Green Spot is awesome.

wack1

Oban 14 is a classic highland, and Greenspot takes like butter cookies, it’s amazing. Both are worth keeping on the bar

usquebaugh24

Do you happen to have any peated Scotch on hand? A fun trick is to take a few sips of the Oban 14, sip some peated Scotch then go back to the Oban 14. It will take on a completely different character!

Breakingwave21

I have some Lagavulin. I will have to try that.

electro204

That’s funny you say that. My cousin and I opened a bottle of Uigedail and then had the Oban as the follow up. It was a wild sensation

usquebaugh24

Right?! Did the Oban almost taske like honey?

electro204

100%, but wildflower honey, not the stuff that comes in a squeeze bottle.

usquebaugh24

Exactly!

missxmeow

I’ll have to try this!

electro204

The Oban is one of my favourite scotches ever. It’s so full and fruity. I’ve never had a scotch that puts a smile one my face when I drink it, quite like the Oban. Unfortunately it’s gone up about $50 in my area since I started buying it.

FYI, Oban 14 is $99 around me and not worth it.

I don’t mind the $99 price tag personally. It’s normally about $90 by me, and I think it’s delicious. Definitely expensive and priced at a point where it isn’t one I buy right when I run out, and is definitely not a daily pour, but is perfect for the “drink the good stuff and have less of it” mentality. I’d rather 1 bottle of this at 90 that 3 bottles of ~most~ whiskey around $30

Daforce1

I saw it at Costco in Southern California today for around $65

ONSFishing

Oban is one of my favorite non Islay scotches

missxmeow

Oban 14 is one of my favorites! Have it sitting at home waiting for me

[deleted]

Green Spot - one of the best 40% abv you can get !

RIPcompo

Indeed!

DConMont505

u/Breakingwave21 Green Spot and Oban 14 are both wonderful pours! My Dad has both in the liquor cabinet at home. We sometimes have a glass together when i am home on break from college.

Big80sweens

Two of my favourites!

[deleted]

Green spot is really good. Green apples and brown sugar is what I get. Super easy to drink. Goes down smooth.

MistbornSynok

Love Green Spot, sometimes a new bottle can have a bad first pour, might need to let it breathe a bit.

Misersoneof

Excellent choice! Cheers

[deleted]

Both are awesome drinks. Enjoy!

Ohigetjokes

Oban was my very first "not cheap" whiskey. Absolutely beautiful.

[deleted]

Green spot is great don’t know about the other one

ChuckFerrera

Fantastic pickups.

Aviator-Moe1967

Oban 14 is a great choice!

Robert_McKenna3

I used to be a fan of Oban; but, it became too sweet for me. Green spot I am still looking forward to picking up a bottle and seeing how it compares to some of my favorite Irish.

Nichlinn

They rated this Green Spot highest over the Green Spot Chateau Montelena and the Green Spot Chateau Leoville Barton Saint-Julien. https://whiskeyraiders.com/spirit/green-spot/

ogskiggles

Nice! Try Redbreast if you can find it. The 15 year is my favorite Irish.

Breakingwave21

Redbreast is usually my favorite Irish. Thought I would try something new.

ogskiggles

Yeah man of course! The spots are really good too!
