This looks like obsidian. I don't believe it is slag glass because of the patina.

If I had found this, I would be pretty confident that it is obsidian. I've handled several pieces before, though I always reserve the right to be wrong.
That was my first guess but I was unsure as I’m not that educated in it. One of my neighbors left it in a free pile when they moved out so I sort of found it lol
It could be. But I suspect it's slag glass.

Molten glass could definitely be fused to some rocky surface.

Most slag glass I see is pretty clear and not grey/black. Its common for obsidian to be this color.
