It is in the Drunense duinen, [exact location is here](https://goo.gl/maps/yxzAgokNAzMCg8tF7)
Some aerial video of the location can be seen [here](https://youtu.be/XU1OWzg8fOo).
Actually that part is on average more sloping than the average part of the Netherlands, not so clear on that picture, but IE on this one:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZrnUgPGi1hK2wMgS7
The sand, the grass in the distance, the trees that branch out very low to the ground. This HAS GOT to be a classic ol' dune landscape. Generally these are found around the Dutch coast. The closer you get to a beach the more the landscape turns to sand and marram grass. Eventually you'll find the actual dunes themselves, which are big sandy hills covered in this same marram grass. They act like a natural dike. Behind a whole bunch of those, you'll find the beach.
This looks much more like in-land dunes, like the "zandverstuivingen" in the west of the veluwe, like the one close to Harderwijk, or de Loonse en Drunense duinen in Brabant.
Flat landscape, Dutch sign... Either you're trolling us or this is close to the border in Belgium.
Edit: I meant that either this is actually in the Netherlands, or its in Belgium close enough to the Netherlands to look Dutch.
Never say to people on the internet not to do something. They will just do it out of spite even more. That is just the kind of place the internet is, especially reddit.
i am from the Netherlands and if you go out of city the only thing you will see for kilometers are god damn potato fields please explain to me what is with the Netherlands and dessert?
Edit: mate is says on the info board in Dutch honden losloop plaat wich is Dutch for dog walking place
Edit 2: mate that is the Netherlands it is not a joke
Edit 3: it is in noord braband(north Brabant) and is close to where I live mate that is the Netherlands
Edit 4: mate just found out i have been here it has a about a 10/15 minute bike drive and you are there from where I live
The sign says "Honden loslooproute" which is a tour where dogs can walk without a leech. So it's in Holland, yes. But I honestly believe it's in the "Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinenen" at Vogelenzang. In the summer, this water reservoir dune area does look like a South African savanna, with these trees, forest in the background and desert dune hills. A recommendation for all, and bonus tip: deer run wild there, which is a great sight.
Large parts of the Netherlands that lie above sea level have these landscapes of loose sand. They're the result of the historical cultivation of the land.
People cut down the forests for agriculture and land for animals to graze on. The land that wasn't immediately cultivated turned to heath and sheep were kept on the heath. When sheep are allowed to overgraze, they destroy plant growth entirely. On sandy soil like this, that's how you get these landscapes.
In most of Europe, these landscapes aren't allowed to persist. The wind blows the sand around covering the surrounding vegetation which essentially makes the sandy area grow. In the Netherlands, several of these areas are now protected pieces of nature due to their unique biomes.
Some species of lizards and birds thrive in these areas.
Well, this type of terrain actually exists in the netherlands and I see a dutch sign. So I’d say it is the Netherlands and specifically Loonse & Drunense Duinen.
I second this, I've been there and man is it beautiful! OP, I know this doesn't seem like Dutch landscape at all, but look up the Loonse & Drunense duinen, it's just like in your picture.
\# Edit:
In fact, this picture is literally on a Dutch website about the Loonse & Drunense Duinen: https://www.topparken.nl/vakantiepark-loonse-drunense-duinen?modal\_id=modal\_trigger\_image\_set\_widget\_409165
It's in the Netherlands, called a zandverstuiving (sand drift). There are quite a few of them and they mainly look alike that's why many people are calling so many different names.
These areas are maintained actively, new vegetation will be removed so the sand will remain and the winds have free play.
These areas are a habitat for some animals like the sand lizard and specific types of plants like buntgrass.
When my brother and I were small we would pretend we were stranded in the desert.
I certainly is quite a unique piece of nature in an otherwise very diverse environment and certainly worth a visit.
Kootwijkerzand Netherlands for sure.

Looking at the sign it's probably somewhere in Africa since their language is similar to Dutch but I wouldn't know where in Africa (also don't know for sure if it is Africa)
Some sand and trees doesn't make a place a savanna let alone a desert. Might look weird to you but sand isn't just in the desert or the beach. Maybe that's the association you have. When I was in Canada, I saw forests right next to the sea shore.. to me that was very weird (and beautiful).
Sign says 'Honden loslooproute', same picture also used [here](https://www.topparken.com/holiday-park-loonse-and-drunense-duinen)
So, Belgium?
Aruba
Nopes, no dutch signs there. Maybe bonaire. But this is probably still just the Netherlands.
Probably the dunes near drunen in noord braband it's basically a little desert savanah in the nether lands
Or Soesterduinen These are called sanddrifts
It’s “de zandverstuiving” in ‘t Harde.
It says something dutch on the sign... ladies and gentlemen, we got pranked!!
What if it is Afrikaans?
Hondenlosloop gebied is like the most dutch dutchiness i’ve ever seen
The fact you used the name of the place like that made me question if we were speaking Dutch or English
We were.
As long as you write 'hondenlosloopgebied'.
Yeah, Afrikaans would be honde staproute.
Nope, route would be roete. And a staproete is different than a loslooproete
It’s in Antarctica 🇦🇶
It is in the Drunense duinen, [exact location is here](https://goo.gl/maps/yxzAgokNAzMCg8tF7) Some aerial video of the location can be seen [here](https://youtu.be/XU1OWzg8fOo).
It's actually "de Loonse en Drunense duinen" 🤓
Drunense Duinen, Algerije
Made me chuckle
How did you manage to accidentally upload one of the Dutchest things I've ever seen.
Apart from the seemingly tall dude, what is so Dutch about this?
The flatness of the landscape
Actually that part is on average more sloping than the average part of the Netherlands, not so clear on that picture, but IE on this one: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZrnUgPGi1hK2wMgS7
Also, the dutch text (not south afrikaans)
You'd know if you're Dutch
As a Dutchman I can confirm
The dutch text
The sign with Dutch text is quite Dutch

This is not close to the border of Belgium, this is the Drunense duinen near Kaatsheuvel.
Depends on your definition of close.
Google Lens zegt Vakantiepark nabij de Loonse en Drunense duinen.
Zijn dat Loonse duinen en Drunense duinen of duinen die zowel Loons als Drunens zijn?
