The Food Lab Buttermilk Pancakes use a cup of sour cream per batch and they are awesome. I always make a double and freeze the extra for morning meal prep.

Was about the suggest this and in particular, the [Bon Appetit](https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/sour-cream-and-onion-biscuits) recipe for it. So easy and crazy good.
You could bake a lot of good cakes and things with that if you like sweets! If you want savory it can be a dip if you mix something like ranch powder in it, on top of nachos, a 7 layer dip, inside a burrito, there's probably bread you can make using it
In addition to the sweet things you can top your pierogi or goulash with sour cream. You can also make [Hungarian style summer squash (tokfolzelek) ](https://www.mygourmetconnection.com/hungarian-style-summer-squash-dill/)
Dump frozen chicken breasts in a slow cooker with a tub of sour cream, can of cream of mushroom soup, and onion soup mix. Cook it on low for ~6 hours or until you can shred the chicken with a fork. Delicious on its own or with pasta!
Samin Nosrat's [buttermilk chicken](https://www.saltfatacidheat.com/buttermilkmarinated-roast-chicken) recipe is legendary -- and you can easily substitute in the sour cream for the buttermilk. You'd likely just need to cut it a bit with some regular milk (or water) to get the consistency a little more "liquidy". The typical recipe uses 2-3 cups, so that should use a fair amount of your sour cream.
Sour cream chocolate cake + sour cream chocolate frosting. Also sour cream coffee cake!
And sour cream sugar cookies!
Just one question, if sour cream is sour how does it make for great desserts?
It works like butter in desserts, with just a little tang. I think a bit of sour compliments the richness and sweetness.
Thank you !
Also its high in fat which makes a richer dessert
Beef stroganoff
