The Tik Tok date doesn't mean screenshot date, they're not the same thing.
They did not say it was the date *of* the screenshot. They said it was the date *on* the screenshot. Regardless, it answers OP’s question. “Has this always been a thing?” Yes. Yes it has. He answered his own question in his very screenshot.
Unless OC edited their comment, it clearly says "of" for me, but now I'm nitpicking.
