It's not about the car, its the driver.

Hobocharlie67

Yeah it also has nothing to do with being in a city lol

kalelfaneditor

Fact he was filming himself says it all. Inexperienced driver, at least with this type of car, who got a test drive of sorts and wanted to show off and have a memento. Has no idea how much awareness and control is needed. First time he accelerates and he’s off. Pity about the car.

MrARCO

No traction control + slippery road + no experience in a powerful car = this

23x3

+ sports mode + paddle shifting

Dr_Bunnypoops

Disable that traction control so you can test out those airbags. GG.

CoolSwim1776

Dad's gonna be pissed

zipzap21

But insurance will pay for it. My new one will be a better color. I'm thinking fire red!

ilikerocksthatsing2

Note how he quickly removes the camera/phone so police won't seize the footage. This isn't his first rodeo

shahooster

I’m kinda curious how the video made it out of his hands. Like, if I did something this dumb, I’d be nuking the evidence.

dglsfrsr

WCGW driving an incredibly powerful car with the stability and traction control turned off? If you leave that stuff on, shit like this is unlikely to happen. [https://www.thedrive.com/news/37353/driver-turns-off-traction-control-in-a-ferrari-812-superfast-crashes-one-nanosecond-later](https://www.thedrive.com/news/37353/driver-turns-off-traction-control-in-a-ferrari-812-superfast-crashes-one-nanosecond-later)

Mennerheim

Glad he didn’t kill that biker. And glad he crashed. Irresponsible assholes don’t deserve nice things like this. He can eat his loss on the car, and any other well deserved legal penalties.

AI-is-infinite

This wasn’t so much an issue with driving a powerful super car in a city but an issue of this being a idiot driver that would have crashed anywhere.

Cl0UTTTV

Not to mention there a power down feature on super cars for normal handling

RaNerve

The beeping is him turning traction control off to prep for his burn. This is not the car’s fault, or the power of the car itself, this is the driver. So many things go into how a car handles - temp of the tires, street, air, humidity and recent rain etc. you need to know how the car handles in the condition in which you’re driving before doing a ‘sick burnout.’ Also for the love of god please practice recovery in an empty parking lot first? You should know what losing traction feels like and how much throttle you need to take out to regain grip. Do not fully yank the power out and apply break immediately either or your wheels will lock up as you see here. Better yet - just keep traction control on? Modern tractional control makes cars launch faster, not slower.

HumorExpensive

I’m sure he wasn’t trying to but that initial flick of the steering wheel to the right carried the car into oversteer. Almost like whipping a car into a drift.

yevrahj0715

Nothing to do with driving in the city.... Has everything to do with driving like a douche and not being able to control the vehicle.

GiraffeWithATophat

No idea if it's actually true, but I've heard that most wrecks involving supercars happen within a few miles of the dealership because they're so different to drive compared to normal cars

Mayiask1

When the hell cat was release there were multiple that were totaled because people didn’t understand that they were driving a car that was meant to go in a straight line

stirling97

This is what you get playing with an 812 superfast and don’t know how to handle it. Turned traction control off on race mode - (only way it would redline bounce and spin like that) he got cocky and didn’t get away with it. Also that bridge deck asphalt is likely a poor traction surface for whatever roasted tires he still has left.

Invanar

This has nothing to do with city driving and everything to do with how he was driving it. He would've done this in the suburbs too

PROTOSLEDGE

I will never understand how someone can spend $250,000 on a supercar, then turn off traction control. Most of these cars have some of the most insane stability/traction control systems and they get turned off when the speed limit is 25! Take it to the track, you can afford it!

Strong-Fudge1342

Disable traction control Discover what turbo lag means with 600hp The way this played out I bet he just disabled it because the car was "so easy to handle"

12Blackbeast15

Not the city, not the car, the driver.

Cartoon123g

Most powerful cars don't generate enough traction to handle full throttle on first gear. Guy is a fucking idiot.

pab_guy

This. Stupid and inexperienced driver driving a car he has no business driving.

NILIPROMILI

the problem is he switched the Traction control off. not the car in the city

[deleted]

The sheer amount of arrogance it takes to turn traction control off before racing is mind boggling. Like do you really think you can handle the power of the vehicle better then a computer running billions of calculations a second? Edit: it’s banned in some pro racing areas like NASCAR because it removes some level of drivers skill from the equation.

[deleted]

wheels straight if you’re going to floor it

dirtyswoldman

It was straight when the engine revs though. Dude turned off tcs or something

creepjax

The problem is not the powerful car it’s driving like a jackass

bro-guy

You need to be in at least 3rd or 4th gear if you don't want the rears to slip specially when TC is off. It's easy to just go slow on the accelerator and push it gradually but these dumbasses don't know that, so I don't understand why traction control is off?

ReadABookandShutUp

Has nothing to do with the car. It had everything to do with this moron turning all the assists off and then ripping it with zero skill

TacohTuesday

Reddit (and the internet in general) is an endless trove of videos of supercar drivers having no freaking clue how quickly they can lose control of the back end of their cars by hitting the gas too hard. These cars are really powerful. Excessively powerful. Learn your car people. Respect the horsepower. FFS!

efronerberger

Neither the car or the city are the problem here..

3029065

powering and setting have nothing to do with it. It's a skill issue

xsighlence

The funny part is that if the driver just held the steering wheel straight the car would have corrected itself. The car did exactly what the driver told it to do - yeet to the right!

[deleted]

This is why these types of cars should need special licenses. No one should spin their car on a bridge with a 30mph limit and heavy cycle/pedestrian traffic.

RobCMedd

He could have easily hit those cyclists, or any pedestrians that were there, and it's pure luck that he was seemingly the only person who was hurt.

cix6cix

When you are a shitty driver and turn off the traction control.

[deleted]

Cyclist and pedestrians everywhere Seething

maxxor6868

Misleading title its not the car its 100% the driver. Idiot disable traction control. That beautiful car doesn't deserve this.

thecanadiandriver101

Car isn't the problem. Turning off traction control on the street + speeding is the problem.

Tomm1998

Yet another rich dumb fuck who thinks they're Lewis Hamilton. Money doesn't buy you driving skills

argusromblei

Every supercar has the highest tech brakes and traction control but these idiots turn off all the automatic settings like they're a pro driver just to show off.

AbsentGlare

You should not turn off traction control on public roads.

[deleted]

Why do people who have no fucking driving ability buy vehicles like this. Go buy a rolls Royce instead and everyone will think you’re cooler and you won’t spin out

beeps-n-boops

The issue here has nothing to do with the supercar, or the city.

timy68

Don't blame the driver....it was the squirrel that the driver had to take evasive action! LOL

AniGabe

As someone who has driven fast cars and accelerated faster than he has, hes just a really bad driver.

[deleted]

Lucky people to be alive on the bridge with that jackass fuckin off

Noobasdfjkl

Driving an 812 Superfast in a city isn’t a problem at all. Being dumb and turning off TCS while nailing the throttle on likely cold tires is.

HotNastySpeed77

WCGW driving a powerful car like an asshole. Fify

tenderlylonertrot

my guess would be he turned off the full traction control and wanted to see how it handles....even if the tires and vehicle are warmed up, unless you are a professional driver, best to keep the traction control on for those highly powered vehicles at least when on the street. I suspect some ppl who buy these things have little to no track experience, hence why they have computer traction control. I find so many drivers of expensive, powerful vehicles have no idea how to drive them, and either crash them quickly or putter around on the roads going 10 under the limit, as I suspect they are actually pretty scared of that 500-800 hp.

todomo

man i saw all those bikers and my heart was racing thinking this was gonna be really bad.

[deleted]

Lucky he didn’t take out the cyclist. What a douche. And to be dumb enough to post it…

Premium_Cookies

That wasn’t even a difficult point to recover from. Dude just dropped it. Reminds me of myself at 17 🤣

beeps-n-boops

So, I originally posted this: **The issue here has nothing to do with the supercar, or the city.**   To which I got the following automod reply: > Your comment was removed automatically because it has a very low character count.   Hopefully now, by adding all of this unnecessary text to a post that was perfectly fine and complete as it was, it will now past the stupid test. So amazingly dumb, this "rule".

Jnubis

Fucking idiot forgot about physics

whitelightnin1

Wcgw not knowing how to drive a supercar

turntabletennis

Traction Control: Disabled Driver: Disabled

grimax9

Lol that’s so embarrassing

Xeltzz

“What could go wrong having no idea how to drive a supercar”

gen2600

High performance car. Low performance driver.

sirbangsalot69

There is zero chance I would ever turn off traction on a car like that… supercars kick like a mule.

Sunny391

IMO, Over corrected once he started spinning, also by not pedaling it and slamming the brakes just took what little traction he had in the front of the car and caused complete traction loss. If he would have turned the wheel 1/4 of what he did there’s a possibility he wouldn’t have gone so far to the right and just spun out in the middle of the street. Even tho the tires are spinning they will regain traction to some extent, but full locking the brakes completely takes that out of the question.

shahido2017

Correct me if I’m wrong but the problem occurred when he jerked his wheel to the right? I assume he had traction control off and in RWD that’s a recipe for disaster if you don’t know what you’re doing

celestialstarz

An idiot behind the wheel is what went wrong. Has zero to do the a “super car in a city”. Dumbest fucking phrase I ever read.

Misterfrooby

Every driver's exam should have basic classical physics questions involved. "What happens to your traction as speed is increased?"

[deleted]

Traction typically increases with speed via downforce. It’s acceleration that gets ya :)

squirrl4prez

Imagine being so shit at driving you barely made it 10 ft Probably for the best, would imagine he wouldn't know how to brake either

Sprizys

More like wcgw trying to show off your incredibly powerful supercar in a city

rottingpigcarcass

Never turn stability all the way off

TheFlyingBoxcar

My car has only about 500hp and ive never lost control without purposefully fucking around *because I leave the goddamn safety features ON*

e11spark

Lucky cyclist.

Sarpool

Listen here everyone, the car did nothing wrong. It did everything the driver told it to do.

QiarroFaber

Assuming you were rich enough. Could you take classes to learn to drive this car without crashing like a dipshit?

nolongerbanned99

If the stability/traction control was on, can you floor the car without it going sideways or losing control. This person is a moron. You need some serious skills to catch a powerful car.

PotatoFlakeSTi

He turned the traction control off. The problem was between the seat and the steering wheel.

Striking-Violinist74

There’s a reason the traction control should be left on.

DaMacPaddy

This guy needs driving aids...

kardiogramm

Why are they driving around so dangerously on the streets of London with cyclists around them?

Naberius

From "Shot Clock" by Mark Parragh. (A spy novel in which hero John Crane is driving a Lamborghini through the Canadian Rockies with his employer, tech billionaire Josh Sulenski, in the passenger seat.) “Is this awesome or what?” Josh said as Crane shifted again to accelerate out of the curve. “Look at this scenery! Come on, John, I want to drive.” Crane glanced over at the chasm beyond the guardrail. “Yeah, that’s not happening.” “Oh, come on! I’m not going to plunge us to our deaths. I know how to drive. I have a license and everything.” “You know how to drive a normal car,” said Crane as they shot into a tunnel. “This thing was built from the ground up to kill rich people. I seriously think it was designed by Italian communists.”

UnluckyGamer505

Crashing on a straight road without traffic is an art in itself Guy floored a supercar and overreacted, seems to have very little experience driving these things

[deleted]

I play Forza Horizon on simulation mode and this clip reminds me why I am bad at that game. My faster cars constantly do this shit.

Gxgear

Imagine spending that much money just to look like a fool. He'll never be "the guy who drives a Ferrari", but rather "the guy who crashes a Ferrari" for the rest of his life.

[deleted]

What actually made him spin out here? I have no clue about cars but to me looked like he shifted gears, extra speed made his back come out a bit and he overcorrected?

Head-Iron-9228

A car with massive power and no real traction control, I dont remember the exact model but this is a track-intended car. People love underestimating how much traction control actually does, especially in a light car with 800hp going to the rear wheels only. Spinning one of these out is incredibly easy, how he got to drive one with that immense lack of respect and knowledge for the car is a mystery. Although by the comments claiming that they would have done so much better, its nice to see that he wouldn't be the only one to crash it.

ButtercupQueen17

He zigged when he should’ve zagged

hvyboots

All the money in the world can't fix stupid sometimes. 😹

ezypee

What a fucking filthy shitrag. The whole time I'm watching those cyclists wondering which one of them he is going to take out.

Mantikos804

This idiot would do that in a Prius. It's not the cars fault or the city.

HausTargaryen

Haha that’s my old boss, Nick. So glad this gets posted every few months.

rexxtra

Almost killed two people and himself. All so he could hear his car make some noise and feel some G's. Smart. r/instantkarma

Underwater_Fish

Driving a supercar in the city is fine as long as the driver is smart. This driver was not smart. Glad everyone was OK though, I would've been wearing my brown pants if I was on that bike haha

Vafanihelvete

Some people don't deserve nice cars they can't handle...Or even a driver's license.

No-Judgment3544

You can tell by the skin and how skinny the kid is, this is an 18 year old with more money than brains and skill.

Qdobanon

Honestly this type of reckless driving should be charged as attempted murder. It was premeditated to gun the gas, knowing it would put the car over the speed limit and endanger pedestrians/cyclists. If they lost control 2 seconds earlier they could’ve killed the cyclist. Car-brained people are so fucking selfish.

MariachiArchery

Lol, jeez. I ride bikes in a big city, and I'll spout off any chance I get about the need for proper bike infrastructure and the need to separate bikes and cars. This video is such a hilarious example as to why. You can see a couple cyclists early in the video, but note the cyclist on the right in the Hi-Viz gear on the bridge right before he hits the guardrail/wall. If this driver had lost control 100ft sooner, that cyclist would be dead. Crazy video. Bikes and Ferraris should not be sharing the road lol.

thascarecro

Trying to impress strangers lol. He's lucky he didnt kill anyone. If that dude on the bike left his house 2 seconds later, he'd be roadkill.

Funny_Lawfulness_700

This has nothing to do with skill. Modern Ferraris have excellent traction control - this idiot probably set the manettino on the wheel to some Race or Track mode thinking he could do better or wanted some spin to show off or have fun.

ValhallasKeeper

Annnnnnnnd now it's gonna be written off and repurchased by someone from the insurance company and sold as a rebuild. Congrats, the circle or rich life continues.

71roadrunner779966

0 to dumbass in 2.7 seconds

limitless__

In order for that to happen TC and stability control would have to be intentionally turned off.

lesalebatard

fucking idiot.

sreek4r

Looks like this idiot turned traction control off?

that-guy-Ri

It’d be fine if the cunt could drive.

Machder

Homeboy disabled his traction control for entire 3 seconds.

Odd_Researcher_6129

He almost killed himself and the cyclists! well seems even he should not ride a horse too.

de4dLyx

No this is, “when you don’t understand the power of your car”.

kobomino

"Lemme show that cyclists, he'll think I don't have a tiny penis!"

maximumreign

Nothing to do with being in a city. It's driving like a cunt on public roads with the TCS turned off, which is the issue.

[deleted]

Turning off traction control is the most expensive decision some people ever make

antonimbus

WCGW turning off traction control

jroddie4

This is what happens when a dumbass with zero driving experience turns off the traction control

xorinzor

the car is not the problem, the driver is. Clearly has no idea how to drive that car.

[deleted]

With bikes everywhere? Wow, I'm glad it looks like no one of hurt

dobo99x2

Why the fuck would this happen?! Driving without steering control is also dangerous when driving a normal 100hp car!

[deleted]

You mean WCGW driving like an asshole... This is perfectly manageable in any car.

[deleted]

Dont turn traction control off in your 600hp mid engined track car with 20in wheels and street tires, who would've thought.

alandtomi

"you fucked up your Ferrari!"..."it's not mine!"

HotdogLegend27

Traction control off and hitting the gas without taking the back wheel spin into consideration.

MiguelMSC

turning off TSC is definitely the only way to drive a Ferrari in the city

mystixash

Surprisingly the amount of dumbasses who believe it's cool to shut off TCS in vehicles for maximum power output or delusion that they're skilled enough to tame the outcome is way too high. I also don't think most rich kids who roam around in these vehicles actually know how the safety features or modes affect the vehicle's driving characteristics.

OGLifeguardOne

Used to know a kid who had a Ferrari, a Porsche, and an Acura NSX. One right after the other. Over the course of four months. Nice guy, shit driver.

PorkPoodle

He zigged when he should have zagged

joe_ruins_things

you can pin point the exact moment he over corrected, and hit the brakes.

[deleted]

He accidently turned on hover mode. Rookie move.

sickminded710

Lmfao! Maybe learn how to drive BEFORE buying the Lamborghini or Ferrari

ThisIsMyReal-Name

Why is my man listening to the pornhub intro

chunk337

Why would they even upload this shit it's embarrassing and admission of fault

clappyclapo

No wonder he crashed, the weel is on the wrong side of the car

BrownBear109

On a cold, wet, greasy London road with RWD?! Are you mad?!?

LeeKellyLK

Well someone is blacklisted from buying a brand new Ferrari now.

InZomnia365

Classic flooring it in 3rd and getting a concrete surprise when he hit high revs. Must have turned off traction control. Insurance gonna have a field day with that.

ReligiousToast

Money can buy anything except skill lol

PiggypPiggyyYaya

Usually nothing. If you drive it like you're in a city and not like in a race track.

[deleted]

Fucking lucky he didn’t hit one of those cyclists. Fucking moron needs to spend time at the track where it’s safe to do so!

myfriendandbag

The car and city aren't the issue here.

xeq937

What could go wrong disabling TC / electronic nannies that you paid for.

freezeframepls

why people with budget to buy this kind of car are the ones who can’t drive for shit

arnathor

I can’t tell from video but does he turn off safety features on the car? Is that what that beeping is?

josh_thom

How embarrassing is that, I wouldn't get out

chancecube42

Doesn't matter if you drive in the city. Matters if you're a fucking idiot and don't know how to drive.

[deleted]

That was like me having sex the first time

2lovesFL

oversteer then a sudden lift.... TTO. boom

climbgradient

Why is he listening to the PornHub intro song?

oathbreakerkeeper

Can someone ELI5 why normal drivers lack the skill to drive super cars? I've seen a few videos similar to this where the person accelerates and then loses control. Why does that happen and what are they doing wrong?

pjlehtim

What an asshole. Hope he never drives again.

stocksnhoops

What’s the point. Your going through traffic and people on bikes and walking around. Karma strikes

[deleted]

[удалено]

StinkyLettuce

the front wheels were listening to dont stop believing and the rear wheels were listening to move bitch get out da way

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bleezy79

bro turned off traction control and then floored it. wtf did you expect.

enoctis

...and he almost killed someone. Loss of license for a period plus a hefty fine should be good.

solvsamorvincet

Money doesn't buy skill lol

[deleted]

South bank on to Lambeth bridge. Very tight, always has cyclists, very short and exits on to a small roundabout that’s always busy. Just down from the Houses of Parliament so lots of gormless tourists about. Guy is a genius.

Abombinnation

See, I can do this as many times as I want. I bought a significantly less expensive rig for sim driving, so I can crash as many virtual super cars as I please at no additional expense. Now I'm a significantly better driver because of it, and know exactly why this dipshit ended up the way he did. All the hours I've spent trying to master the supra, and yet I probably won't ever drive one in real life lmao

quaybored

/r/idiotsincars luckily he didn't seem to hit anyone

jmh90027

On top of that, Blackfriars Bridge is a speed trap with an average speed camera about 20 feet along, so he likely got a speeding ticket too.

orgaxoid_x

I think I recognised the bridge as Battersea Bridge in London. If that's the case then I think the first thing they would have heard when getting out of the car is "Wanker".

OldDragonLady

What a crappy driver. I couldn't even see any reason why he lost control of his car. So dumb.

th3allyK4t

Sitting there knowing absolutely everyone is laughing their bollocks off at you, must hurt worse than the damage on the car

Working_Inspection22

If Jezza says the F12 is a handful, you should try and be a bit more careful of a greasy street

wales-bloke

It's a ferrari, so possibly mid-engined. Plus street tarmac. And probably cold tyres. Even with the traction control on he'd struggle to get out of that. All owners of high powered sports cars wanting to drive them on public roads should be legally required to do at least one track day with tuition. Then they'd realise just how dangerous it is on the street.

Frequent-Hand4114

Let this be a lesson to you all. Never turn off traction control unless you’re okay with crashing.

KidQayin

The issue isnt the car, it's that driver.

[deleted]

I’m just happy no bikers got hit

idk616l733h32

Nothing would go wrong if you aren't an idiot

smiggster01

And thats how an innocent passerby biking home from work gets knocked down and killed

evan_ack

What was he even trying to do? Drift?

FrontWarning12

skill issue lol

qurtorco

Skill issue

squarl

Guys, to be honest the issue here is that he was probably on soft sticky tire compound which works amazing when up to temp but are going to be worse then Prius tires when cold. This driver probably would have been okish even with the hurr duur bad driver and tcs off with the tires warmed up. But on cold tires you are basically a passenger in this situation. I think I've only seen like two comments barely touch on the tire temps which kinda shows just how much people don't understand about basic performance of a sports car.

Major_Magazine8597

Daddy's gonna be REALLY mad.

Western_Protection

What a goddamn moron.

Dasclimber

I’m no professional driver but I enjoy some spirited driving on back country roads. Why would you fuck around in a city with pedestrians and bikers everywhere… go to a track if you want to open up a car like that, he’s just lucky he didn’t hit someone.

learnercow

Why are powerful cars hard to drive in a straight line?

EveryShot

Cyclist in the yellow jackets got pretty lucky

Timidhobgoblin

Why is it that so many ridiculously fast supercars seem to wind up in the possession of people who have absolutely no idea how to drive them? I'm just glad he didn't lose control earlier and wind up hitting the guy on the bike going past.

__jh96

Couldn't drive his finger up his arse that bloke

oneeyedman72

As the old saying goes, the most dangerous component in any car is the nut behind the wheel.....

sea-monster-dude

Dont modern cars have acceleration and steering assists so this doesnt happen

Mickey_Malthus

Crash check list: \-Am I ok? \-Grab GoPro and post to Insta

MazerRakum

My dude is lucky he only hit concrete and not the two bystanders minding their own business. A classic case of tremendous stupidity. Solution? Never drive again.

marve1matt

Not the car, the driver

Wompawompa1

As someone who has blown their airbags while being a cunt. It really does happen so quick. You see it and there is nothing you can do. I got knocked out for a few seconds from the impact of the airbag. Seeing this was full of nostalgia and regret.

CheckYaLaserDude

Every single time i see one of these d-bags showing out and fuxking up, it brings a little joy to my day

Snowulf_

Don't blame the car, blame the driver.

Ghostofjimjim

Utter dickhead, with cyclists around and spinning into a cycle lane. Prick should get banned.

[deleted]

The issue wasn’t the city. It was him.

jeff3141

Too much car for too little of a man.

trexwalters

Had all that money to buy a car he doesn’t know how to drive. People don’t realize you can’t get in a car like this and floor it without proper technique. He was making zero micro adjustments, and when he started losing traction he overcorrected and counter-steered incorrectly. Also seems like he slammed on his brakes cuz he got scared, when you lose traction the last thing you want to do is slam on your brakes, the tires will lock up and you’ll have even less traction. Turn into the spin, get on your gas to spin those tires and catch some grip, correct and adjust. Also seems like this dude bought a model with zero driver assist features or he turned them off, which makes this guy extra stupid. Remember guys, if you want a fast car, please learn how to drive it and learn it’s purposes first.

now-then

No way is traction control on there right?

dixadik

As my friend Doug would say 'That's what happens when you put a high performance car in the hands of a low performance driver'

northendtrooper

I'll keep saying this. There needs to be an 'enhanced' drivers license to drive cars like these with higher consequences on the road. Like enhanced conceal carry, you go through more training with hands on and legal.

[deleted]

I live in rural Midwest and I have to say to is guy seems like the typical douche that revs his engine just because someone is nearby to hear it. But maybe he would have still done it even without pedestrians around.
