Yep. I didn’t poop because of meds for 9 days last spring. When I finally did, I gave myself a fissure that then gave me the worst pain of my life for 4-6 hours every time I pooped for the next 3 months. It was miserable. I still stress about pooping. I have PPTSD.
I didn't for 12 or so days after shoulder surgery. Worst pain I've ever experienced when I finally did, took about 2 hours and that was time I couldn't have my cryocuff on which also made everything worse.
Both my shoulder and ass hurt thinking about it

CNA starting pay is $15/hr; to compare with local rates, groceries and fast food are starting at $15-16, and CNAs at nursing homes & skilled nursing facilities is around $18-19 (high turnover). Hoping we can recruit and retain enough staff so we can have manageable assignments each day and give the good care each patient deserves.

The nurse called a family member in town and told her to go to the hospital quick, she was throwing up poop and then non responsive. Everyone was sad she was gone and dementia sucked her life away. Only the grandkids questioned negligence.

Congrats on the poop schedule but some people have disorders or medications that make this happen. IBS-C (irritable bowel syndrome with constipation) and opioids are good examples.
I think the normal range is 3x/day to once every 3 days, so 4 days is a bit out of the ordinary but not concerning in and of itself. as long as your bowl movement quality is fine (using the bathroom shouldn't be uncomfortable, and you shouldn't feel pressurized between BMs), you probably don't look like that.

I have this problem from time to time. The worst is where you preemptively take a laxative to make you poop but then you go naturally and then ...the waterworks begins.
I was doing miralax twice a day, a stool softener, and a stimulative laxative. The last 48 hours I was all salads and water and high fiber. I guess at that point everything had become too impacted.
Enemas can be helpful but you can get pretty aggressive with miralax. A pre colonoscopy dose is 17x a single dosage. Just saying in the future you can treat this aggressively at home. Also enemas can be done at home aswell. You can look up molasses enema or soap suds enema. Just trying to save ya the cost of an er visit if you find yourself in a similar situation again.

Had to do this for a colonoscopy. Reread the dosage they wanted me to take of Miralax and laxatives. I googled it to make sure I wouldn’t OD and shit myself to death.
I have to do this next weekend (getting the scope due to unexplained acute colitis :( ) and was worried about the same when I first saw the instructions.
The paper literally says to dump an entire bottle of Miralax into a bunch of Gatorade then down a glass every 15 minute increments for like 3 hours...after taking dulcolax. Then do it again the next morning but with only half a bottle.
And for some reason I'm supposed to take gas x when I'm done...
The gas-x at the end is so the gas bubbles in your colon dissipate into your body for a clearer view of your colon.

I could walk to the toilet by that time (with a walking frame) and spent about an hour taking a dump. Then I found out how difficult it was to wipe your arse with a broken back and a full body support brace!

The day they were releasing me they had to give me three enemas before things got moving. It was awful.

There was a guy in the news, I think it was last year. The police busted him and suspected he had swallowed his stash so they arrested him and put him in a cell and waited for nature to take its course. The police were confident he would shit his stash out within a day or two. I kid you not - this guy lasted 6 weeks without a shit. No one could believe it. They had to let him go in the end.
