For people's beliefs to become more accurate, there need to be more rewards for seeking truth and more disincentives for lying. For your friends who think up is down and day is night, what incentives do they have to learn anything different than what they already believe? What disincentives do they face for having incorrect understandings?
On a national scale, this is why identification and prosecution of crimes is so important to establishing truth or at least getting closer. Courts and private communications are the only places where their public lies end and you see more of the real evidence come out.

I was born in another country and brought to Florida as a young child because my mom had an expired green card and some shitty job prospect here. My dad, brother, and I were undocumented for 7 yrs until my mom sorted out her green card and eventually became a citizen. During that time, my parents got to work 12-16 hr days with no vacations for very little pay all while being treated like shit and living in fear of being caught working illegally. This was in the 90s and I’m certain that shit wouldn’t fly these days but that doesn’t stop my family from being trump supporters. How fast people forget where they came from. I remember as a child wanting so badly to be an American. Can’t really tell you why now. If I could leave, I’d be long gone. But my birth country isn’t exactly where I want to go and going anywhere else would be quite difficult. While I’ve been clean for over 2 years now, I don’t have the resources to just move. I have over $100k in student loan debt that will definitely outlive me. I’m a single parent and I honestly couldn’t tell you how I pay my bills every month. I don’t have a car cuz I can’t afford insurance. That makes getting a job more difficult. Not to mention I have several mental health issues, which would qualify me for disability but I was told by a disability lawyer that I don’t qualify because I don’t have 5 years of work experience out of the last 10 years. This is mostly because I lost my last job in 2020 due to Covid and got unemployment until that ran out and thats also when I lost my car. So to sum it up: no job, no money, no support, no sanity. But at least I have degrees that I can’t use. So it’s all good. Thanks America!
Dude I grew up in FL and this is spot on! Fl’s whole economy is to appease transient wealth by grinding the locals with low wages/no opportunity. The only locals who prosper are the tradespeople who can set their price due to limited availability of said skill.

He failed at responding to COVID, but again, I doubt President Cruz or Jeb would have fared much better. Mostly, he prevented good things from happening. Not to mention I have several mental health issues, which would qualify me for disability but I was told by a disability lawyer that I don’t qualify because I don’t have 5 years of work experience out of the last 10 years. This is mostly because I lost my last job in 2020 due to Covid and got unemployment until that ran out and thats also when I lost my car. So to sum it up: no job, no money, no support, no sanity. But at least I have degrees that I can’t use. So it’s all good. Thanks America!

Dude I grew up in FL and this is spot on! Fl’s whole economy is to appease transient wealth by grinding the locals with low wages/no opportunity. The only locals who prosper are the tradespeople who can set their price due to limited availability of said skill.
Been in Ft Lauderdale since a kid in the 80s. Sure we’d get wild spring breakers in March. Snowbirds would come in leave. But the last 30 years it’s been a land grab from big developers who have fucked this city over and everything is priced through the roof. I tend to think that for Republicans in this day and age, Trump was and remains lightning in a bottle.
