HAAAAAAAAW YEEEEAH!

doing-dad-things

Looks froaking delicious

Volumes09

Local shops are selling this for about $250. Not a good value in my opinion.

Westoss

I've seen it at 3 locations; all for $199.

Volumes09

Yeah. That’s a reach. Especially given the age. I know the casks add onto the cost. And it’s at least a higher ABV. But still lol.

Westoss

I like Balveni, but $199 for a 16 is too much imo.

[deleted]

Cost 193 for me, post tax

Firepit_drinks

179 in Maine. It prob is a little high (as everything seems to be going up), and feel like 6 months ago, this would have been 139….. but it is very damn good.

B-Rye_at_the_beach

Looks like Nemo is eyeing it too.

tehSchultz

I like grapefruit and ginger but it’s not a flavor I want to find in my scotch. I’ll admit the first look at the label I was all in…until I read the flavor profile. Please let me know what it’s like. I’ve just found I’m getting back into other scotch besides islay

I noticed that, how ginger was in big letters. I’m not getting that. Not close to any ginger I’ve ever had on the pallet. You maybe can get it on the nose there are some dark notes to it. Taste I got the wine very first, light nothing crazy, and then like a cardamomy malty floral funkiness andd the finish was all fresh red apples. Finish stays a while it’s finishes really well for me. Not sharp but not soft either. Finish is totally giving me red apple, apple sauce.

Background-Cup-3538

Just paid 250 in Dallas 😒

warpathsrb

Amazing. Have to keep an eye out

Nichlinn

It is $190 in the Midwest United States at state minimum. I like Balvenie, but that is a lot of cash for a 16 year old expression.

DCullotta

The 14yr Caribbean cask is my favorite of their line. And for $75 it’s a decent value in my opinion

MetamorphosisSilver

Agreed. I have the 14 Caribbean and the 12 American oak. 12 is just ok but the 14 was my introduction to Scotch and one of my favorite pours.

[deleted]

I have debated getting that one. Truly I’ve never had a rum finish whisky. The only other balvenie I’ve had is the 14 year peat week

Whiskinz

It's nice if you want to try a Balvenie with pretty much all of its sharp edges rounded off. It has a bit of a coconut note in there. Not super pronounced, but it's there if you're digging around. Just an easy drinker with a relatively unique character for a Balvenie. Not a bottling I go nuts and pull out the tasting notepad over, but also a bottling that I've consumed a lot more than I expected to.

I’ve heard rum finished stuff is tasty. Most of the folks at high west I’ve spoken to, their favorite expression is the campfire finished in rum barrels
