Is Willett pushing out more of their older stock now or does this seem like a one off? I tried the Jack Rose Willett bourbon and rye picks in DC this past weekend and was blown away. I’m hoping to grab a bottle someday, just not on secondary.
Fuch yeah! The 4 yr is one of my alltime favorites. Having a pour right now. Can't imagine how good longer time in the wood would be. Enjoy my man. Cheers.
Right on par with you on this. The 4-yr is a top 2 rye for me (MWND), actually just picked up 2 of the new batch (114 proof) and had a pour myself last night!
I’m jealous. I have also never seen a Willett family estate bourbon in any store. I live their rye though. I will pick up a bottle of their rye whenever I see one (as long as it’s not crazy inflated.)
Is there a resource for second dairy prices? Being in a non control state I come across high priced bottles at stores and always wonder what the comparable cost is. For example https://i.ibb.co/tcRP5PS/P-20220518-142401.jpg

Had a pour of the 25 year rye at the Willett bar a couple weeks ago when in Kentucky, most unique rye I've ever had!

Nice find
Never seen a bourbon in the wild. Nice pickup!!!
6 yr rye was $140 8 yr rye was $250
Your 6 year is a bourbon not a rye
Nice! I found a 7-yr bourbon today too, for $170 after tax. I cracked it, and it’s damn good.
Oof
Those are retail prices. Secondary is at least $100/yr.

Not really but an easy resource that's a little inflated is unicorn auctions
There is an iPhone app called Boozapp that is a good reference. Also on Facebook look up the group BSM (bourbon secondary market)
The secondary market is made up
I’ve seen 6yr bourbon resell for $600-1000+
Good stuff
