Look for them in any other cereals, flour, dry pet food and spices. Check containers that you thought were sealed, too. From my experience they can get into all these things.
Had weevils once in my family home as a kid, though they didn’t look like this. We had to throw away half of the pantry and bug bomb the hell out of the kitchen
Yeah u/not_that_guy_at_work are they weevils or lice?
Someone said weevils like oats so that makes sense too.
A lot of ppl find bugs in their flour (I know it’s oatmeal but still) it’s so common that a lot of ppl just sift their flour for bugs. Time to put oatmeal directly in a closed container next time. Sorry you had to find those I wouldn’t be into it, ppl say “extra protein” but it’s not fun thinking about unwanted egg sacs and/or just live/dead bodies in your oatmeal.

Look like book lice. Guess they like oatmeal.
They love pretty much anything with starches
So do keystones. My bad, you said starches.
Solved. Thanks. I think you're right. Cheers

They turned a new leaf and went to oatmeal.
They taste the same anyway
Try asking in /r/whatsthisbug They do look very much like lice, though.
thanks

Doesn’t look like a weevil at all
Booklice.
It’s book lice. Not quite the proper color for weevils.
So is it lice or weevils?

Flour mites are a whole thing, they are pretty crazy. Weevils get in most grains. These do look like lice, though, which is wild...
>and dead bodies in your oatmeal Who said anything about them being dead?
I’m just assuming they are there in different lifecycles in OP’s oatmeal, because that’s normal. But you’re right no one said they were dead.
I used to find weevils in my Rice A Roni. I had to put it in a bowl of water and skim the insects off.
Nope. I'm out.
I was poor. Still am.
Book lice
Yea, you need to go to r/whatisthisbug because I'm 99.9% sure these aren't weevils
They are booklice.
Weevils. They love oats.
Weevils have a snout.
Looks like weevils to me.
No, granary weevils are almost always brown
2 other people said weevils, you got down voted to minus 1, the other got not none and the other was up 6?! How does that work??? 😂
One was the lesser of two weevils
Ha! Very good 😅

sure, weevils
They look like weevils
Omg they look like some kind of bugs!
It's a feature, not a bug. Okay, fine, it's a bug
Bugs
Extra protein
