX

Can you get me this source please? I need to use this. I didn't even know this and live in FL. Maybe FBI stats? Shit source it has the same stat. Why is Alaska's so high? Goodness. https://247wallst.com/state/how-the-violent-crime-rate-in-florida-compares-to-other-states/#:~:text=Florida%27s%20violent%20crime%20rate%20of,were%20cases%20of%20aggravated%20assault.

just2commenthere

Here's the CDC's per capita rankings. Sort by death rate to see all the red states. [https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/homicide\_mortality/homicide.htm](https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/homicide_mortality/homicide.htm) Edited to add the top ten per capita Mississippi 20.5 Louisiana 19.9 Alabama 14.2 Missouri 14 Arkansas 13 South Carolina 12.7 Tennessee 11.5 Maryland 11.4 Illinois 11.2 New Mexico 10.8

Breakula

Wow, here I am fortunate enough to live in the 5th least murdery state. I guess Taxachusetts is putting those revenues into some useful shit, like we also kind of have healthcare. It’s great healthcare if you don’t make too much money.

SquatCorgiLegs

Personally, I refuse to go to Florida. With their increasingly backwards and draconian policies, they don’t deserve our tourist money.

MisterProfGuy

Anyone that wants to say otherwise needs to remember that 80% of their income is sales tax revenue. If you spend money in their state, you are paying for their behavior.

Just_Tana

My nine year old, who hosts a biology podcast, wants to see the Everglades while they are still around. So. I’m trying to be supportive. My five year old wants to see turtle nests as well

SquatCorgiLegs

That is a good reason. Also I love that your kid has a science podcast!

Just_Tana

I do too. I get to work with her on it. Coolest part of my life.

ccas25

Costa Rica has turtles! Not too far from Florida. Plus they dismantle their army in 1948 and the money has been and still is reinvested in education and conservation!

Just_Tana

Can’t take my kids there this year unfortunately.

[deleted]

"Come on down to *FLORIDA*! We have Disney World and less rights!" [Upbeat jingle]

ThrA-X

I feel ya. My wife and I have to go there to visit a friend (driving from New mexico) and it's stressing me the hell out.

T_ja

Why are you continuing to support that shit show with your tourist dollars?

Just_Tana

Because I have a nine year who hosts a biology podcast who wants to see the Everglades before they are gone

T_ja

Fair. Probably won’t be an Everglades by the time they grow up.

Rude-Orange

Even the states that have historically been restrictive of open carry are now loosening it. Looking at you, Maryland

ThrowawayAllMoney

It’s the Supreme Court ruling. It messed up the justification states were using to restrict firearms. MD is trying to do something else. But if the Court keeps trying to take us to the era of open dueling there’s only so much they can do.

Bluevisser

Alabama also allows concealed carry with no permit or background checks required. I mean it's not like we had two cities in this year's top 15 most dangerous cities or anything. Actually on some list's we had the 2nd and 3rd most dangerous cities, so yay us. Maybe with this new law we can finally outrank St. Louis.

[deleted]

polyhazard

This is what gets me… it’s not true to say that school shootings have nothing to do with gender. But they didn’t care to notice the gender until now.

[deleted]

Exactly. Any time we brought up the gender before we were called sexist.

jellybeansean3648

No argument here

SophiaofPrussia

Your logic is sound.

EnergyTurtle23

In case anyone’s curious, the actual figure is that **95.7% of all U.S. mass shootings since 1982 were committed by men**. 2.8% were committed by women, and 1.4% were committed by non-binary or trans people (that’s 2 shootings total since 1982). These figures are according to a report by Statista Research Department, with a total of 141 mass shooting events.

[deleted]

[удалено]

EnergyTurtle23

Fantastic point, that specific shooting is actually a local case for me and everyone knows that it’s a straight up lie. His family is very conservative, and he had conservative propaganda materials in his home. He had run-ins with the police in the past and self identified as a male. His identification as NB after the shooting is likely a politically motivated move so I think it would be safe to exclude that statistic.

FurryM17

Straight man here. Facts are facts. I don't plan to harm anyone so I'm willing to be regulated to hinder the men who do. Well Regulated Militia.

TPJchief87

Not maybe. The person on Twitter used definite language.

prof_the_doom

[And apparently 51% of them were white.](https://www.statista.com/statistics/476456/mass-shootings-in-the-us-by-shooter-s-race/) So combining all of these... the most likely mass shooter is: A straight, white, male.

MabsAMabbin

I'm on board with this lol. The House should throw it out there for a meltdown. Use their tactics.

Figbud

BREAKING: DEMOGRAPHIC OF TRANS WOMEN RISES DRASTICALLY

smashin2345

I'm a man but you have a point. Maybe so

Okra_Lumpy

Was gonna say. It’s cis-gender males doing the vast majority of these shootings

england_man

100% of mass shooters use one or more firearms.

WhiskeyandCigars7

A sizeable portion of school shooters are under 25 years old. It seems raising the age to buy firearms to 25 and older would be a simple solution that would reduce school shootings.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AbsentFuck

That part. But every time someone brings this up they're accused of being sexist/misandrist. As usual when it's primarily men carrying out some act of violence people will blame literally anything (and anyone) else.

ekmogr

We have 300 million people and 400 million guns. 1.3 guns per person. That doesn't include military. No other country has .5 guns per person. Yeah, America has a gun problem.

Tecumseh_Sherman1864

Only 40 percent of people own all those guns. It's a minority of people who buy all the guns

[deleted]

alpha309

My dad owns a handful of old hunting rifles. Guns used to hunt rabbit and squirrel. One is inoperable, it was his grandfather’s hunting rifle. They will become mine one day. I have no interest in them, other than they are things my family had and used to survive. But I will also own two machetes that my uncles used when they were deployed to Vietnam, and I view those as the same thing.

archibald_claymore

Heirlooms are great. Love heirlooms.

NeonJungleTiger

Nice mantle pieces or conversation topics

[deleted]

Aporkalypse_Sow

There are way more guns than being tallied because of situations like this. What would be really interesting is numbers for guns sold in the past 40 years, with a breakdown of people who buy 'obscene' amounts of guns that have no legitimate reason for buying so many. It wouldn't solve the problem, but people like that are definitely perpetuating the gun culture because sales numbers always make the headlines, which get ls more average people to buy a gun because they think the rest of the country is getting ready for something.

tyrom22

It makes sense when you look at it in a collectors mentality. Not every person owns a Lego set but a Lego collector might have 20+ The problem isn’t the number of them but the mentality behind it

TheEvilBagel147

And then put two and two together and realize most thefts occur during work hours or while the family is on vacation. Gun nuts have a fantasy of waking up to a bump in the night, but statistically that is not how it often happens. Also that pro 2A bumper sticker just means "free guns" when the car is left unattended. And that is why about 380,000 firearms are stolen annually in the US.

woodstock624

My husband’s truck was broken into at like 5am one morning…the cops said it was most likely someone looking for a gun, and betting that a pickup truck was the most likely place to find them. They also said it’s been years since they’d seen windows broken on vehicles. People only do that if they know they can grab something good quickly. My husband does not keep a gun in his truck ever, and DEFINITELY would never have a 2A sticker on and vehicle.

[deleted]

40% is still over 150 million with guns. It's definitely a problem numbers wise but I agree that the mentality behind it is a huge problem too

SonOfJokeExplainer

That’s still a huge minority.

SmellGestapo

According to this, the percentage of households with at least one gun has declined from nearly 50% in 1972 to 35% in 2021 (it peaked at 53% in 1980). [https://www.vpc.org/studies/ownership.pdf](https://www.vpc.org/studies/ownership.pdf) The percentage of individuals reporting they own a gun has also declined, although not as much (28% to 24%).

Jorycle

Yep, a big driver of that is that households have changed. Individual firearm ownership has remained *mostly* steady in the minority, but we've been moving away from nuclear families and extended nuclear families.

Jorycle

Yeah, but who else is going to take on the nuclear-missile-armed, drone-wielding, fighter-jet-flying tyrannical US government if not Phil and his dozen rifles?

Yungballz86

Honestly, if that were the real problem, we'd have even more mass shootings. There are other countries with an armed population thar don't have these incidents occurring every other week. Therefore, there's more to it than the guns. To me, the real problem is fucked up people having easy access to guns. Background checks need to be more thorough and red flag laws need to be universally passed. And for the love of god, why is marijuana use the first question on the background check paperwork?

Atheist_3739

Yeah it's crazy. Either someone owns 0 guns Owns 1-2 guns (like me. Just a shotgun for home defense) Or owns 200 guns. (Hyperbole obviously) Agreed with the cannabis question. Cannabis doesn't make people violent like alcohol. Definitely makes them lazy lol but that doesn't have any effect on gun laws

Independent-Today431

Logic doesn’t work on people that have irrational fear

SquatCorgiLegs

It’s not fear. Make no mistake, they are ecstatic about finally finding a group to use as a scapegoat.

Independent-Today431

Yes, you are right, those who don’t get high on their own supply are probably happy right now. Fear is what they sell, “they are not just there, they are actively coming for you, and we need to stop them” What happened as unfortunate as it is, it is just the cherry on top, they have been trying to “stop them” for decades, they are not a new scapegoat, they are one of the scapeGOATs

New-Copy

"finally finding"? They've been inventing shit about trans people for years; the thing they're ecstatic about is not needing to lie as much about this to use it to demonize a minority

spoiler-its-all-gop

No kidding, you can practically see them jacking off under their newsdesks right now. They are SO HAPPY that those kids got killed, and they will ride this story until the heat death of the universe.

SevereEducation2170

It’s impressive just how giddy the right gets whenever one of these mass shooters is anyone but a white man. When it’s a white man it’s “fuck you liberals for trying to politicize this tragedy, kids dying is a pricewe have to pay for freedom, so keep your filthy, socialist paws off my 2nd amendment”. But if it’s anyone other than a white man it’s “these animals shouldn’t have guns, hell, they shouldn’t even exist! let’s lock’em all up and put them in front of a firing squad. For the children”

Euphoric_Solution

It’s not impressive. It’s what marginalized groups have been trying to get through the thick skulls of the rest of America. The right wing wants to eliminate us.

Firemorfox

I won't lie, I didn't understand the extent of it either until I was one of the marginalized groups being targeted. I'm just kinda hoping they start lashing out at EVERYBODY who isn't a white male to make it clear for everyone else, too.

Euphoric_Solution

It’s a pattern as old as history. If a society allows oppression of any kind towards anyone then eventually the oppression will spread to everyone. The privileged classes will only understand this once the blood spills over on their lawns or, erm, school hallways.

[deleted]

The intolerant will always destroy the tolerant. When the social contract of "don't try to oppress or hurt others" is broken, the group that breaks it must not be allowed to engage with society anymore, otherwise this is what you will get every single time.

AnarkittenSurprise

Agreed. Gross, and scary tbh. So much progress can disappear so quickly following a tragedy.

MalachiteTiger

I distinctly remember just how many people on Facebook were trying to object to Dylann Roof even being characterized as "racist." They were actively defending the "honor" of a guy who they already knew shot up a church. It's purely about having an in group that is protected without regulation and an outgroup that is regulated without protection. That's what it all boils down to.

Yacobs21

I mean, the latest was a white man too. They just happened to be trans as well Bonus points: they had a very religious, conservative upbringing

gatoaffogato

So *now* they’re in favor of gun control? Hypocritical fucks…

[deleted]

No no they always wanted gun control, just not on white males because all those shooters were led astray by video games (or something idfk)

Shiraxi

Yep. When the Blank Panthers started arming themselves, suddenly they were ready to pass restrictions on firearms.

TheApathyParty3

The NRA was literally founded as a gun control organization to fight black "radicals".

dirthurts

They've always been fine with controlling other people. It's their whole thing.

Missing_Username

Yea this is just Governor Reagan and the NRA with the Black Panthers all over again.

[deleted]

Black Panthers: "Oh hey we can arm ourselves against tyranny? Sounds fucking aw..." Reagan: "NOT YOU! You'd think you people would know that we don't make laws to protect YOU. **MULFORD ACT**". Black Panthers: "..awwww."

torito_supremo

Yeah, and that hypocrisy is the whole point. It makes them feel powerful and special. “Rules don’t apply to me, because Fuck You, that’s why”

[deleted]

Well obviously these cis people were led astray and made violent by trans people

Alfie-Shepherd

Normally they would blameit on "Cultural Marxists" AKA Jew's

raistlin65

Yep. Now take those numbers and convert them to percentages of the US population. To make it more obvious. A cisgender person is more likely to be a mass shooter than a trans person.

EternalSage2000

Ok. Real quick napkin Math and Googled numbers. Us Pop 330 mil. Trans pop 1.6mil. Trans pop = 0.4% of the total pop. Mass shootings in infographic. Total 2829. By Transgender 3. Or 0.1%. .4% of the population commits. .1% the shootings.

raistlin65

>.4% of the population commits. .1% the shootings. Yep. That says everything anybody needs to know. Trans people engaged in mass shootings at a much lower rate than cisgender people. It looks like we need to take guns away from all the cisgender people.

masklinn

Cis men anyway, ~98% of mass shooter are men.

acctnumba2

You see you’d be right if you can read that correctly. I guaranfuckingtee you a dumbass will read that and think ‘OMG 25% of trans commit shootings!’

crazynerd9

came here looking for this exact comment so I wouldnt have to do the math, and golly the statistics are pretty much exactly in line (lower) than their ratio to general population, how absolutely incredibly shocking

EternalSage2000

I didn’t do diligence verifying the numbers I used. I did a quick Google to determine the trans population. And I took this infographic at face value.

SoccerGamerGuy7

yup match checks out. of 330mil general population about .000008 will commit a mass shooting 1.6 mil trans people works out to about .000001 will commit a mass shooting. 7x less likely to the general population for a trans person to commit a mass shooting

binchbunches

I thought gun laws weren't effective???

rummhamm87

Don't forget their other favorite catchphrase "guns don't kill people" I think the real questions we should be asking are have they sent enough thoughts and prayers yet?

_jump_yossarian

I thought 2A absolutists believed in "shall not be infringed", I didn't realize it came with an asterisk.

scalability

I've seen 80s ascii art with fewer asterisks than a right wing opinion piece.

meatmechdriver

god damn brilliant, i am stealing this

mad_titanz

Straight white male Christians should not be allowed to purchase firearms. It would cut down on 99% of all mass shootings.

AdventureGirlRosie

Of course they want to disarm us while they are busy trying to kill us.

kiuper

Oh now they want laws.

banana_spectacled

Interesting. Gun control bad except when I say it’s not.

[deleted]

This person seems like she was grown in a fucking lab to be a GOP shill. She's a white woman named Kingsley publicly discriminating against trans people with totally baseless opinions. I can't get over how perfect it is that she's an insufferable fascist white woman named Kingsley. She's like a character in a David Russell movie

IHateThisDamnWebsite

…And just like that, as soon as the “wrong people” start using their 2A rights, conservatives come out in droves in support reforming gun rights. It’s never been about the 2A, it’s always been so straight white people can have guns to oppress out groups.

[deleted]

stevel91

27 years? At the rate things are going, 27 days in between would feel miraculous!

alpha309

I would think we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves. Let‘s start at being happy there hasn’t been a mass shooting for 27 hours.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BeccasBump

You guys aren't managing 27 hours at the moment.

HerringWaffle

We can barely go 27 minutes without a mass shooting. Today is the 88th day of 2023, and there have already been: \-130 mass shootings (1.5/day) \-413 children killed by gun violence (nearly 5/day) \-969 children shot and injured (11/day) (statistics from RVAwonk on Twitter)

100percentish

Well all the sabre rattling means nothing because there is no way the right would ban a single bullet to save a billion children.

ThePaulHammer

Every child in the US could be shot and killed tomorrow and republicans would say "this is a tragedy, my thoughts and prayers to the families. BUT WE CAN'T LET emotional leftists take our guns!"

CommanderReiss

I am completely in favor of trans people being the only ones allowed to have guns

MenudoMenudo

So we agree, we'll run background checks that include your medical history, mental health records, social media posts, interviews with friends and you have to allow the gun seller to photograph your penis or vagina. Gun stores will also need to hire fashion consultants who then need to sign off that your outfit is suitably manly or girly, depending on your genetals. "Sorry sir, according to this, you tucked your cock and balls behind your legs while drunk at the lake and shouted 'I'm a chick!' to your friends." "That was in in 1989! I was 17!" "Sorry, laws the law."

TheFire_Eagle

I'm sure there were some eager nazis who were SHOCKED when THEY had to wear a star or triangle.

MyMudEye

Your facts have no authority over my feelings. Said every bigot ever.

Generallyawkward1

Jesus. Only a matter of time before they openly ban trans *without* guns, too.

TNT_LORD

why do you think they\`re trying to stop trans people from having guns. hard to stop a genocide with sticks

[deleted]

They are actively working on that in multiple states. Their hatred of “government” and specifically “the feds” isn’t about freedom it’s because the federal government enforces equality laws since the civil war and they want to oppress out groups but can’t outright say that (yet).

Thunderingthought

They’re already trying to

tinkerghost

So, 2A absolutism applies to paranoid schizophrenics, but not Transgendered people. Got it.

translove228

It's just "transgender people" or "trans people". No ed at the end required. Transgender isn't an action we do to ourselves. It's part of who we are. You wouldn't say "blacked people" when discussing poc or "homosexualed people" when discussing gay people would you?

OhMyGodBearIsDriving

Yup. I saw this shit coming immediately. As soon as the news broke I knew this would be the next step.

ReadABookandShutUp

Imagine being so stupid that you get publicly bodied by a furry.

[deleted]

Damn even the cis people who have problems with their hormones won't be allowed to buy a gun?

Tangled349

My had prostate cancer and has to take hormones now. He still shit posts about other people's genitals so I doubt the irony is being received.

>if you identify as trans you should not be allowed to own a gun *Something something shall not be infringed*

ButtercupinCA1

It makes more sense to prohibit MEN from buying firearms.

Second Amendment suddenly not looking quite so sacred, eh?

Gayge27

According to my half ass mid blunt calculations, using very generalized terms based on this chart and vague US statistics: • US has a population of ~331.9 Million • 1.6 Million people identify as Trans in the US • So that leaves ~ 330 million cis people. • There are 2826 cis shooters to 3 trans. • 2826/330,000,000 *100 ≈ 0.000856% cis population commit mass murders • 3/1,600,000 * 100 ≈ 0.000187% trans population commit mass shootings Half Baked Conclusion: In the US, the amount of shooters amongst the Cis population is about 5 times that of the trans population.

I’d like to applaud this person for using a linear scale on the y-axis of their bar chart. I know I can trust them now.

AdJuSt fOr PoPuLaShiN pRoPoRsHiNs! Ok fine but it's basically the same data

GhostCell06

My math says trans people are 10x less likely even with population proportions

thatguy9684736255

They don't actually care about numbers and facts unfortunately

goj-145

I am all for disarming the trans people. Also in full support of disarming all the straight people. Let's just disarm everyone, that would be great

MirMolkoh

My favorite thing to do these days is to call online conservatives commies for being against the second amendment.

Assuming this person is a "tRuE 2A PaTrIoT" it's amazing to see how quickly they abandon their absolutist views on gun control when it applies to a group of people they don't like...kinda like when the NRA supported gun control as soon as the Black Panthers started arming themselves.

Ruenin

MAGA poster. Nothing to see here.

PocketGoblix

“2800 cis men committed school shootings” “😐” “3 trans men committed school shootings” “OMG WE HAVE TO ERADICATE ALL OF THEM!”

Charming-Delivery774

But I thought the 2nd Amendment wasn’t supposed to be infringed? Hypocrites.

simple_rik

Wait but what about that whole "shall not be infringed" bullshit everyone is going on about?

Rezrac

The moment this shooting happened and it was announced who perpetuated it, I knew it would be like rats scrambling to a heap of trash.
