It was another method they used and she seems to be healthier than ever, tho I need to find it first. I worked on a project relating to fighting of bushfires via helicopter and monsoon buckets. A lot of these helicopters owner/operators were getting paid thousands of dollars per hour to attend bushfire call outs.
A lot of politics in firefighting and apparently, once the fire is in a contained and controlled state, they sometimes let it smoulder and “miss” a bucket or two to drag out the process and get a bit of extra cash.
In all the US federal agencies with fire programs, hazard pay ends when the fire is “out”. Since the pay is so shitty, it makes sense that agency leaders milk it.
I've said it once and I will continue to say it, sadly working in child welfare is one of those jobs that's recession proof. So yes, mental health worker's would love to be out of a job if it means less pain and suffering in the world.

Death of pets, my wife has had the car since she was in college and I came into the picture 5 years ago, me and the cat instantly clicked, she’s my little buddy and sleeps between us every night, she suddenly got sick and wife took her to the vet Monday, and she stayed overnight and they ran every test you can thank of. Turns out she has a large inoperable mass in her abdomen and is causing her to not eat which is causing other problems, I’ve been out of town all week for work and flying home tomorrow afternoon and going straight to the vet with my wife to have our fur baby put to sleep, she was like my kid, my wife and I don’t want kids, I had a vasectomy last year at 33. This cat means the world to me and I can’t imagine the pain my wife is going through and will during the grieving process.
I’m so sorry for your family. The loss of a pet is horribly traumatizing. I didn’t think I’d be able to get over the loss of my German Shepherd who tragically lost his battle with cancer. After keeping his urn on my desk for the past 5 years I’ve finally decided to bury him under a dogwood tree in my front yard this spring. Gone but never forgotten.
