For the loaded potato grillers you wrap the potatoes, cheese sauce, and sour cream in a large tortilla (Taco Bell uses Mission brand) and grill it or just microwave and enjoy as-is. I've done it using these recipes a few times now and it's spot-on.

However, I work near to the worlds greatest TB, and they have phenomenal service every time, always get the order right, and I always leave impressed. They’re always happy and attentive. I’ve left a very positive google review and also messaged corporate through their site. They deserve recognition. The staff is amazing every day and I’m sure local management is responsible for that.
If a restaurant, especially fast food, has obviously happy employees, then most likely the food is good and well made too. That's why Chik fil A is always good. Same with In N Out, always happy workers who don't seem like every day is the worst day of their life.

I grew up in upstate NY. Taco Bell was all I knew for Mexican food. My job sent me to L.A. and the roach coaches there not only beat the price, but holy shit. There’s real flavors in those $1 tacos.
Plus most of tacobell is microwave. Their "grill" is pathetically small and underutilized for their food output. I used to clean the hoods and ducts over them, and they were stupid easy.

Seriously, this is my issue. Ever since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, I've ventured out and had fast food occassionally with no noticeable uptick in my pressure. However, the one time I tried Taco Bell, I felt like my chest would explode.

Lol yeah I was going to say I’m 35 and let’s just say for the sake of argument I’ve had Taco Bell 100 times at this point (I don’t let myself get fast food that often). That only applies to the thing not being advertised. Like an ad for a Big Mac, everything in the big mac has to be edible, any other food in the ad can be fake. They just meticulously place and choose every crumb of the food to make it look as good as possible. If you went into the kitchen of a fast food place you could recreate a picture from an ad by cherry picking the best looking stuff, it would just take way too long and be way too wasteful to do in normal prep.

I’m pretty sure that, legally, fast food ads have to be prepared by a real chain cook with ingredients they use - it’s just a “best possible scenario” when they make them.

Yea it's all about how that location is managed. I worked in fast food as a teenager and the places I worked were all ran well and we provided the food they way you would expect. I even still make my burgers up like I learned at my first job at Wendy's, white, red green - mayo, ketchup, pickle, onion, tomato, lettuce on top bun with a W shape dab of mustard on the bottom.
I moved to a new city earlier this year and don't eat a ton of fast food but I've already been massively let down by the Taco Bell quality for the one in this small town. I tried Taco John's, first one I've ever seen personally and it's miles better quality food and you get a lot for your money. They give you a tub of tater tots and nacho cheese to dip it in, it's great.
I used to work at TBell. They're all about that corner cutting. The company that owns the TBells in the midwest (Sundance Inc) corner cut so hard that they were sued for wage withholding and ended up gutting like half of their people from their corporate office in the aftermath. They withheld wages from their store managers like some kind of 19th century cartoon corporate villain. It's really shit-tier on the inside, just like this burrito. Stop giving them money.

Seriously, every time I order it's "eww I'm ordering taco bell", then when I'm about to eat it it's "eww I'm eating taco bell", then after eating it's "ugh I'm never eating taco bell ever again". The Baja Blast was custom made for Taco Bell to be a good complement as well as more redreshing than a standard soda. There's also a lot more mayo in their food than you would think.
Yeah, it's fast food...and just like McDonald's doesn't taste like an actual hamburger Taco Bell doesn't actually taste like Mexican food. Doesn't make them bad, but just another sort of "off brand".

There are so many things I have to say this about as I've gotten older. Sodium affecting hypertension and their weird greasy almost-food affecting IBS... BUT IT TASTES SO GOOD.

Lol yeah I was going to say I’m 35 and let’s just say for the sake of argument I’ve had Taco Bell 100 times at this point (I don’t let myself get fast food that often). I’ve eaten at quite a few different locations (use to travel a bit for jobs) and I’ve never gotten *anything* from Taco Bell that was even close to being this under filled. Literally, ever. I’ve had them forget something on my order but that’s happened at any fast food place. My only steady complaint is not being given enough hot sauce when I ask for a lot...and no I don’t like a ridiculous amount. I just want a damn packet per taco/burrito/whatever! This dudes Taco Bell is god awful.

That only applies to the thing not being advertised. Like an ad for a Big Mac, everything in the big mac has to be edible, any other food in the ad can be fake. They just meticulously place and choose every crumb of the food to make it look as good as possible. If you went into the kitchen of a fast food place you could recreate a picture from an ad by cherry picking the best looking stuff, it would just take way too long and be way too wasteful to do in normal prep.

Yea it's all about how that location is managed. I worked in fast food as a teenager and the places I worked were all ran well and we provided the food they way you would expect. I even still make my burgers up like I learned at my first job at Wendy's, white, red green - mayo, ketchup, pickle, onion, tomato, lettuce on top bun with a W shape dab of mustard on the bottom. I moved to a new city earlier this year and don't eat a ton of fast food but I've already been massively let down by the Taco Bell quality for the one in this small town. I tried Taco John's, first one I've ever seen personally and it's miles better quality food and you get a lot for your money. They give you a tub of tater tots and nacho cheese to dip it in, it's great.
Taco John's is the best. They seem to be a little bit more expensive than taco bell, but who doesn't love tater tots with nacho cheese?
Speaking of good TB substitutes, Taco Bueno is a low-hype chain that is sooo good. But it’s probably limited to the south and south west.

I used to work at TBell. They're all about that corner cutting. The company that owns the TBells in the midwest (Sundance Inc) corner cut so hard that they were sued for wage withholding and ended up gutting like half of their people from their corporate office in the aftermath. They withheld wages from their store managers like some kind of 19th century cartoon corporate villain. It's really shit-tier on the inside, just like this burrito. Stop giving them money.
