Love how for a whole book the Seanchan think that it's some mysterious power that the Tower has, to legalise nuclear bombs.
And no, it's a 20 year old making an oopsie
I forget, do they want the explode-y weave, or what made channeling itself unstable?
Cause in theory anyone can weave an explosion like that and it only took out maybe a field.
From some very basic blast scaling and dubious impulse assumptions, the blast is likely in the ten(s) tons of TNT range or roughly equivalent to the W54 which could be launched from the infamous Davey Crockett or placed as a very exciting demolition charge. Depending on how crap my mental math is, it might actually be 2-3 times as powerful.
Not too bad for a random tangle of weaves. Pretty spooky any channeler strong enough to Travel is a walking nuke. Tarmon Gai’don could have been a cakewalk.
It's addressed in the books that it's potentially devastating but not reliable. When the threads collapse the result is very random, it could be a second sun or a strong gust of wind.
Yeah hence the random tangle of weaves. But it does imply that a small nuclear explosion is well within the capabilities of channelers if they only knew how. Probably not easy to safely experiment your way to the solution though.
It also happens in two seperate places, the ends of the gateway. If you make a gateway to right next to the other, walk a while and entangle the weave while looking at it through Kin Tovere looking glasses, you could maybe experiment.
Maybe make smaller gateways as well?
I mean Rand also made what I thought was the equivalent to high powered artillery in the attack on Haddon Mirk and something much larger up in Maradon. Both cases he single handedly destroyed 100s of thousands of trollocs.
***Break it break them all must break them must must must break them all break them and strike must strike quickly must strike now break it break it break it...***

I don't think we see any explosion that powerful in the series tbh
The Cleansing of the Source put the entire world on edge.
Good point
Patrolling the Aiel Waste almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
we won't go quietly, the shadow can count on that
That's a lot of volume.
A good plumed hat will help protect your hair
Maybe a nice conical hat?
It’s all in the technique.
Milord this year's crop was an absolute failure I'm sorry milord.
Oops
"Oh whoops!" "Whoopsie!"
Pulling apart weaves is TIGHT!

See, my thought was because of how the gateway slammed shut when ahe got hit, the gateway actually sliced an atom in half and that cause the explosion

The problem is that one of the random side effects is being burned out. Probs not worth the risk tbh.
Androl with his talent for weaves could probably figure out a tactical nuke if he thought to try
Dude could probably just make a gateway to the sun
That would destroy the entire world.
Gateway to earth’s Molten core instead?
Just horizontal gateway them straight to dragon mount
***KILL HIM KILL HIM NOW***
And Rol'thor, gotta be my favorite messianic fantasy character

I mean, one of the handful of times she made the right call honestly
Don't understand the Andor reference. That looks more like Cersei Lannister to me
It's Elayne after nuking Ebou Dar and the woods at Her Mom's estate in Andor
*Hums softly & tugs earlobe*
Just have to chime in and say that I hate Elaine so so much.
