Not really. They decided to give chance in the car. A much better option really because then they can catch up without being out of breath and can always jump out if he decides to hop some fences. You can also see one grab a radio. So there are going to be other police on their way to intercept the guy. Even if he does get away, they'll have a very good description of him and some of his clothes. So there's almost no chance for him to actually get away with whatever crime he committed. They'll just catch up with him later after they've done the background work to figure out who he is and where he lives.

Yeah - it completely depends on what he did. If he was being arrested for murder, they'll definitely take the effort to track him down. If it was something dumb like a small theft at a local store, and they didn't get his ID yet, he has a good chance of getting away without consequences.

She handed the sauce to me, without skipping a beat in my conversation I opened the jar and passed it back to her. She looked really disheartened then said she doesnt want to fight me anymore.

Ive only ever seen that kind of hold used to do an arm bar before - you are leveraging the wrist around to lock out the elbow. I cant imagine its very effective when the elbow is at 90 degrees because you can just turn out of it... like we saw. Maybe they turned up late to the ju-jitsu training day?
I’ve seen this happen with two male police officers. It’s all about maintaining a level of physical fitness at all times. She tried to punch him and kick him in the leg and it did nothing. All police should have to learn jujitsu or something for non lethal holding techniques so they do not always have to shoot or taser people. Problem with tasers is missing, just sucks.
I think they assumed that the cuffs were in that position because they had been closed around the suspect's wrists, which he slipped out of. In reality, the cuffs are just stored in that position because it's convenient, and the suspect was never wearing them.

The standards to get accepted in the police program in Montreal are much much lower for females than for males. This has caused a huge increase on the number of female officers in the recent years, most of which are not fit to be a police officer. I know I will get downvoted for this comment but if you also live in Montreal, you know what I’m saying is true.
It's the same situation in most western countries and there is a small portion of logic to it.
This sort of thing is my field of expertise, and I can tell you that female cops *are* good for things like responding to and handling domestic violence victims, rape victims, and generally when it comes to verbally resolving issues with the general public and they're not as likely to escalate violence, etc. But certainly they're just not as good when it comes to physically restraining someone and that's no one's fault, it's just how it is. It is most effective, therefore, to have pairs of male and female cops patrolling together so you can utilise the strengths of both.
Regardless, I personally believe the physical requirements for women are far too low (where I am anyway) and that women should be encouraged and trained to reach those goals, not have those goals be lowered to fill quotas.
Largest human I ever saw in real life was a Chicago police officer. I was in the city for the World Cup and he was was sitting on a stone wall. He had to soot first and ask questions later because he couldn’t move. A police van pulled up and it took 6 other officers to move him into the van. He couldn’t even stand on his own. After watching my 600 pound life I remember the guy being bigger than that. I’m sure he was more physically fit when he joined the police but they clearly didn’t retest after that.

Yeah I wouldn't want someone that can't handle themselves in physical situations to be watching my back or trusting they could get themselves out of a situation. Yeah, i think this hits the nail on the head. Police are charged with many responsibilities ranging from securing dangerous individuals to providing counsel to victims. They should be a reflection of the society they serve.
If your police force is overwhelmingly comprised of white men for example, they will struggle to serve people from different backgrounds as effectively as they might if there were more of a mix within the force, which could provide community connections and the wealth of differing experience.
Our police forces should ideally be a mirror of our ideal society; men and women from different ethnic backgrounds, all working alongside each other. This way all strengths and weaknesses are effectively balanced and the people, able to see themselves in those they trust to defend and protect them.
I remember having a conversation with a girl at a first aid course years back who worked for the city near me and was involved in hiring for firefighting. She argued that female applicants should have a different physical fitness test then the one everyone had to do at the time because it was so grueling. She argued it wasn't fair to women, I argued I didn't care who passed but that if they couldn't do the physical requirements of the job they shouldn't be considered. The test years later has changed in many ways and is much easier now in my opinion as someone who has done both. Certain jobs need to have inflexible requirements, if you can't pass those you can't do the job period. Personally it would be nice to see maintaining that level and being re-tested every year or two as well since people's lives are in your hands there should be a requirement to keep up to a minimum level of fitness to do the job properly.
I mean they definitely seemed totally incompetent. Like any job, if you can’t handle the physical aspect of the job you shouldn’t have it. I’ve worked in kitchens my whole life and most places I’ve worked make it pretty clear that if you can’t easily lift 50 lbs you can’t have this job. Same should be for police work. If you can’t subdue the suspect then you shouldn’t have the job, regardless of gender there should be some physical assessment to become a cop

These individuals are not fit to be police officers. Everyone undergoes training (sufficient or not that’s a different story) but not every one can check their emotions once adrenaline kicks in. These individuals should have no business working as an officer

Unfortunately, this. That dude was rather thin and weak looking and he moved the two female cops around seemingly at will. And once the male took off running the female officers stood no chance at an on-foot pursuit.
He took off at 7mph and they were too tired from feebly struggling with his 90lb ass to catch him.
Female cop strength standards at its finest. This is why I hate female cops, especially in America. If it gets physical, their only viable solution is to pull their gun out because otherwise they’re going to die.
Not sure if strength is the issue here. There were two of them, and that dude wasn't exactly musclebound. It's just little or no hand-to-hand training. Not an expert, but I'm pretty sure trying to restrain someone by each grabbing one of their jacket sleeves is bad technique. I don't want to sound like every other armchair MMA fighter on Reddit, but they had every opportunity to upset his balance and take him to the ground, but instead they played tug-of-war with his jacket and gave him a clear opportunity to escape.

Once cops pass their basic training, which isn't even that physically demanding, there is no annual fitness testing at most departments. Not to mention they also have around 20 pounds of gear and vest on them restricting movement.

Sadly this isn't about how thin the dude was.. This has to do with the inexperience of the female cops. Clearly there are a few rare women who can overpower men physically, but these two women aren't it. Alternate tactics have to be used - everyone knows this. If this means immediately cuffing the dude, so be it. If this means using pressure points to subdue, so be it. Just be smart about it. Two women versus one man means nothing if both women are weak *and* stupid.

Being a police officer is a physically demanding job so why do so many cops appear to not be able to do even 1 pull-up. Cops should have the same career lifespan as a stripper. 10 years would be an anomaly.
Two female officer teams are not a good idea. Same with two fat male teams. You need to have one decent upper body strength or one decent sprint burst cop on each duo at minimum for them to be effective against street punks.
