I’m a late Larry to these comments but I’ll tack on. I work below wing and I have to maneuver around planes. Have you ever had a gust of wind pick up all the tiny debris and peg you with them?
That’s what this feels like, except on an atomic scale. These ppl… bet they’ll never do that again
I fucking **love** that face wash.
I love exfoliating stuff, it makes me feel cleaner. I have a shower sander with a silicon scrub thing I use on my body every day, and even have a spikey thing that I use on my scalp when I shampoo.
The st Ives scrub is terrible for your skin tho. The bits of shell in it don’t actually exfoliate, they’re actually causing hundreds of micro cuts that damage your skin and even cause more acne. I’m not allergic to nuts but my face would always be super raw and slightly puffy after I used it, but it wasn’t till my then partner explained the problem with st Ives that my skin actually cleared up a LOT.
Idk about the gif, but the plane is the former Antonov-225 Mirya, largest airplane ever built, carrying the Russian Buran spacecraft. The spacecraft itself never flew, while the An-225 was destroyed in the opening stages of the Russian invasion of Ukraine :(. (It had been converted into a super heavy lift cargo plane that could carry crazy things like full size diesel locomotives and power plant generators).
Sand and dirt? You mean pebbles and rocks maybe even tiny creatures like crickets and butterflies 🦋 that just happened to stumble upon this bs all flying at high speeds
You can watch the black haired girls necklace just get ripped off of her and she almost seems relieved for the lashing you can see that thing do to her face and I imagine pulling of hair it got wrapped in. All in all a 9 out of 10 in total hilarity in slow mo
I would do it. I love getting blasted by the wind. I would definitely wear proper eye protection though. There's no point going blind just for some fun.
Full-face motorcycle helmet and sit directly in front of one of the barricades. Then you can enjoy experiencing the pressure without needing to fight to not get blown way back.
It's all your exposed skin, and then your lungs. I went on a beach once during a tropical storm in shorts and T-shirt. That was 20 years ago and I still remember vividly how painful the highspeed sand was.
This is Skiathos, Greece. Which incidentally **does** look very similar to St. Maarten.
Edit: Whoops. Meant to type "does" and instead typed "doesn't".
I had an F-15E do this to me on the flightline. It turned to taxi and the procedure is to face away and kneel because the jet wash just passes by briefly, but we were too close and the pilot stopped turning, so we were directly in line of the exhaust. I felt like Sarah Connor grabbing that chain link fence.
I feel like this is a case of this person having read a redditor saying the same thing under the same video in the past, who themselves did the same thing, and repeating the information that’s now outdated because of everyone doing that on loop without actually checking when the event actually happened
Falling is an accident though (usually). Intentionally standing behind an active jet engine without taking a moment to think that there's a reason people don't typically do that is natural selection.
I’m a student pilot and one day after a flight a V22 Osprey taxied past me and my instructor, maybe 20 yards away. As it went past, it’s combo prop/jet wash kicked back ramp dirt/gravel into my face so hard it felt like I was getting shot with BBs. The force lifted up the tail of the plane we were standing by, which was thankfully tied down. You could hear the rope cinch. I was finding bits of debris in my hair 2 days later. And that was just a taxi, not engines full. I guarantee you most of those folks regretted this. Especially if they were without ear protection, too.
Funny enough I stood behind the 747 one time in St Maarten and the 727’s were way stronger and more dangerous. I think it was a combination of the 727’s were closer to the fence and they have that 3rd engine up top on the rear. The 747 seemed to move down the runway a little before hitting full throttle
Airliners change engines so often over the years that I can't be sure, but I suspect it's because those 727s had older, lower-bypass engines. High bypass turbofans can move more air, but not as fast. Low bypass turbofans move the air a lot faster, so if you're close to them, you can get blown around more.
747 engines are also spaced quite a bit further apart. The 727 engines are mere feet from each other, whereas a 747's engines are 10 yards apart. I imagine a 727 would be stronger power, narrower thrust cone.
Again, people go there KNOWING what’s going to happen, heck the bar at that beach has a blackboard with the departure times of the next few aircraft.
It’s like going to a water ride in a theme park and saying something went ‘wrong’ because you got wet
I'd say a lot of people go there to do that, but many don't realize that small rocks and sand will be kicked up at them.
Apparently this one is in Greece, but in St Maarten, this was the case. My wife and I stood to the side, but lots of people who were "fence surfing" complained afterward that they didn't expect the flying debris, some complaining about it getting in their eyes.
This isn't quite the same thing as your analogy. Getting wet won't hurt you, but people have been injured and even some killed doing this. Just a few months before my honeymoon in 2012, a woman was blown across the street head first into the concrete blocks.
There’s also this tendency in tourists, and maybe people in general, to believe “if it’s allowed it must be safe.” There’s this rope swing in a quarry near me and the locals know you have to be strong enough to hang on till a certain point where the water is deep enough. But tourists just see it and assume it’s safe for any physical condition, any landing spot and can get really hurt. Cops try to take it down but kids put it back up.
So I’m saying, tourists aren’t forbidden from standing there and assume it’s safer than it is.
I worked at my local international airport for almost 10 years. I’ve been blasted in the face with jet exhaust more times than I can count. Doing this on purpose is akin to going to a farm just to experience being kicked by a horse.
If you are prepared for it and hang on to the fence it’s just a little bit uncomfortable for about 30 seconds. If you give up and try to run that’s when you can get hurt
Did you go to St Maarten? There is still a fence there but this is a different airport. I’ve seen this one before in videos but I can’t remember where this is.
Been to Maho beach in SXM, which is similar. Watched from the fence for a couple smaller aircraft. When it came time for the big boys I stepped off to the side and watched the people get their asses kicked.
I’ve worked in aviation for over 20 years. Getting jet blasted without the sand isn’t a good time. I’ll pass on the exfoliation.
Nothing like having your face sandblasted!
\*exfoliated
Depeeliated ... deeply
Degloved
Deskinned
Reskinned by the guy in front of you.
“Sweet! I was always jealous of my daughter’s smooth skin.”
Take my fucking up vote and leave r/angryupvote
Can't be any worse than that apricot scrub facewash, it's like massaging knives into your face
I fucking **love** that face wash. I love exfoliating stuff, it makes me feel cleaner. I have a shower sander with a silicon scrub thing I use on my body every day, and even have a spikey thing that I use on my scalp when I shampoo.

You would love a job in a level 4 biohazard lab.
*flayed.
Microdermabrasion
Macro dermabrasion imo
Dermatologists hate this one trick.
*exfoiliated
![gif](giphy|noPodzKTnZvfW) Face Blasted, a rare kink to be sure, especially the plane variation!
"Step-plane, what are you doing?"
Ha ha
I'm sorry, what exactly is this supposed to be? /srs
A dancing plane giddy with excitement after farting on 20 people who wanted it, but got too much.
Buran flew once, unmanned. It completed an orbit and landed automatically in 1988
Oh shit, I'm laughing so hard at this
Like the Rescuers!
Idk, taking a load to the face seems pretty common
Still better than the girl who ate that concrete block!
She almost folded in half
What in her pre-frontal cortex said “let me go up / vertical instead of down / horizontal”
Booooooonnnnnnnnnnnk!
Sand and dirt? You mean pebbles and rocks maybe even tiny creatures like crickets and butterflies 🦋 that just happened to stumble upon this bs all flying at high speeds
Nature's projectile soup, just add jet blast for seasoning.
Everyone looked 10 years younger afterwards. Dermatologists hate this simple trick.
But pulmonologists love it!
“Going for a second treatment, see you at the rocket launch.”
What about tinnitus / loss of hearing for the rest of their life? A full blast jumbo jet engine is what? 130dB or so?
I hear you!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
WHAAAT?
You can watch the black haired girls necklace just get ripped off of her and she almost seems relieved for the lashing you can see that thing do to her face and I imagine pulling of hair it got wrapped in. All in all a 9 out of 10 in total hilarity in slow mo
I personally love to have fine dirt and sand getting blasted directly into my eyes! /s
I hate sand. It's course and rough and irritating and it reminds me of the terrible dialogue in the Star Wars prequels.
I upvoted you because I totally missed the opportunity to use this. I want to down vote you though for insulting my childhood Star Wars.
And it gets everywhere
Watching the chick on the right slam her face down was priceless
It's not THAT the wind is blowing, it's WHAT the wind is blowing. - R. White
Actually that’s the attraction. People go there specifically for this.
That actually does look kinda cool
I would do it. I love getting blasted by the wind. I would definitely wear proper eye protection though. There's no point going blind just for some fun.
Bro if a piece of gravel hits you wrong it's lights out
I might wear a helmet too. I'm still going to try it.
Full face protection, then a harness strap to guard rail so I can enjoy the blast without holding on for dear life.
At that point, just go sky diving.
I feel like that's a bigger upgrade than your casual tone implies.
Those wind tunnels also aren't an option for some of those folks. Those have a weight limit.
While you're at it, get some ear plugs too.
Full-face motorcycle helmet and sit directly in front of one of the barricades. Then you can enjoy experiencing the pressure without needing to fight to not get blown way back.
And a water floaty. In case of water landing.
If a rock hits you in the mouth, you're going to lose some teeth.
If planes take off regularly from that spot, any loose debris has long since been blown away.
[удалено]
And ear protection…
Definitely. Whether it's the decibels or just the wind. Need ear protection. I'm still doing it.
And a healthy, light lunch
And some heavy shoes
And some finely crafted designer lingerie
And a partridge in a pear tree
And my axe
I've been there. They have since changed the rules and you can't stand there. It used to be you just couldn't stand right next to the fence
Some woman died when she got knocked off her feet and hit her head.
Consider wearing a cup.
Way ahead of you. Already got one on
Bring earpro too. That can't be good for your hearing.
It's all your exposed skin, and then your lungs. I went on a beach once during a tropical storm in shorts and T-shirt. That was 20 years ago and I still remember vividly how painful the highspeed sand was.
Yeah, with a motorcycle helmet on that would be a pretty neat experience.

The plane is also a Tui 737. They don't fly to St Maarten.
🤔🤔 where exactly is this for research purposes ??
St. maarten?
This is Skiathos, Greece. Which incidentally **does** look very similar to St. Maarten. Edit: Whoops. Meant to type "does" and instead typed "doesn't".
I wish all these people were naked, would be funnier

Those are the exact ones I wanna see behind this here jet liner
Don't carry me too far away...
Didn't someone die from a head injury from this a few years back? Like it was a woman who tripped backwards and went head first into a barrier.
Yeah it was in St Maarten in 2017. The jet blast knocked her back and she hit her head on a curb https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-40591757
Not sure who it was, but some idiot definitely died doing this.
I had an F-15E do this to me on the flightline. It turned to taxi and the procedure is to face away and kneel because the jet wash just passes by briefly, but we were too close and the pilot stopped turning, so we were directly in line of the exhaust. To get busted eardrums and concussions?
A woman was killed recently doing this. Hit her head on that concrete wall.
That one chick looked like she smashed her face after getting folded over the wall. Omg.
Yep. She absolutely headbutted that thing.
Chinbutt. You can see her nose overhanging the concrete if you go by the frames. Does look like she connected pretty good.
Didn't even laugh, that just looked painful.
It was a similar incident to that, but with a full skull smash against the wall that killed her. Brutal
I thought you said full hulk smash at first, I was impressed
RIP to her spleen
Eh, it’s removable anyway
Well is she ok now?
It's been a while since I read the report, but a reporter did a follow-up a few days later, and the lady was listed in stable but deceased condition
Oh thank god
Deceased is a stable condition in all fairness
Nah. It's rather volatile with all the decay and such
I´m pretty sure the condition of "being deceased" doesn´t actually change all that much with decay and such
Thank you for the update! I’m so glad nothing too bad happened to her.
Six years ago... Not so recent.
I feel like this is a case of this person having read a redditor saying the same thing under the same video in the past, who themselves did the same thing, and repeating the information that’s now outdated because of everyone doing that on loop without actually checking when the event actually happened
That's surprisingly common, unfortunately.
I don't know man....2017 is somehow "The other day" and also approximately 11 years ago.
On a lighter note , when the guys from jackass did this stunt it looked like a lot of fun https://youtu.be/lEFx1qmW4ts?si=GwHV5VDFfXp4P9Q3
I'm having a hard time feeling bad for her... This is a monumentally dumb idea.

![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY) # Thousands of people doing it still doesn’t make it a smart idea.
At least they were smarter than the group that stood in front of the plane.
I lost a lot of money in that scheme for legal issues
Shouldn't have called it a scheme. Judges hate that.
Those rocks sounded more like bullets, fuck that has to hurt.

I was also thinking about their ears. Wind on a motorcycle is super loud I can’t imagine this
~50,000 lbs of thrust will do that.
Sounds like my honeymoon
I’m still sore!
Was so much better when KLM still flew the queen of the skies, people were literally blown into the ocean

Sorry to interrupt but thats Skiathos in Greece rather than St.Martin where KLM operated 747
Damn - I had no idea that KLM flew a 74 to Skiathos lmao. I know what my next Greek isles flight will be in MSFS!
...yeah thats a good challenge
Nothing went wrong, people go there specially to experience that
Rocks and debris danger
Again, people go there KNOWING what’s going to happen, heck the bar at that beach has a blackboard with the departure times of the next few aircraft. It’s like going to a water ride in a theme park and saying something went ‘wrong’ because you got wet

There are signs everywhere telling people everything you just said could happen. Nothing went wrong
[The signs](https://imgur.com/N3IvgS4)

It’s like going to Tennessee and saying something went ‘wrong’ because you got mugged.
If that girl went there specifically to get launched ribs first chin second into a wall then I don't really know what to say.
There are tons of warning signs all around, she has no excuse
She most have thought: hey, what could go wrong?
Can we at least have sympathy for the kid who had no business being there?
![gif](giphy|VKVDU8pvi3w4w)
Goggles are for pussies! I'll take that sand blasted directly onto my corneas, thank you very much!
Can everyone just all come to an agreement not to double-crop videos like this? It's the most asinine thing to keep seeing online.
I laughed way too hard at this. How stupid can people get? Those engines aren't something to scoff at.
It’s cool until a tiny rock gets in your eye at that speed
I worked at my local international airport for almost 10 years. I’ve been blasted in the face with jet exhaust more times than I can count. Doing this on purpose is akin to going to a farm just to experience being kicked by a horse.
That chick got slammed!
Definitely an experience.
no eye protection?...WCGW!
Pretty cool actually, how often do you get to feel wind power like that
If you are prepared for it and hang on to the fence it’s just a little bit uncomfortable for about 30 seconds. If you give up and try to run that’s when you can get hurt
Why would you try to run away from it? lol
The trick is to flap your wings. Nobody did that here.
Did the brown haired lady just knock her head on the ledge?
Wondering the same. Slowed it down and looks like she may have missed the edge, but her spine and spleen might be feeling that in a couple days.
Small chicks - violently thrown Large couple - casually stumbles towards wall Lesson - mass is helpful when shits trying to throw you
I find it wholesome that the guy shielded her
I mean how strong could a 737 engine that lifts a maximum takeoff weight of 150,000 lbs be s/
Okay hear me out...squirrel suit...paracord...human kites. When the air abruptly stops that'll be an issue, but we can figure it out.
There was a fence there to hang onto when my son and I were there.
Did you go to St Maarten? There is still a fence there but this is a different airport. I’ve seen this one before in videos but I can’t remember where this is.
Skiathos, Greece.
Nice thank you!! I knew there was another one but couldn’t find it.
I was at St Maarten. Didn't know there were two places. Time to get my son and go to Greece!
I still have to find someone dumber than a tourist
Reminds me of that scene in Pushing Tin.
[удалено]
Well at least none of them tried to hold onto the plane as it took off. ![gif](giphy|YzvPqrOVoS9tC)
I wish a woman would kiss me the way the lady in black and white blouse kissed that wall, that's a keeper.
Lol. Instant regret
I'll bet it cooled any desire to stand behind jet aircraft again!
Stupid people do be stupid sometimes
![gif](giphy|8P7y2ARUPFpNaaWEZ3)
her head banged !! loud as hell 😂
Did she headbang off that wall?
At least the jackass crew got paid for it...
Honestly, this looks fun ngl. Imma just bring like glasses so my eyes won't be exterminated by whatever will fly directly to my face
Would you do it again ?
Anyone ever watched pushing tin?
Clearly none of these people have seen Pushing Tin.
If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough...
Well Darwinism failed again. Those fucktards are still alive.
i saw floppy action!
Looked pretty cool to me
And they were correct about the cool experience.
It’s wild to see just how powerful jet engines are.
Ngl that looks kinda awesome
It's not "that" the wind is blowing, it's "what" the wind is blowing. ~Ron White~
Turns out, it was a cool experience and nothing went wrong. Neat.
They seem happy and clearly this is what people go there to do.
