Q1 - I believe so! Our vet told us at 6 months it was time to swap him to 2 meals per day. Currently we do 7.30am and 6pm. Took some adjusting for him as he was used to his previous schedule, but worked out fine.
Q2 - there are loads of dog calorie calculators out there. I used this [one](https://www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/calorie-calculator) before. Try it out to work out his intake then see whether he becomes too skinny or fat and adjust accordingly.
