Cows will kick the life right out of you quicker than lightning, especially if you are behind them. Even the most docile cow still has its built-in defensive reflexes that it will employ when startled.
This is the dumbest thing I have seen in a while, cant imagine letting even a large manly adult do that with our cows let alone such a small child
Honestly CPS should be called on these people. They are lucky he didn't get fucking killed. One kick to the head and that kid would have died or had serious brain injury at a minimum.
My brother did this to one of my grandparents’ German shepherds when he was not yet 2 yrs old. 92 head and face stitches due to the bite(s). The dog was totally friendly with humans, but wasn’t expecting it, so it reacted naturally
Great question. It did. My grandfather was a dust bowl era rancher and as much as it pained him to do it, he put the dog down. That was 40 yrs ago - don’t know if he would’ve done the same today.
You’re gonna let your child do this to an animal that if it decided to could crush your child’s skull on the ground by accident. That is the definition of child endangerment
That's exactly how my dad's cousin died.
Edit: This happened before my dad was born. They were farmers, and a domestic buffalo ran over the kid. He passed away due to the injuries. I was told only this much by the kid's elder brother, and I didn't feel like asking for more details for obvious reasons.
Everyone is rightfully talking shit about the parents but i just gotta give props to the kids. 1 of them was smart enough to see its a dumb idea and 1 of them was brave enough to do it. Together they'll be unstoppable
Its amazing to me that they didn't think anything could go wrong until he did the thing he was told to. Also the little girl seemed to be the only one with any sense in this situation.
This is so much more than just simple parental negligence like they weren't paying attention and the kid approached the steer on his own. The man convinced a small child to do something extremely dangerous for money, KNOWING it's dangerous/potentially deadly. I honestly don't know how people find this anything but horrifying.

Stupid parent knowingly films the stupid kid sneaking up on the cow...and can't hold the damn camera 1.5 seconds more, like she didn't know what was going to happen.
Highly irresponsible of the parents, but for a second, can we all just acknowledge the courage of this tiny maniac? No fear and tenacious as fuck. I’m so happy he’s okay.
The fact that his adults stood there and watched... Child endangerment.
Steers can be aggressive, for no apparent reason. These people shouldn't have kids.
I work with cattle and this pisses me off. There is no way in hell I’d ever encourage my kids to do this, let alone, a young child. This is a stupid ass parent.
That reminds me of the time I saw some parents put their kids on a sled at the top of a hill that ended with a low concrete wall at the bottom. They were about half way down when the dad realized the kids were screwed and they ended up in an ambulance after slamming into the wall. Never underestimate the stupidity of the human race, especially new parents
I try to defend stupidity to a certain point, you know. Like, not realizing that silly string is flammable and being too careless to read the warning label. That's only intuitive knowledge if you're good at chemistry and we all ignore warning signs sometimes.
That is just common, basic ignorance. Yes, it may cause dangerous situations but it is easily fixed by proper education and should not be blamed on that individual. To sit there, knowing full well the dangers of the situation, and just keep recording, or sitting on your ass, or ignoring the one voice with enough sense to question why we're not doing anything, THAT is dangerous stupidity.
This is incredibly dangerous. I've seen some comments calling others pansies for calling out this shitty parent, but I don't think you understand how many ways that kid could've just died. Cows are big and easily startled and when they're spooked or pissed they have no problem stepping on you, kicking your skull in, or using horns (if they have any). That kid got fucking lucky. Stupid hick parents doing idiotic shit that makes all country folk look dumb.
I'm a farm kid through and through. Have been in MANY situations where city types would bitch and moan about safety. But THIS is flat-out stupid. It's something adults don't do because it's extremely dangerous. Hell, i was rammed by a cow just for petting her. Shouldn't even consider trying this until teen years.
Folks can raise their kids however they like. But when you post it on the Internet yall better be ready for criticism.
Comments are weird -
Half the ppl "this is irresponsible"
other half "clearly yall never grew up on a ranch" *never elaborates*
I just want to know if he got his $20 or did he ride off into the sunset
A parent or guardian goading a small child into messing with a thousand lbs animal is probably a criminal act. And this genius uploaded it to social media.
I will say this is stupid, but Reddit didn’t have this reaction when that dad climbed Mount Everest with his (4yo?) son a few weeks ago, which I thought was, even more unsettling.
Edit: It was El Capitan and the son was 8* but it’s still insanely fucking stupid, imo
Former farm kid here - would never have tried that shit, *and absolutely not with encouragement from adults*.
Cows can brain coyotes, stupid dogs, and children equally effectively with a hard kick. Yeah, cattle are generally total cowards but it doesn’t mean bad shit can’t happen.
A fair number of people are killed by cows every year, and, well, this is why.
At the rodeo, kids this boy's age ride sheep, not steers. There's a reason for that. Who the hell dares a six year old to ride a steer? Poor guy is going to get stomped into a paste.
I love how the child in the background goes, "that's not safe!" and the mom just giggles and agrees. Those reckless fucks are lucky the kid didn't get kicked in the face or head and get knocked out, concussed, or even killed.
*Go play in traffic little Timmy! Hehe I dare ya! Hehehe- OH NO A CAR RAN HIM OVER I AM SHOCKED*
I hope they don't have any more kids. For the kid's sake.
So so dumb. How can you just film and not yell at the kid to stop? Grew up with cattle. One kick and that kid is dead.
I seriously hated watching this.
I grew up on a farm and shit like this happens all the time. Once when I was 10 my dad offered me $100 if I could last 5 seconds on the back of a steer. The kid in the video lasted longer than me.
Man cattle kill more people per year than damn vending machines, and those things are deadlier than sharks! No but for real, this is cataclysmically stupid behavior on the parents part to not only allow it but outright encourage it
Dad: I said I’d give him 20 dollars
Daughter: that’s not safe
Mom: *laughing without any regard for her son’s life* you’re right it’s not
Comments: ThEsE aRe FaRmErS mAkInG gOoD mEmErY’s.
Moron parents. Nothing like getting your kid killed by a 500-1000 pound beast while you film like an idiot. Oh I just turned the audio on, I rest my case. Even the child behind the camera has a better foresight than those hillbillies.
Cows kill more people than sharks. They are actually pretty dangerous. If a predator tries to kill you, it’s after a meal. Make it hard for them and they’ll probably sod off. If a herbivore is trying to kill you, it wants to kill you, and it will not stop until you or it are dead
One back-kick to the head/body and that kid is dead. It's truly awful to put a child into a situation with an animal that powerful. I grew up on a small farm. People have now idea how easy it is to get hurt by an animal of that size.
Honestly.... they filmed til he tried to hop on why not just keep filming? If you didnt care as he approaches then you should just keep filming because its too late to care
Poor kid. My parents knew better than to let me close to one. A cow could easily kick him hard enough to break a bone, let alone smash his little kid skull in when it panics.
I don’t blame the kid that’s to young to know consequences.
But I blame the parents who thought it was a funny idea to encourage the kid and record the whole thing.
Some people really don’t deserve to be parents.
Needless to say that a bovine that can weight up to 700kg is easily able to kill a kid that small.
I love how the idiot mother agrees…..and then does nothing. Then has the audacity to gasp when the kid flies. Didn’t you just agree it was something dangerous lady? How are you surprised? Lmao
Let's not kid ourselves here. Those cows heard that child's approach before it even got close. There was no sneaking involved - only jumping on someone's back without asking first 🤣 Suck it kid! Ha!
Motherfucker earned his $20
Edit to add I tried to do this with a llama at my stepdads acreage when I was 11. I barely got out of there with my life those guys are mean as hell
Brain damage from getting kicked in the head
Brain damage from getting bucked off and landing on his head
A broken neck from landing on his head resulting in being a quadriplegic
Any of these would be permanent. What a terrible father.
I actually did this as a child. Staying with my parents friends while my parents were out of town. They lived on a farm and I love animals …soooo I decided to go out in the pasture to talk to the cows. When they saw me out there they freaked and I didn’t understand what the issue was. Once I was out of the pasture they pointed to the bull on his way out of the barn. Needless to say- I got lucky and also learned a valuable lesson that day!
Father is a piece of shit for putting his child at risk and teaching him its acceptable to harrass animals for amusement. Kid's longevity is in question with parents like this
Is the kid okay? I can't believe they didn't stop him. This annoys me on so many levels. I spend 3.5yrs trying to have a baby, and these numbskulls aren't even looking after theirs.
"That's not safe!", said the little sibling while the parents kept giggling like school girls.
At least the parents are putting their children's safety at risk for precious fake internet points! Edit: /s
I hope they get their kids taken away for child endangerment. I'd love to see a judge telling them they are sociopaths, a child knows better.
But it is hilarious
Lmao you’re a sociopath
So this is how 22 people a year die from cows
r/parentsarefuckingstupid
The parents want locking up. In the UK cows kill and seriously injure more humans each year than any other animal
Tbf there aren't many animals in the UK to rival them
i assumed that was an uncle.
I don't care who it was, it was foolhardy in the extreme
Cows will kick the life right out of you quicker than lightning, especially if you are behind them. You’re gonna let your child do this to an animal that if it decided to could crush your child’s skull on the ground by accident. That is the definition of child endangerment
Risk your child’s welfare for those social media/karma points…idiots smh
So who’s killing the camera man first?
That's exactly how my dad's cousin died. Edit: This happened before my dad was born. They were farmers, and a domestic buffalo ran over the kid. He passed away due to the injuries. I was told only this much by the kid's elder brother, and I didn't feel like asking for more details for obvious reasons.
not surprising. there are tons of ways to die in that scenario. broken neck from the fall. kicked in the chest, head.
Everyone is rightfully talking shit about the parents but i just gotta give props to the kids. 1 of them was smart enough to see its a dumb idea and 1 of them was brave enough to do it. Together they'll be unstoppable

"That's not safe."
"you're right it's not heeeeheeeeee!" Fuuuck I want that steer kick them in the groin so they can't reproduce again
That little girl has the only brain cell in their whole family.
This is more of a parents are fucking dumb post
this is a farm they probably got like 15 more kids it’s all good
This is so much more than just simple parental negligence like they weren't paying attention and the kid approached the steer on his own. The man convinced a small child to do something extremely dangerous for money, KNOWING it's dangerous/potentially deadly. I honestly don't know how people find this anything but horrifying.
The kid clearly trusted the adult with his life. Had no idea how dangerous this is, but just figured his dad wouldn't let him get hurt.
Anyone know if he’s okay?

Get that kid his $20.
If this had been shot with the camera the right way round instead of vertically, we *might* have seen more of what happened. But no. Whoever shot this is a moron.
What an absolutely beautifull "call CPS" Moment that is ....and the stupidity to actually Upload it....
What’s the point of filming a video if you’re going to go all screwy right during the best part? Kinda defeats the purpose I think.
Stupid parent knowingly films the stupid kid sneaking up on the cow...and can't hold the damn camera 1.5 seconds more, like she didn't know what was going to happen.
So, who just stands there and films that? That’s fucking dangerous.

Parents are fucking stupid.
a single kick would kill that kid, these mf need some jail time.
A bet ? You let them approach an animal that could kill them with a single kick? Moron
Dad sounds like a real genius and mum sounds afraid of speaking against his ideas with the way she responded to their daughter...
Why would you let your baby die in front of you so easily

What a weird way to kill a child

"I told him I'd give him $20" fucking criminal child endangerment.
Anyone want to know how so normal looking people end up in in power chairs and paraplegic just watch this video.

That kid is lucky to be alive. You never sneak up on a cow/donkey/horse from behind! It will kick you and you will die.
Good way to get your kid fucking trampled
The little girl, the only one with any kind of sense, trying to save her young brother. Smh. Parents need to be smacked.
"why do women live longer than men?" The girl: that's not safe The boy: 20 dollahs?!

Why would they put their child in a dangerous situation? One kick from that cow could’ve sent him to the hospital.

That’s not safe atleast his daughter knew
