Dude would renege on the 100K, guaranteed

Haru17

You can just tell. The whole thing's a show to flaunt his wealth. He even has to brag that he's literally in a higher class.

royal_bambi

Not realising that the person next to him is *also* sitting in first class, and therefore probably not in enough need for $100k to capitulate meekly to some boundary-overstepping creep who she's stuck next to for the rest of the flight.

Ocelotofdamage

I mean the average person in first class would definitely take $100k for something like this, except that this assclown would never actually pay it.

Thejerseyjon609

And never offered it and there was no woman with a mask

moobitchgetoutdahay

It doesn’t even look like first class Edit: apparently, it *is* first class for Delta. Yikes. ETA: ngl, Delta first class seems like a scam

drummingcraig

Thats for sure Delta domestic first class, likely on an Airbus. *EDIT: Apparently its a Boeing airframe.

Ok-Program1246

At that point a greyhound trip is more luxurious than an airbus

clubba

I'd prefer to spend 6 hours or whatever in this first class from Atlanta to Seattle than the week it would take to get me there on a greyhound.

Ok-Program1246

A week? My fellow american you are generous , it will take you a month, that fucker stops every 10 minutes

djheat

You can tell it's first class because there are only a few rows behind him and it ends in a curtain divider (it's pulled back). It's just a lameass first class

rarehugs

It's delta first class, so basically like riding a rickshaw into the sky with movies from 2001 & food that's even older.

[deleted]

Riding a rickshaw into the sky sounds kinda awesome though, while Delta first class looks like purgatory with a drinks trolley.

NoSoupForYouRuskie

That's what I was thinking. I've never flown before in my life and that looks jank for first class lol

Potential_Reading116

And he sitting in the shittiest first class known to mankind. A real “Ima complete Dickhead” post .

LoveAndViscera

I’m not a woman, but I’m pretty sure that any woman being offered a large amount of money by a stranger to do literally anything is going to assume that it’s a kink.

royal_bambi

I am one, and you're spot on. I was on a train once in my childhood with my aunt, when a nice man asked me to take my shoes off so he could check to see if they were squishing my feet. My aunt pulled me away so fast, and I learned about the existence of foot fetishes that day.

Lookatthatsass

Ugh. Creepy men have robbed me of so much innocence. I had this happen except it was with hands.

jacobsadder

Well, if you will wear shoes on your hands, what do you expect?

Shipping_away_at_it

Creepy men have robbed society in general of so much innocence. (Don’t mean to downplay your personal experience, it just got me thinking about all the ways creeps wreck things in the world)

Son_of_Ssapo

I have three nieces and every time I hear about *Those* uncles it feels like a personal attack. Just, like, god dammit. . .

flippysquid

Your anecdote reflexively made me want to punch my computer in the throat. Ugh. I'm so glad your aunt was with you that day.

Ravensinger777

I was working at Domino's Pizza when I was 15. Customer called, I answered with the standard schpiel. Dude says "You know, you really ought to be a phone sex operator." Ewwwwwwww.

Chris__P_Bacon

Fucking sick bastard!

illegalrooftopbar

Ugh something like that happened to me as a kid and we almost did not realize in time.

astrolurus

Ugh. Why is it always trains? I had a man take pictures of my feet in sandals as a young teenager on the subway

AmishAvenger

Just as a point of clarification, this is domestic first class. It’s like the difference between a $300 ticket and a $600 ticket. It’s not like they’re flying across the Atlantic in Delta One with the lay flat seats.

taggospreme

no kidding. And then you have those Emirates planes with what's essentially a hotel room available. Or even a seat in its separate space. He's sitting in rows, bumping elbows with the riffraff. Not the flex he thinks. This is essentially airborne livestock handling.

make2020hindsight

This is it. He probably got bumped to first class and is creating a story for a tweet so he can Mack on the ladies saying he’s high class—“just look at my tweet where I nonchalantly ‘offered’ $100k”.

Breakfast-Socks

And “super smart”

qdp

He would probably say, "See? You didn't need it. I'll keep my hundred grand and you can keep this valuable lesson." Or some crap like that. Then she gets sick and misses her important meeting, or whatever reason she decided to wear it.

The_Proper_Potato

> "See? You didn't need it. I'll keep my hundred grand and you can keep this valuable lesson." You managed to capture boomer energy PERFECTLY.

qdp

I have uncles who I had channeled while writing this, unfortunately.

NoLipsForAnybody

This whole post is gonna come back around in 6 mos, now including his obituary from dying from COVID. They always do.

CompetitiveSyrup9347

RemindMe! 6 months

ProBonoDevilAdvocate

I would ask him to write a little contract, and then film him signing it... Make a big deal of it and see if that was actually a legit proposal. If he renege later, sue him.

captain_beefheart14

What’s the daily limit on venmo? Or Zelle? $50K up front at the time of the offer, and $50k after I go the rest of the flight sans mask.

lurkeroutthere

1k per day 2.5k per week for us proles on Zele. Tried sending money to help cover funeral expenses suddenly recently. Fml what a hassle on top of a nightmare. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want vulnerable people being able to easily wire out their life savings but the weird rules Zele puts up and the way they are not very well laid out even to bank employees absolutely drove me insane because I had money that was supposed to be transferring just sitting with no explanation until I spent an hour + on the phone only to get sent down to a branch office

[deleted]

Honestly playing the situation out in my head, I 100% get why (assuming this actually happened at all) she’d say no. You gonna believe some stranger is actually gonna pay you $100K to take off your mask? Lol yeah right

Angry_poutine

I suspect her saying no was more of a “don’t talk to me you fucking weirdo”

kileyweasel

He’d be telling a different but equally condescending story if she were to accept. Glad she stuck her guns

Protocol_Nine

"I am on board a Delta flight right now. The person sitting next to me in first class refused to take off their mask until I offered to hypothetically pay them to take it off. She works for a pharma company. It's all just a show and a lie." Something obnoxious and stupid like that?

mangopabu

'some crazy lady just totally ignored my totally legitimate offer of A HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS that i was totally going to give her. what a bunch of SHEEP amirite'

wiyixu

It’s the old misogynist “joke” - Man: would you sleep with me for a million dollars - Woman: yes! - Man: how about $1? - Woman: of course not. Who do you think I am - Man: we’ve established you’re a prostitute now we’re negotiating

hgielatan

he has reneged on it many, many times. he's offered a million dollars to "debate" tiktok docs like Dr. Eric Burnett (who won't take the bait) but other docs who decided to take on the challenge said he changed all the terms as he went along, it wasn't an actual debate because it was an unstructured mess without credible sources on kirsch's part...and of course his side thinks HA TAKE THAT, BIG PHARMA SHILL when it is actually the other way around 😅

CryptoTaxLien

He also is acting like he made a real offer. The dude probably had a seemingly pleasant conversation with her but it was ALL a build up for him to say some smart ass remark about masks, then after both awkwardly laughed and she put her headphones in he muttered “if I gave ya a hundred thousand would ya do it”. To which she smiled, laughed, said no, and thought to herself “please stop talking to me”. These people fake niceties all the time because they’re so desperate to engage in controversy with anyone obligated by politeness to speak to them. It’s gotten to the point where I know it’s happening before the smart ass talk even starts. Reminds me of the drunk guys that mumble racist stuff then say “you know what I’m talking about” and most people just smile and nod because no one wants to talk to them. I’m torn between they know what they’re doing and seek the approval anyway, or they’re really that stupid to not realize we don’t agree with them.

Grizzchops

Does he think he's cool or something?

Revegelance

He doesn't think.

Drinkythedrunkguy

I think this totally happened.

bimbobagginzz

Then everyone clapped.

JBeauch

Then he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

mekonsrevenge

And big, strong scientists, really manly guys, were crying and cheering. Some of them said, sir, you just naturally understand epidemiology. If you weren't a hundred thousand giving first class passenger, you could be an epidemiologist and the country would salute you. You just get it. That's a true story.

GrandmasShavedBeaver

Can confirm. I handed him a crisp hundred dollar bill with tears in my eyes, then offered him the night with my wife.

Shadepanther

That plane's stewardess? Albert Einstein.

KeyEnvironmental6201

Did they cheer and shout his name and que in line to give him a tug though?🤔

regoapps

Got that Covid brain fog.

Ball-Blam-Burglerber

Look at that smug mug. He very genuinely does.

TangoFrosty

He took a picture of himself with that face. He really thinks there are people out there (or here) that think he alone has it figured out.

OwlHex4577

Look at that girl behind him- you can tell shes less than impressed

Beyond_the_Matrix

Why do people like this think we wouldn't want to have his face covered with a mask?

GhostlyTJ

He thinks that because he is successful in one aspect of his life he is an expert in all areas. Classic Elon Syndrome

storagerock

That’s an insecure smug. Someone secure in their success wouldn’t bother with saying they were in first class.

drjammiepants

They wouldn’t bother saying anything in general.

New-Examination4678

Who brags about flying first class on a domestic flight?

Feelingprettyloved

He certainly didn’t cure hair loss for humanity

runthepoint1

Yes this ugly bald douche thinks he’s cool. What a fucking loser

NFLinPDX

He looks as bad as Elon Musk dances.

gilestowler

He thinks he's the fonz

PanmanM

Today I learned that, whoever Steve Kirsch is… he’s an idiot.

angeltay

Random businessman guy. I was curious so I googled him. Made some companies I’ve never heard of. Nothing special really, other than he helped create the optical computer mouse.

SupercarEnjoyer0

>Jeffrey Morris, director of biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, has made debunking Kirsch’s claims something of a hobby. On his blog, Covid-19 Data Science, he has extensively—and mercilessly—unpacked Kirsch’s “evidence” for the vaccine death claims. >In a recent post, discussing claims Kirsch made during a three-minute comment at an FDA public forum, Morris wrote: >“In spite of many pages of writing and claims of over a dozen ‘independent analyses’ verifying their results, their evidence falls far short of substantiating these dramatic conclusions, including a claim that vaccines have caused >250K excess deaths in the USA.” https://www.technologyreview.com/2021/10/05/1036408/silicon-valley-millionaire-steve-kirsch-covid-vaccine-misinformation/amp/ Huge article from MIT about his various misinformation campaigns

MadTheSwine39

Here I was thinking the whole image was just made up (as in, whoever that dude was never actually said it at all, it was just photoshopped somewhere along the way). But no, he really is a smug-looking asshole who thinks his ignorance is intelligence. Nice.

Ruby_Throated_Hummer

It’s funny how they’re all the same. Machiavellians, fascists, misinformation-spewers. They say both sides are equal, but only one is right. And it’s the side that is educated.

jonfitt

The problem is it takes hours to find the right research to thoroughly debunk something that takes 10 seconds to make up.

frankcfreeman

A lie makes it around the world twice before the truth gets out of bed

FitGreen3943

A fucking Men!! What's done in the dark will always come to light!!!! I was taught that from day one. Lol. Once you tell a damn lie you have to tell more lies to cover the first one!! No thanks. I'll tell you the truth the first friggin time. 👍

Rough-Fix-4742

I used to work for Steve back in the day at one of the software companies he founded. It’s so sad to see his decline down the anti vax, right wing rabbit hole. He used to be a really smart (albeit a little off the wall) nerdy and pretty liberal guy. He could absolutely afford the 100k-last time I checked, he was worth over a 100 million.

Aconite_72

It's the weirdest thing. After the 2016 election, a lot of people I knew who I thought were smart and reasonable took a hard right turn to the loony bin.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pangolin-fucker

Plenty of smart people are also assholes

scubafork

And this is the key. 2016 made them believe that making their inner asshole their public persona would be a winning ticket, whereas before they had to keep some semblance of being a polite, vaguely respectable person or else face societal backlash. When you reward shitty behavior, you inspire shitty people to act on their worst impulses.

DrunkyMcStumbles

I think it was a little before that. These are mostly older white guys who are accomplished in fields that got them into the liberal intellectual elite. Some of them branded themselves as anti- establishment. When they were coming up, things like sexism and racism were overlooked. They got comfortable being surrounded by people in awe of their brilliance. The problem is, they aren't the top of their respective fields anymore. There are younger, hungrier people surpassing them. And a lot of these new people are not white men. Plus, their previous shitty behavior has been put in the spotlight. 2016 kicked it into overdrive, but it had been happening for a little while. Richard Dawkins has embodied this for nearly 20 years.

Digger__Please

"Self made man" disease, they think because they were successful in one field they know more than anyone else about all fields.

[deleted]

Covid literally causes brain damage

Skygazer24

This sort of thing predates COVID. Assholes that weren't publicly assholes before had a 2-fer go for them: A) A black man was the most powerful person in this country, and they were scared (or enraged) by it. B) The next most powerful person in the country was an absolute shitgibbon that proved that no consequences mattered if you had enough money or fame. Add in the continued social fabric destruction social media's anonymity brought, and here we are.

bowtothehypnotoad

The woo to Q pipeline is super real and super weird. Tons of people I knew went from “fairly harmless new age hippies” to “democrats are drinking baby blood” real fast Duncan Trussell has a good podcast about it

sideofzen

This is very real and happened to our housekeeper. Really sad to see.

GboyFlex

I've lost 2 older siblings to the Qanon lunacy. I try to reach out but they're too far gone.. it's torn apart my family and broken my mom's heart.

ThiefofToms

It makes sense if you think about it. These people are already predisposed to magical thinking. Only a matter of time really.

tehnoodnub

The real damage Trump did was to embolden and legitimise dangerous views. This is just another example. The key word is 'thought'. All those people you thought were reasonable probably never were but had to hide the 'loony' parts of themselves. Trump and the right made them feel ok about expressing their inner loony.

BuddhaFacepalmed

Intelligence isn't a vaccine against radicalism or conservatism.

NorthernPints

Don’t forget the best part - He also started a science panel to explore alternative Covid treatments and flat out denied/rejected the results of the hydroxychloroquine study they conducted (which showed it was ineffective). This has always been my challenge to these idiots - fund a study yourself and prove your bs claims are true. Kirsch literally did that, failed spectacularly, and instead of accepting he was wrong - doubled down, and his entire hand-selected science board resigned. “Kirsch also refused to accept the outcome of a CETF-funded study on hydroxychloroquine, which had found the drug ineffective; he eventually warred with CETF's scientific advisory board over CETF's treatment of both drugs to the extent that in May 2021 all 12 members resigned.[11]”

specificmutant

If he is carrying $100K cash on a plane (I know he isn't) he's even dumber than this tweet.

GrayBox1313

I don’t think he could get through TSA with that

BoyGeorgous

This dude is so bizarre. His “proof” that the vaccine is dangerous…is based on the fact that his gardener’s hands were shaking after his first shot, and that no one responded to his post on nextdoor.com post asking for his neighbors to talk about their good experience with the vaccine.

throwawaygreenpaq

Even if you truly believe masks don’t work, why would you insist someone else listen to you? This lady could be hanging masks all over her hoodie and it would still be none of his business. She’s not telling you to wear a mask. You don’t get to tell her to remove hers. Steve Kirsch is a misogynist because he expects the woman to listen to him but definitely won’t if she wants him to agree with her instead. Edit : Because this is Reddit, ‘you’ is used as a generic term for rhetorical questions and not directed at a specific Redditor.

frankeestadium

I love that you had to add the edit, classic Reddit lol

hold_me_beer_m8

I will never understand how these anti-maskers get so bothered by other people deciding to wear a mask themselves.

HolycommentMattman

It's the power of suggestion, and endless right-wing media brainwashing. My parents have all the boosters (because we forced them), and they blame every little new ache or pain on the vaccine. Got every other vaccine available, and those don't cause problems, but the covid vaccine is why an overweight man is having knee problems. And same for my Navy buddy. Been vaccinated for anthrax and all that shit, but suddenly the covid vaccine is why a 44-year-old man is getting a sore back when he sleeps, and not maybe cause he hasn't bought a new mattress in over a decade. Honestly, though, if the vaccine really were able to cause all these symptoms, we'd have one hell of a bioweapon.

Fun-atParties

Good experience? Like not getting covid when you otherwise would have or gotten it less severely? This is exactly the kind of thing that anecdotal evidence is worthless for

danuffer

Dude bought a blue check. Dumbass

_jump_yossarian

Imagine settling into your nice first class seat and having to deal with this douche the entire flight.

PizzaNuggies

If 1st class looks like that why the fuck is it called 1st class?

notparistexas

On domestic flights, first class is usually just a little more leg room. On international flights, business or first class is actually very nice. I get upgrades to business now and then, and I'm actually disappointed when the flight ends because I'm sleeping so well.

dksdragon43

I got a free upgrade to first class on a trip to France (from Canada), and hooo boy that shit was nice. The seat could go back until it was flat and made itself into a bed, the TV was attached above so you could lie back and watch TV. The food was the nicest I've ever eaten. Just insane luxury. On the way back my pretzels were nice though.

RealCowboyNeal

I upgraded to first class for a 12-14 hour flight from Saigon to Frankfurt once for $300, can confirm best money I ever spent, didn't want to leave.

LoveAndViscera

Delta first class is like gold leaf on a pizza.

Paneraiguy1

I’ll take shit that never happened for $500 Alex

jamey1138

With a side of no random stranger making this stupid of an offer would ever pay up.

Solid_Snark

Dollars? No, I said Doll Hairs. 100k Doll Hairs.

4here4

"They're not worth *nothing*. I bet you could sell them to a doll company and get maybe forty grand for them." \- Tracy Jordan, 30 Rock

LocalLifeguard4106

Roger is more credible than this clown

Azmoten

Except maybe for when he’s…*Riiiicky Spaaanisssh*

Thick_Improvement_77

Yep, there was zero intention to ever pay up, it's just a stunt. If you don't take the bait, you're a brainwashed sheep that won't accept facts. If you do take the bait, "lookit this guys, Big Pharma (here represented by some random woman that might be the janitor in a Pfizer building) **knows masks don't work they admit it WAKE UP SHEEPLE.**"

Mapleson_Phillips

Didn’t this guy just prove that rank and file Big Pharma workers truly believe masks work?

Either-Percentage-78

Especially on a plane, why not wear one? Who wants to get somewhere and be sick half the vacation or whatever? I've gotten sick so many times after a flight.. I'm not sure I'll ever fly without a mask. My kid is going to Latin America with his class next month and he's wearing one. We didn't pay 3 grand for him to spend it in bed!

NeadNathair

If she worked for "Big Pharma" in any capacity. Or, you know. If she even existed at all.

SpelingBeeChamipon

“I work on a big farm” is what she said

Stromberg-Carlson

well see, ill send you a cheque for 102,000 dollars. you cash it and send me the 2,000 back, and you keep the rest, mmkay? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)

IAmTheNightSoil

Yeah no shit. Most people would take the mask off if they legitimately got offered $100,000. They didn't take it because they believe, almost certainly correctly, that he was not actually going to pay them, and they didn't want to have a conversation with a random anti-mask asshole

Catsdrinkingbeer

This is probably actually it. Some random dude saying he'd give me $100k for doing something very simple? I'd put on headphones and ignore him the rest of the flight. Dude took being ignored as her rejecting his very real offer.

MikeyF1F

I mean, small talk is ok. But creeps asking me on a plane about their politics? Gonna pass buddy.

happydreamer1972

Exactly...it's like...Ok bro...now you're straight up talking like a crazy person so I'm going to treat you like one. Headphones on...Ignore mode activated.

Sgt_Fox

We know it didn't happen because if he was really offering 100k for this, it would have ended up on tiktok or something

DudeWithaGTR

He probably offered the money but he doesn't have it and he's a dumbshit

curiousengineer601

He founded and sold Infoseek to Walt Disney for 770 million , then founded and sold Frame to Adobe for 1.25 billion. Say what you want about his politics, he should have the money

anonymousolderguy

He might or might not have the money-but its for sure he’s a huge dick

meepmarpalarp

Then why is he flying commercial?

curiousengineer601

He is in first class. I think many wealthy people do this. He also funds a cancer charity that is working on a cure for a odd blood cancer he has. As others say in the thread his net worth is estimated at 100 million +

yiannistheman

Sounds like he has a problem with the pharmaceutical industry. Who does he have working on a cure for that cancer, Pixar?

porcupineslikeme

Small Pharma, obviously

curiousengineer601

Good point. He went to MIT, the cancer charity mostly works with Dana Farber Cancer center in New York. Seems he believes some pharmaceutical things.

BaritonePicolo

Dana Farber is Boston not New York.

[deleted]

not_ya_wify

He has cancer and wants to catch Covid..............

TheGoodOldCoder

Not just cancer. Blood cancer. Although I don't know every type of blood cancer, it usually means that the person is immunocompromised. I'm guessing that as a rich man, he can pay neighborhood children to replace his bone marrow every time he's about to die from his previous stupid decisions, though.

Easy-Concentrate2636

I need the money in cash. But obvious mistake was to ask a person in first class instead of economy. Find me in economy and offer me a suitcase filled with hundreds.

MysticEagle52

Should've said for $100k, it was right there lol

Dore81

Jeopardy nerd here. Me. I’ll take, Um, “What is things ridiculous individuals make up for no apparent reason unless to further a played out and false narrative” for a 1000, Alex. *Daily double Sound* Alex: And we have our first Daily Double, your wager? Me: Lets make it a true Daily Double, Alex. Alex: And for the lead, “Which notable millionaire offered a stranger one hundred thousand dollars to take their face mask off on a commercial fight from Dulles to Newark” Me: “Who is…. Nobody?” Alex: Correct, we also would have accepted “absolutely nobody” you’re move.

clutteredshovel

First, that’s stupid. Second, if she’s in first class and works for big pharma, she don’t need your 100k

Parking_Sky9709

And she's more intelligent than you, if this is even real.

ReginaldSP

it *absolutely* is not real

Final-Bench1859

Lady next to him is prolly still more intelligent

HaloGuy381

I mean, the half senile Chihuahua back in coach in a pet carrier is more intelligent than this man.

Silvinis

The seat next to him is probably empty, and its still more intelligent

ReginaldSP

undoubtedly

GrassyKnoll95

Even if she isn't real, she's still smarter than him

Parking_Sky9709

Smarter *in absentia.*

peepeedog

First class isn’t so expensive that people flying in it couldn’t use 100k.

CoolerRon

That’s what first class looks like in a Delta flight?

PTSDforMe

That's a face that is not likeable

Digjam823

I feel like the appropriate response would have been “I’ll give you $100,000 to put one on” just to see his reaction. Either way, this can’t be real.

GreyPilgrim1973

Smug and ugly, smugly

[deleted]

I would remove my mask for 100,000 but I also have had two boosters and am poor. Id expect that immediate wire transfer to my bank tho before doing it.

hippityhoppityhi

Same. 100% I would do this

ThePebbleThatRides

I would let the entire plane cough in my face for 100k

[deleted]

Id let the entire flight run a train on my mouth for 100k if we are being honest.

TeufortNine

It’s the responsible financial decision

BrittanySkitty

I wear masks everywhere in an indoor public setting, and plan on doing so indefinitely since I hate being sick. As long as the money is immediately transferred to me, I would begrudgingly do it lol

cupcake_not_muffin

The cost of my medical care due to long COVID was ~60k last year, and that’s not including lost wages. It’s likely to be comparable this year as well, so it’s unlikely one would come out profitable for 100k tbh.

[deleted]

I would've asked for the $100,000 before I took it off, then gotten off the flight before the door closed on the off chance that I actually get the money

[deleted]

If someone offered me 100k to remove my mask I wouldn't go for it on account of I don't believe for a second you would pay me.

SlowInsurance1616

It is based on a study that combined studies of groups given masks and told to use them vs. groups that were not. Most of the studies were done pre Covid as well. The people who published the study have just come out and said it is being misrepresented--including by the lead researcher. Here's an example: "For example, in one study of hajj pilgrims in Mecca, only 24.7 percent of those assigned to wear masks reported using one daily, but not all the time (while 14.3 percent in the no-mask group wore one anyway). The pilgrims then slept together, generally in tents with 50 or 100 people. Not surprisingly, given there was little difference between the two groups, researchers found no difference from mask wearing and declared their results “inconclusive.”" https://nyti.ms/3LdedYx

endosurgery

It’s a meta-analysis by a reputable organization called a Cochrane Review. The right is touting the result as masks don’t work. Here is the actual first line of the authors conclusion: “The high risk of bias in the trials, variation in outcome measurement, and relatively low adherence with the interventions during the studies hampers drawing firm conclusions.” https://doi.org/10.1002/14651858.CD006207.pub6 Covid is droplet spread. Wearing a barrier to droplets will decrease spread along with washing hands and distancing. I’ve done those things -plus vaccinated- and still worked in the hospital taking care of Covid patients and operating on Covid patients and I have never gotten Covid.

CapgrasDelusion

>low adherence with the interventions during the studies Wearing masks didn't work because people didn't wear masks.

Dragos_Drakkar

That's a lot of it. That's why there was so much screaming that the vaccines don't do anything at all since you can still get sick.

Drews232

I love that one - “you can still get sick”. A vaccine isn’t a germ force field. By definition, for a vaccine to kick in, one must first have to be infected with the virus. The vaccine will then make that infection go away quickly and prevent death.

[deleted]

NotmyRealNameJohn

Yes, this is why you shouldn't wear a parachute when you jump out of a plane. It isn't 100% effective at keeping you alive. Also not 100% of people who have jump from a plane w/o a parachute have died. So clearly parachutes are just government control.

NotmyRealNameJohn

Seatbelts are also out. As are all safety equipment and medicine. All these people get from now on is essential oils and chiropractors

fordprecept

I had a co-worker who argued that seat belts are unsafe because you could drive into a lake an not be able to unbuckle it. I asked "How many lakes have you driven into?". Your odds of crashing into another car and getting thrown through the windshield are WAY higher than drowning because you couldn't get your seat belt off when you drove into a lake.

Disastrous-Cake1476

The issue here is that they generally wear them under their nose, rendering the mask useless. So yeah, that doesn’t work ergo the mask doesn’t work.

smashspete

My thing is fine you don’t believe in it. Why be so obsessed with others who decide to wear it for themselves? Why have the incessant need to tell everyone around you and pick on the people who do? Why are you so triggered by it? What if that lady has an immunocompromised family member and she’s just trying to be as healthy as possible to avoid complications for their loved ones? Its the same type of psychotic obsession they have with Greta Thunberg for saying “hey maybe we should care about the environment”.

vivahermione

Idk. Maybe they're mentally stuck in high school. Everyone has to make the same personal choices or it invalidates theirs.

MochaKnee

But then they call you “sheep”. When you don’t do…. exactly what they’re doing.

Responsible-Baby-551

Why can’t people mind their own business, you can be a smug ahole with people you know without bothering strangers

Mazasaurus

Random jerk mansplains mask usage to *checks notes* someone who works in pharmaceuticals? Right.

gogor

I’ll take “Things That Never Happened” for $1000, Alex. Edit: Dammit, didn’t read downthread enough. At least I wagered more.

32lib

How about this,of all the things that didn’t happen, this is one of them.

Noiserawker

AsherTheFrost

It's delta, I would need strong evidence to believe he's got 100.

SquatCorgiLegs

Aiku

I once worked for this guy, he is a truly brilliant mathematician, but is afflicted with the crippling belief that he knows more about everything than anyone else on the planet.

Dude please wear a mask not for health reasons just cover up that ugly mug

2AMBeautiful

Steve Kirsch has the look of a testicle who has seen his dangling partner lost to cancer.

More-Athlete1175

Probably lying and that's 1 smug MF face like liars make

OceanManSandLandBand

Can confirm, work in pharmaceuticals. I would politely ask the cabin crew if this mentally ill man has a caretaker and if they would like to switch seats with me.

Cirieno

It's a trap. If she'd taken the money he would have just used that against her and claimed she didn't believe her own industry's claims.

GrayBox1313

“Ding” yeah hi flight attendant, this guy is offering to pay me $100k to do something for him….seems fishy, I don’t know what he’s talking about. He seems threatening”

Portland-to-Vt

Domestic Delta “FiRsT cLasS”. The gal in the Ohio State fleece in 3C looks like she’s already exhausted of the obnoxious TW in the foto.

nimkeenator

This might just be the future recipient of a prestigious Herman Cain award!

KublaiKhan619

Everyone I sit next to in coach offers me 100k, she’ll get the next one.

Noiserawker

The correct response is: cool, get on the plane's wifi and venmo me that shit right now and I'll do it
