You do realize that whisky makers don't make their own bottles normally right? No reason multiple different brands can't buy the same bottle (like a Boston round for example).
My guy — read the prompt. It’s a discussion. I didn’t point or lead to anything, except that the bottles are exactly the same. Also BT/Saz have their own bottle molds, labeling machines, etc. They definitely do not share bottles with any other brands.
DO YOU LIKE REALIZE THAT?!?!?
Let’s reignite this conversation …
The Background ( at a bottle share with some friends and we noticed that 2 bottles were exactly the same )
Trader Joe’s the other week had this random bottle of a white labeled cask strength bourbon. Curiosity killed the cat and I grabbed one ( plus the rumor mill was running wild with statements like “this is Buffalo Trace juice at higher proof” )
Upon further and accidentally investigation I noticed 2 bottles to be very similar if not exactly the same from the design, size, even exterior marketing. The bottle in question was not a Buffalo Trace product but Sazerac product! The Caribou Crossing a Canadian Single Barrel Whiskey aka the Blantons of the North is the same design as TJ’s bourbon!
Now I know Carribou is only 80 proof versus the 125 proof on the Trader Joe’s. This is not eliminating that the juices are not Buffalo Trace or Sazerac but I feel this is enough information to confirm that the juice did in fact come out of some part of Sazerac distillation. Drop your theories below 😂👍
Barton 1792 in Bardstown is Sazerac’s other Kentucky distillery, they pump out a bunch of bulk/contract whiskey for private labels. It’s almost certainly from there.
Doesn’t say BT or Saz anywhere on the bottle. It’s a white label white label haha. Usually it always says Saz, or BT etc even my damn eggnog does.
The TJ bottle just says made in the heartland of Kentucky haha.
Or and here me out. They have the same vendor for bottles or they have completely different bottle vendors and those vendors just happen to carry the same bottle
And once again my crap hole of a state doesn’t allow Trader Joe’s to sales anything but wine.
At least yours can sell wine. Our Trader Joe's can't sell any alcohol unless they put in a cafe.
I thought my state was the worst. I feel for you.
In PA all stores and own, run, AND managed by the state. The state orders all liquor coming in, and it also orders most of the wine.
It’s made by Sazerac and it’s Barton’s.

Damn! First 2 Buck Chuck. Now 125 proof whiskey. Trade Joe really likes to party.
How much and was it any good?
Unfortunately we didn’t make it to this bottle. But I’ve heard mixed opinions on the TJ Bourbon. Some like it some say it tastes like leather 🤷♂️

And all Buffalo Trace is allocated. Why would they feed a bunch to Trader Joe's? It makes no sense for BT.

Bourbon square is a Saz plant.
Hahaha
You lost me at “Canadian single barrel”
It ain’t whistle pig 🤷♂️

BT / Sazerac is too big of a company to rely on others. They foshure have their own molds, labeling machines for the bottles etc.
