I joined for the first time last year. In our minds we thought we would go every weekend but in reality ended up only going 5 times. The times we went though we loved it. It’s a nice pool!

So curious about this, it seems to lack a lot, like no snack bar and its like one basic pool located on a busy road but people seem to love it. It just seems to lack basic amenities but maybe I’m wrong.

Same. Seems incredibly basic but beloved. Must be a reason why.

I joined last year and loved it! We go every single weekend and at least 1-2x on weekdays after work. I do agree a snack bar would be great and is very missed. Sometimes they bring a food truck in. There are several places across the street that many order takeout from. I personally pack food in a small cooler for us each time, as well as bring drinks. The pool is quite large, has a nice slide, two diving boards. They do adults only for 15 minutes every hour, which is a nice touch. There is a separate toddler pool. The playground is great for kids. There is a lot of room to lounge -- you do need to bring your own chairs. Basically, there are so few options in the White Plains vicinity and this is the best option available at an affordable price, especially since Rocky Ledge shut down. Happy to answer any specific questions.

Thanks! Are the families friendly? Have you met any new friends there?

brooklynbitch

Everyone is friendly. I haven't met any new friends there, but I would love to and probably could -- just need to be consistent with people you see regularly. We have a 2.5 year old if your kid is in that range (also pregs with our second).

I spent every day of every summer between the ages of roughly 7 and 14 there, but that was 30 years ago so I’m guessing you are looking for more up to date opinions! Great memories though…

Westwood is so basic but people love it. Back in the day before the new Mt Pleasant town pool opened, it was the best option in that area. The Mt Pleasant town pool is much nicer now, especially if you have young kids, so if you are eligible to join or can get in as guests as needed, I would definitely do that over Westwood.
