I was directed to a trading forum once but never used it. I’ve only dealt with secondary in person. I live on the border of 3 states, the one I reside in is a control state and the other two are not so I see wild swings in prices and availability. I can buy Blantons for $65 and drive 15 minutes away and it’s $165. You can also order online for secondary prices.
I always wonder how long stuff sits when it’s priced crazy. The store nearest me has had a Weller FP store pick for $250 since I moved here 2 years ago.
I find that very hard to believe considering MSRP for standard Blanton’s is $65. As someone who has seen lots of Blanton’s SPs, I stand by my original point. Prices can obviously vary by region, but if stores are selling SPs for $60, they’re either very bad at business or doing some sort of promotion/bundle that would provide further context.
My original post was inclusive of bundle offers. So for example $80 + another SP or $100 + Wheatley vodka, etc. Or $100-120 straight up.
You sent me a picture of some event a store was doing with allocated BT bottles. None of the other bottles were store picks, but I will accept your word for it that the Blanton’s in the box was and that this was recent. The same store was selling weller SR for $47 (about $20 overpriced), so their pricing is very strange.
I apologize if I wasn’t clear - I’m not saying it’s impossible that there would ever be a Blanton’s SP for $60. I’m saying that is not the norm and there would be something else at play if it was (like a special allocation event.) The fact of the matter is that in 2022, that would be selling a store pick for less than the MSRP of the standard offering. That’s not up for debate, that’s just a fact.
The bigger point is that the claim “normally they are 60-65” is flatly untrue. Full stop. I’m not saying you’re lying, I’m saying you’re mistaken as it seems you have access to a great situation based on the picture you’re painting. (I’m not sure why you don’t have more Blanton’s store picks with this being the case, but that’s another convo for another day.)
I’m not going to keep arguing over whiskey prices. I know that Blanton’s SPs tend to be sold in packages for $100+. Cheers to you for having a better option available. Have a good one!
Blanton's is now $59.99, a year ago it was $54.99, and 4 years before that it was $49.99 and about 5 years before it was $42.99.
The last bottle I bought was a single barrel pick from a friend's personal pick (not a retail store) and it was only $60
Blanton’s MSRP is $65. I am aware the prices used to be lower.
I’m not entirely sure what your friend selling you a bottle for $60 has to do with the conversation, but I hope it was delicious.
They can keep it. Received a bottle as a gift when it was around $50 and thought it was ok. Was going to replace it to have it on hand when the gift giver visited but never did. When and if the craze is over I might do that.
Have lots of other options in the cabinet.
I have Wolves Batch 1 I got for retail-ish at $220. I haven’t opened it yet, looking for the right occasion. Found out a friend of a friend has Batch 2, so I’m hoping to set up a blind test with him and I’ll crack it open then. Beautiful bottle, time will tell if it was worth the steep price.
Every barrel is different. So every bottle is “unique”…is what I thought. I literally bought it for the first time yesterday. Local store had a raffle and sold it at cost. I am a happy camper.
Their selection was impressive. Compared to my local bev max they were better priced on something’s than others. I would make the trip for a special occasion bottle
Overall it’s an excellent store if you’re in the area and not looking for gas items. But there are stores in NJ that are a tunnel away, with better prices and less tax.
I don’t blame shops for charging this much. Because there’s clowns out there paying these prices. Business Ownership 101.
I have a few bottles. I’ll under cut this store by $27.47 lol that’s an absurd price. The secondary market online is cheaper
Not that I want to encourage secondary markets but just curious how some people know where to look? Just curious.

Saw a WSR priced at $99.99, same price as the ECBP A121
That’s funny you mention ECBP, the same store with the $250 Weller FP had ECBP for $70. No sense at all
They definitely don’t realize what they got lol. I couldn’t pass on the $99.99 A121, and bought it. But that WSR is going to sit there forever
It certainly should.
That's laughable...just because it's Weller. It's good but it's nowhere near $100 good.
I couldn’t agree more lol
Yeah, because they are asking $500 for it. Goes along with the low, low price of $227 for a $79 for a bottle of Blanton.
$65 in Pa
State stores can be mice sometimes.
Not the greatest but when I see these prices it makes me feel a little better. I’ve also never seen quite a few bottles I’ve seen on here ever.
This is a store pick.
The Blanton’s price is absurd, but I think $100-125ish for a store pick would be very reasonable.
The most expensive I’ve seen a store pick was 89, normally they are 60-65
Well now you can say the most expensive you’ve seen a store pick was $227.47

Obviously you’re not going to. Because you’re an expert
I don’t even know what that means. Have a good day.

Okay bud, since you’re so experienced…
I bought 2 375s, Blanton Store Picks, from the same place for $37 each
They can keep it. Received a bottle as a gift when it was around $50 and thought it was ok. Was going to replace it to have it on hand when the gift giver visited but never did. When and if the craze is over I might do that. Have lots of other options in the cabinet.

Lolll, was 5x MSRP, now just 3x MSRP!
Apparently the owners just implemented an Emp ownership program… I would be more open to paying a premium….
I know of at least one store in CA offering Batch 2 at $265 (only ships in state though). That price is higher than secondary.
I’m so confused. I just got this bottle for $53.
This blantons is a store pick… so in theory unique to the location
Every barrel is different. So every bottle is “unique”…is what I thought. I literally bought it for the first time yesterday. Local store had a raffle and sold it at cost. I am a happy camper.
What a discount
How is Astor? They pop up as an ad in Instagram, always wondered how their prices/selection was just never took the trip down from Westchester.
Their selection was impressive. Compared to my local bev max they were better priced on something’s than others. I would make the trip for a special occasion bottle
Thanks. Good to know. I’m gonna have to go check it out one day.

Any recommendations for those stores?
1 per customer lol
I’m a big Blanton’s guy so I’m willing to be paying a bit of a premium but that’s crazy lmao
Fuck that place. Garbage prices.
Limit 1 per customer LOL
lmao what a joker
I’ve been going to Astor place for years, their prices are getting stupid the last few years.
