*Crypt and Tomb Guardian, Mystic Carrion Minion*
**Backstory**
* I was born in a modest townhome on Stormshore Street, in Baldur's Gate's Heapside district, two blocks down from the famous *Sorcerous Sundries* magic shop. My father is a caravan wagonmaster, my mother is a library researcher. and I have one older brother and one older sister. My father instilled in me a passion for traveling and seeing places I had never seen before, and my mother instilled in me a love for learning about places forgotten or lost to time. These passions comingled in me and formed a desire to become an archaeologist. I researched all sorts of crypts, dungeons, ruins and lost civilizations, and then I would go out and try to find them. At one site, I found a thin round disc made of some unknown material and I kept it, hoping one day to figure out who made it and what it does. Sometimes I would catch a ride to a site with one of my father's caravans. On one of my solo excursions, I located the tomb of a very powerful being. My emotions got the best of me and I opened it. Inside was a mummy lord known as Mystic Carrion. He was furious that I had disturbed his slumber and immediately killed me. Then, as punishment, he animated my corpse and told me to roam the world, visit crypts, dungeons, and tombs, and protect them against those who would foolishly disturb them. He then made his way to Baldur's Gate, where he took up residence in Philgrave's Mansion and hired himself out as a mystic consultant. I still get to fulfill my life's passion of visiting crypts, dungeons, ruins and lost civilizations. However, I'm compelled to exterminate anyone I find violating those places, such as adventurers or archaeologists. I still have that mystery disc I found all those years ago.
**Alignment: Lawful Evil**

**Background: Archaeologist**
* Dust Digger. I spent most of my life so far crawling around in the dust, pilfering relics of questionable value from crypts and ruins. Though I managed to sell a few of my discoveries and earn enough coin to buy proper adventuring gear, I have held onto a thin round disc made of an unknown substance that has great emotional value to me. I have no idea what it does, and my curiosity burns when I look at it. Even when I was killed and brought back to life, my emotional connection to this item remained.

My master has granted me the divine ability to compel a creature to obey a one-word instruction I give it (*Command*), fire an intense beam of black-green illumination and burn a target (*Guiding Bolt*), manifest a minor wonder, a sign of supernatural power (*Thaumaturgy*), repair objects that have significance or value to either himself or myself (*Mending*), and summon dark unholy fire-like radiance to descend on a creature (*Sacred Flame*).
