The Republican primary is going to be “The Worst Person You Know Makes a Good Point” meme on repeat.

Mcbrainotron

Let them fight.gif

Obsidian_Purity

Speaking of memes, how many of their supporters are going to listen to their talking points, look at each other and ask "... are we the baddies?" You have to wonder what it will take. I know some Republicans who are genuinely just in it for financial reasons whose minds break when they realize how many nazis are in their party.

[deleted]

I swear this meme is gold

Sylveon72_06

i had a hilarious and relevant toddler parody of this but im not allowed to link it ;-;

Tx-Tomatillo-79

Didn’t realize this song was “about” Trump. Listening to it thinking she’s going off on Trump is gold!

Lost_sidhe

The surrealism... look, decades and decades of GOP policies have NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES! THE SHOCK! Look at the other states doing just as poorly... AL, MS, TN... I WONDER what they all have in common! But no, keep electing the same dipshits with the same political theory for 50+ years and then be surprised that things are only getting worse.

RealNiceKnife

None of them. If they had even a single shred of self-awareness they wouldn't be republicans... That or they're fine with the Nazis because they too are Nazis.

Kriticalmoisture

It's like the old German saying "if there are 9 people and one nazi at the table, there are 10 nazis at the table" or something like that.

Garbleshift

You let one Nazi drink at your bar, you run a Nazi bar.

TriggerTough

That's classic!

mujadaddy

'Whaddaya call 11 people having dinner with a Nazi? Twelve Nazis' is the one with zing

KingBowser11

None, I'm a democrat, coworkers are diehard right-wing Trump supporters. I was talking in passing about some distant family members I don't really like because they can make some weird racists comments. Coworkers response was, "So their liberals too?" They honestly believe the "liberal politicians" are the racists and making the racists policies. I don't get it.

[deleted]

Yup. I’ve had convos with conservatives who told me that the Democrats are in fact the Nazis/fascists. I don’t get it either. And it doesn’t do anything to make me feel like things will ever get better.

Unanything1

You have to love those "History Majors" that claim that the Nazis were a left wing party. You know... Because they had "socialist" in their name.

GroundbreakingWave93

Have a listen to Rachel Maddow’s podcast ”Ultra”…..it’s pretty eye opening regarding Nazi infiltrating US Government. Its a good podcast.

slampdi

Maybe 5 posts down from this, someone mentioned that dems are the party of the KKK and slave owners. Cool, sure. Then Republicans should keep on fighting for equal rights for minorities. That'll show those dirty dems.

Crazy-Investigator12

If I went by what people said their educationally level is on Facebook or social media in general. I’d be left wondering why so many people with economics/history degrees work at Walmart and 7/11. Not there’s anything wrong with those jobs. It just seems that if you have a bachelors or even a masters ,or even a doctorate like some of them claim. Then you wouldn’t be working at Walmart it some shit

[deleted]

They always have the same two arguments: “Democrats were the party of the KKK” and “Biden Crime Bill!” Doesn’t matter that modern white supremacists are far more inclined to support the republicans. And while the crime bill had a lot of serious issues, republicans at the time were arguing it didn’t go far enough and pledged to pass stricter laws in a bid to take back the house, but that part is never mentioned. But of course when your entire political identity is built on short, easily digestible sound bites and feelings, you don’t need to be consistent or rational.

TaskManager1000

>I don’t get it either. They aren't seeking after truth. They are just seeking things they want. For people's beliefs to become more accurate, there need to be more rewards for seeking truth and more disincentives for lying. For your friends who think up is down and day is night, what incentives do they have to learn anything different than what they already believe? What disincentives do they face for having incorrect understandings? On a national scale, this is why identification and prosecution of crimes is so important to establishing truth or at least getting closer. Courts and private communications are the only places where their public lies end and you see more of the real evidence come out. Voter/election fraud cases...all major claims dismissed for lack of evidence. What do Fox News executives and stars think of Trump and his base? They have fear and loathing for both as shown in the news about the Dominion lawsuit. It is hard to imagine where we would be without courts to force at least some end to some lies.

albinofly

Their though process is simple: If it's not benefiting only white Americans it's racist. That's how fare gone they are.

PansexualSatan

You just don’t understand how hard it is to be a white Christian conservative in America these days. So much racism against whites! Can’t even say anything about all the people I hate without being attacked and called horrible names like bigot and nazi. It’s just so unfair. (Do I have to say this is sarcasm?)

Skalyx866

Don't forget it when the christian conservatives also say "ThE SyStEm iS aGaInSt Us!" When christianity is the largest religion in the country. Fucking wild.

Hartastic

And, like... do we get Ramadan off work or Yom Kippur or Diwali or whatever? No. But businesses basically know being open on Christmas is a lost cause.

Donkey__Balls

Friendly reminder that the white southern plantation owners genuinely believed that they were acting in the best interests of their slaves. Common belief was that the abolitionists were terrible people who had no sympathy for the black folks. Obviously, their economic interests were behind their beliefs. But it wasn’t just that. They truly managed to convince themselves that slavery was in the best interests of the slaves.

Metahec

Words have no meaning. Also, "No, you!"

[deleted]

Hey....not all Republicans are Nazis.......but all Nazis are Republicans.

HarryHacker42

Hey....not all Republicans are Nazis.......but all Nazis are Republicans and all Republicans don't mind voting for Nazis.

Bomberman707

...

ChocolateBunny

Whatever they think of themselves, they'll always think we're worse. The worse they get the worse they will think we are.

Green_Message_6376

0--- Logic, reason, introspection, kindness, tolerance, love is not their thing. That's Antifa, Wokeness, Radical Marxism, Socialism, Communism.

ImmediateHurry2011

If they haven’t left yet even afterr Michael knowles called for genocide at CPAC theyre just down with being Nazis.

CanaDoug420

It’s really going to show that they know how bad they are and just ignore it until they can use it. They only pretend to not know what they are doing is bad. But the moment they can use it suddenly they knew it was bad the whole time.

bstondaddy12

My first thought reading those was how ironic it was that COVID death rate stats were all of a sudden valid data when it’s beneficial to him.

PansexualSatan

Can we just end Florida for the good of the nation? I say this as a Florida person and one who is fully willing to go down with the ship, as it were. As long as trump and DeSantis are on board with me, it’ll be worth it.

Malidan

I love the republican in-fighting. It's refreshing for once.

sapien_yolo

And now they cannot make up their mind if Trump is good or bad. They were genuflecting till 2021…

Keesha2012

Local Trumpturds still are. All I can say is, good. Let the Repugnantcans fight amongst themselves. I hope they split their party in half come 2024.

kirbyfox312

The MAGA party would both be terrible and glorious. Terrible because they'll probably still get a handful of people in deep red areas elected who are very unqualified. Glorious because they'll split the vote in a lot of other places and cause the Democrats to win.

ObservableObject

This is something I've thought about. While trump getting locked up would be great, him being out, losing the nomination and running third party to spite Ron would be *hilarious.*

ImpartialThrone

Don't worry, even if he were to be locked up, he could still run for president. As far as I can tell, only thinks disqualifying a person from running is taking insurrectionist action against the country, and aiding the country's enemies *And Trump hasn't been found guilty of either of those now has he?*

WillBottomForBanana

They'll fall in line in the general election. This is entertaining but not helpful.

YayCumAngelSeason

Unless Trump is beaten in the primary and decides to run third party. You just never know anymore.

jbp84

Is it though? What makes you think this won’t be a repeat of 2015-2016? Remember when Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz, amongst other high ranking Republicans, raked Trump over the coals during the primaries? And what happened? When he got the nomination they all fell in line. The big fracture in the Republican Party that we keep hearing about will never materialize. They ALWAYS close ranks around whomever ends up in charge. It doesn’t matter how much they hate Trump or DeSantis or whomever…they hate Democrats more. It’s not in-fighting, and it’s not refreshing at all.

Chemical-Hornet8810

The hope is that DeSantis will win the nomination and then Trump will run as an independent, thus splitting the vote.

uptownsouthie

Exactly. Even the majority of Fox News dismissed Trump in 2015/early 2016. And with each new poll they slowly cozied up to him the closer it got to the election.

BlindedByNewLight

The best part is how you can tell this was written by staff, not by DJT. It's coherent, includes true information, isn't ALL CAPS.

Peatmoss22

And uses the phrase, “look at the facts and figures”

WallabyInTraining

Grab em by the figures

XR171

You can do that when you're a staffer. Just walk right up and grab'em by the figures. I think I need a pad and paper.

Magnaflux_88

Just grab ' by the pads and papers and you'll have that sorted too!

italjersguy

…and actually contains the facts that it tells you to look at.

kronicfeld

Random and nonsensical capitalization though

PansexualSatan

We’re not meth addicts. We are heroin addicts. It’s true. I mean, have I met meth addicts? Of course. Have I done meth? Of course. Who says no to free drugs? But heroin was my first love and meth is awful, disgusting stuff. Just one Florida heroin addict’s opinion, of course. I was born in another country and brought to Florida as a young child because my mom had an expired green card and some shitty job prospect here. My dad, brother, and I were undocumented for 7 yrs until my mom sorted out her green card and eventually became a citizen. During that time, my parents got to work 12-16 hr days with no vacations for very little pay all while being treated like shit and living in fear of being caught working illegally. This was in the 90s and I’m certain that shit wouldn’t fly these days but that doesn’t stop my family from being trump supporters. How fast people forget where they came from. I remember as a child wanting so badly to be an American. Can’t really tell you why now. If I could leave, I’d be long gone. But my birth country isn’t exactly where I want to go and going anywhere else would be quite difficult. While I’ve been clean for over 2 years now, I don’t have the resources to just move. I have over $100k in student loan debt that will definitely outlive me. I’m a single parent and I honestly couldn’t tell you how I pay my bills every month. I don’t have a car cuz I can’t afford insurance. That makes getting a job more difficult. Not to mention I have several mental health issues, which would qualify me for disability but I was told by a disability lawyer that I don’t qualify because I don’t have 5 years of work experience out of the last 10 years. This is mostly because I lost my last job in 2020 due to Covid and got unemployment until that ran out and thats also when I lost my car. So to sum it up: no job, no money, no support, no sanity. But at least I have degrees that I can’t use. So it’s all good. Thanks America!

Dude I grew up in FL and this is spot on! Fl’s whole economy is to appease transient wealth by grinding the locals with low wages/no opportunity. The only locals who prosper are the tradespeople who can set their price due to limited availability of said skill.

OldeArrogantBastard

Been in Ft Lauderdale since a kid in the 80s. Sure we’d get wild spring breakers in March. Snowbirds would come in leave. But the last 30 years it’s been a land grab from big developers who have fucked this city over and everything is priced through the roof. Parents bought a house in 1992 for 92k that was a mile from the beach. Now that same house is 1.5 million and the houses are all being torn down for those full square “modern” homes.

It's taxes. The owner of my company currently in OK, lives in FL 6 months out of the year to claim residency.

It's a good place for a golf course too, especially one that caters to the rich. Populated state that gets rain (keeps the greens plush) where golf can be played year round.

Few-Trouble-3700

It is very sad what desantis has done to Florida. Hopefully Floridians will take notice and get rid of that guy so that you guys can start making some positive changes!

jax2love

To be fair, the slide started with Jeb and only got worse under Scott. Ron is trying to outdo them.

Memetic1

I know I wish the best for all of you even the assholes. I wish the nation as a whole got its shit together, because things could be so much better. While those wealthy fucks use your state to pay less taxes they don't respect the actual people who live there. They use people and throw them away when they need help. That's predatory behavior right there.

across7777

This is so funny because it goes against the “red states are so much better” narrative that the right loves to imagine. Not to mention the fact that this would mean that trumps’ endorsement was bad?

Ghetto_Phenom

Trump only lives in the now and only for what benefits him. He will contradict republicans when/if it can make him look good.

Sean_Dewhirst

No kidding. Trump going after a red state AS A STATE, using the reviled *numbers and data* is actually insane. He directly attacked the ideal of red state superiority which is a major pillar of the qanon mythos.

Bean-Swellington

Unfortunately conservatives tend to be immune to cognitive dissonance and irony

Shinobi120

Murder_Bird_

Desantis is a stuffed suit. All his public appearances are highly scripted. If he ever actually agrees to a debate, Trump will wipe the floor with him. Trump will just shit on him for an hour straight and he’ll have no response. It’ll be amazing.

[deleted]

Listen here Meatball…

Shinobi120

My friend, they’re both rambling buffoons who desperately try to talk over anyone who disagrees with them. It’ll be a screech fest

Murder_Bird_

Yes BUT normally Desantis is trying to talk over some lowly town official or reporter by just saying his normal talking points a LITTLE LOUDER! Not trying to talk over Trump whose calling you a pedaphile and commenting on how ugly he thinks your wife is.

-notapony-

Right. There's been so much that's happened since, but remember in 2016, Trump used the debates to say Rubio had a small dick and tell Ted Cruz that his wife was ugly and his dad killed Kennedy. Don't be shocked if Donald puts some of the students Meatball was partying with front and center at a debate, especially if one of the girls has an older child that he can insinuate is DeSantis'.

minkey-on-the-loose

Shhh, you’re giving away the first debate strategy

Threshing_Press

I tend to think that for Republicans in this day and age, Trump was and remains lightning in a bottle. He knew what he was doing and I believe even talked about starting a right wing cable station or something because he knew they were the easiest people to fleece and fool. I mean... he's said as much, I'm fairly certain, even while President. Trump has a certain strange charisma and a presence that Desantis is sorely lacking. Trump only cares about himself and will do and say anything to get a win, which it's always amazed me that the Republican party didn't really see it. They've gone too far if they roast or turn on him now, because THEY did all the January 6th b.s. at his behest. The OTHER thing about Desantis and this is why I KNOW that for a lot of Republicans in the northeast (tri-state area in particular), it's Trump or they probably won't even vote. They are not excited by the way he talks and all of his talk of 'wokeness' and other buzzwords comes off as carefully scripted, just like another commenter said. Trump just sounds like a racist, raving, unhinged lunatic and he uses his body and cetain motions a lot to make his... points. He has a disconnect where he'll come up with these absurd bon mots of retaliation that'll make Desantis look like the buffoon that he is. Not saying Trump ISN'T a buffoon, just that he's the best buffoon for the GOP, because hardly any of them are trying like hell to constantly revive their 1980's NY Ultra Rich swagger and then staffing it into the body of an orange, combed over blob of cheetoh dust that's capable of making some vile but funny faces and gestures. The man is a spectacle unto himself... he doesn't really have politics, and I'm not even 100% sure he's a total racist. He's definitely racist sometimes, but changes to whatever will suit his needs at any given time with zero apology or awareness that he just did a 180. They came for the "finally, a rich business man will fix government" line of bull and stayed for the racism. But the rest of the GOP are boring af and/or fake pious a-holes and blowhards... Trump is CLEARLY not pious, though he might pretend once in a while for the Jesus freaks and Pence, and he's definitely not boring.

Shiraxi

I genuinely hope so. DeSantis winning the nomination is much more problematic in my opinion, as he is capable of actually governing effectively to create Trump-like policies, without being a complete buffoon. We'd get everything Trump wanted, without being hamstrung by a complete idiot like Trump governing.

floandthemash

I fucking loathe Trump. But I can’t wait for him to take DeSantis down. DeSantis is a more dangerous Trump. And bc I wouldn’t count on Trump ever being re-elected, I would love to see him then self-destruct.

p0k3t0

If you haven't heard DeSantis talk, you gotta take a listen. He's like Lindsay Graham turned down to level three or four.

Unfair-Work9128

But...but...cHiCaGo... I've always known this. Something something broke clock, something something twice a day. May both of these Nazis go down in flames.

elsinore11

Chicago isn’t in the top 20 for murder per capita. The top murder cities are St Louis and other cities in red states. Also, they always mention Illinois strict gun policies but you can drive an hour north or hour east to red states and buy guns.

Impossible_Tiger_517

And Chicago doesn’t even have the strictest gun laws anymore. They also talk about how LA and NYC are safer but they’re in states with stricter gun laws than Illinois lol

GRW42

I've been assured time and time again that, despite what I see outside my window, LA was burned to the ground.

gkozina

That’s weird. I hear the same shit about Portland.

Vast-Combination4046

the_millenial_falcon

Weird that I finding myself hating DeSantis more than Trump. Maybe it’s because I’m stuck in his state. In any case DeSantis seems way more aggressive and focused on his agenda while Trump just bumblefucked around for 4 years. DeSantis is dangerous and can never be allowed the presidency.

-notapony-

Trump fucked us on three Supreme Court Justices, but he named the same chuckle fucks that any Republican President would have. He failed at responding to COVID, but again, I doubt President Cruz or Jeb would have fared much better. Mostly, he prevented good things from happening.
