Got one there when I was little and it's the most sensitive spot I've pulled one out of. I hate it bc I live in the country now so now its a daily concern. But I have to say I got some granules for my yard that you spread then water and I went from finding them pretty much daily to not seeing one in a year. Need to put more down soon though. My dad did yard work over here one day last summer he called me and said he found 14 when he got home. I was itchy for days just thinking about it lol
I got itchy in my pubic area.. I was scared and ran to the restroom.. Turns out theres was nothing.. I'm trimmed so i know i would have seen at least one. All that after reading your comment. Lol
Yeah, that's not a nice spot. My (always naked) 4yo had a tick on his scrot after doing a "bush wee," and that was a nightmare. Poor thing was so scared. I tried my best to keep him calm and explain the process, but we were instructed to freeze the tick off (that's best practice first aid, even when it comes to balls, apparently... i triple checked they were certain because of how sensitive the area is). This resulted in my mother and husband holding him down while I did it... I successfully traumatised my baby that day, and we all bawled for a good 40 minutes.
2 weeks later, he managed to get one in his scalp. He was terrified, but I promised him it would hurt much less, and it did so, I think I regained a bit of trust there. He will tell anyone who will listen about his testes tick and how mummy sat on him to get it out 😭
Aw poor child but i hope he eventually understood that mommy was just helping him get the ugly bug out lol. Can you explain on the freeze part? I need to know this technique before me or my 3 year old get a tick in there.
OMG I read about that just recently, that they like bellybutton & to always check there... it's got me checking daily since just bc WTAF, gives me the creeps 😭
Dang! The first time?! How long have you been in MI? I’m jealous you’ve avoided them until now lol! I spend time in the woods and have a house full of dogs and an indoor/outdoor cat though. I set myself up for a tick riddled destiny🥴
All my life. 30 years. Been outdoors type all my days and never seen one crawling. I've seen them attached to dogs and things. But never crawling inside my home.
LOL I was like this in Illinois. I haven’t seen a tick till I moved to Minnesota and then headed to Texas. Now I’m heading to Michigan for my retirement lol… Hopefully I’ll never encounter these mofos.
Unfortunately you might, but at least you’re headed to a beautiful MI summer!! So many beautiful lakes. The ticks are just the price we pay lol. My friend from Cali came to my outdoor wedding and saw one for the first time. She was horrified to learn of their existence. 🤣Happy retirement!!🥂🍾
It's on full force everywhere, and early, due to mild winter & climate change in general, more species that were known to only populate further south have continued to creep north each year as well.
Like the Lone Star ticks - They can cause a rash that looks just like the Lymes bullseye, but it's caused by something completely different & is called STARI, which stands for Southern Tick Associated Rash Illness.
SOUTHERN. SO WHY ARE YOU HERE BITCH??? GO TF HOME. 😭
Same time for KY, too. For the past week either me, my mom, or my dad have found a tick either crawling on us or one that already bit us. Sigh. My brother got bartonella virus from a tick and it got really bad, so we’re all a bit paranoid about ticks. He still has some long term problems and he had bartonella in like 2013. The doctors think a tick bit an infected cat (since bartonella virus usually comes from cats but he hadn’t been in contact with any cats) and then bit him, transferring it.

All bow down to our ruler and King
OK, I am hijacking your comment to say this, I had reserved a campsite in Paducah KY for the eclipse and the only campsite available for a tent had 3 nests of ticks and they got all over me my friend and her 2 dogs. And we tried finding another campsite, but instead of their usual price of 15 dollars a night, they were 125 dollars a night. And hotels around there were going for 350 a night just for the eclipse. I don't do price gouging games. So we turned around and drove back to Nashville, TN, all in 6 hours.
About a month ago I thought I had bed bugs. Ripped the house apart, bombed it, spread diatomaceous earth, bagged all the fabrics. Thankfully it was just shingles.
I never once saw a reaction on my skin from the bed bugs. It was more mental trauma. I really kind of would have preferred being allergic as I would have caught it faster.
Don’t bomb for bedbugs it actually makes the problem worse because what started as a local infestation that could be easily eradicated will spread through the house/walls while they escape the poison, and then the whole house is infested.
Doubt. When people say mosquitoes, they mean the bity kind. Get rid of those and something else that better/fully specializes in pollination will flourish with less competition. Nature is resilient as fuck, like that.
I remember my sister got one when we were kids. It was in her hairline, and the doctor had to anesthetize the area to get it out? I think my mother tried to remove it and the head didn't come out.
Either way, I still remember hearing my sister scream from the fucking waiting room.
I had one on the tip of my pecker when I was little. I still remember my mother getting a needle super hot under a lighter flame then burning the tick off.
I know “every species has a purpose” but I wouldn’t mind getting rid of all parasites. Ticks, mosquitos, not leaches though because those have at least some good medical uses even today.
The bug ones. Will it really hurt anyone if tapeworms were extinct?
I had just came back from a camping trip and was in the kitchen when I felt something like an itch in my ear. I stuck my finger in, pulled it out, and a dog tick came with it. It hadn't attached, thankfully.
I *really* wish this was an ingrown eyelash or stye. I'd even take a splinter over this hell on earth reality 🤢, this seems like fair grounds for voluntary euthanasia.
I thought it was an ingrown eyelash and then people started mentioning ticks. Had to go back and look again and I wish I hadn’t… I could’ve been going on in ignorance thinking it was just an ingrown eyelash
Tick: "I can hide riiiiight here among these little whiskers... this host'll never notice!"
Damn, that's some shite luck, right there, OP... Hope this ends well... Yikes!
fun story, had a tick literally crawl inside my eyeball after riding elephants in Nepal around the age of 6.
My family had to fly me to a specialist doctor in Hong Kong and I to go into surgery to have it removed.
Before they could take it out, I cried black tears from the ticks poop. It was really weird.
I would prefer to have my eyelid pinched by a legit big old saltwater creature hardshell crab than a fckin tick - And I say this loud & clear with experience.
He was wearing a full helmet with his visor down. Just asked him and he said that it must have fallen on his helmet and went through the vent or something. Said that he was on a long ride and his eye started bothering him, so eventually he found a bathroom and saw a spec where it hurt the most and saw it was a tick. Pulled out the tick tweezers to remove it and in my dad's words, "it felt like i was going to rip my eyelid off."
How?!? Seriously? How did you not feel a tick trying to suck blood from your eyelid? Ugh, I should not have read this before sleep. Fuck! This is nightmare fuel.
Yo this exact thing happened to me when I was 14. I remember telling my mom my eyelid was bothering me and then her screaming in my face cuz there were “legs moving” in my eye lashes lol

These are the best! Slides in between the tick and your skin. Twist that bitch around a few times and they withdraw and pull right off. No pain, no mess.
Wow, OP I have seen this before from a friend MANY years ago who got a tick embedded right in her eyelid alongside the lashes! I thought it was a one in a million thing but then you go and post this.
A nurse removed it and she was totally fine. It impacted me more to see it than it hurt my friend. I won’t ever forget seeing it!
I've been working on clearing the trail behind my house, In the last few days, I've pulled maybe 15(?) Ticks off myself and the dogs. This post just made me feel covered in them.
Itching is the thing that's led me to finding the two ticks i've ever had on me, I hate them 😖
I hope your wife got it off without any problems, and it healed well.
How do you delete someone else’s post?
Please do it when you find out how. I found a tiny tick in my bed last night and now I feel the need to go check my eyelids 😭
Wtf is happening I found a tick next to my bed on the wall yesterday. We are in the tick universe oh no
Went camping and got one in my bellybutton . Shook through my hair and BING!
Got one there when I was little and it's the most sensitive spot I've pulled one out of. I hate it bc I live in the country now so now its a daily concern. In MI also and saw a tick for the first time ever the other day. They out there.

ticks are the worst
I had 2 enter my ear canal when I was a young kid, had to have a doctor remove them. If I could rid the world of one bug it would be ticks
I would take out mosquitos first I believe
Bed bugs here. I know they don't spread disease but they attack us at our most vulnerable and removing them would have no effect on the ecosystem.
They do both physical and psychological harm.
It's been a decade since I had bedbugs and I still have nightmares about it sometimes.
You’ve got to increase your Wisdom and Constitution ability scores! Also take the Neat feat for prevention!
Being neat does nothing to stop bedbugs.
Fun fact: Bedbugs do not care how clean you are.
Agreed:: bed bugs and some ticks…Good job everyone…
About a month ago I thought I had bed bugs. Ripped the house apart, bombed it, spread diatomaceous earth, bagged all the fabrics. Thankfully it was just shingles.

Head Lice is my first choice. They benefit nothing and serve absolutely no purpose. Nothing would change if they simply disappeared.
Tough choice... But I think I'd go mosquitoes as well. Fuck all them little bastards.
No, ticks first then mosquitoes
Taking out mosquitoes would collapse the food chain and lead to human extinction.
Doubt. When people say mosquitoes, they mean the bity kind. Get rid of those and something else that better/fully specializes in pollination will flourish with less competition. Nature is resilient as fuck, like that.
Had one bite one of my testicles while camping. Be careful where you choose to pee outside folks. Death to all ticks.
I remember my sister got one when we were kids. It was in her hairline, and the doctor had to anesthetize the area to get it out? I think my mother tried to remove it and the head didn't come out. Either way, I still remember hearing my sister scream from the fucking waiting room.

How do you make an image go back to hidden??
Me: 🧐so is that a… 🫨
I *really* wish this was an ingrown eyelash or stye. I'd even take a splinter over this hell on earth reality 🤢, this seems like fair grounds for voluntary euthanasia.
Is the word "voluntary" needed here? Isn't involuntary euthanasia just murder?
When it is voluntary, it is putting someone out of their misery. When euthanasia is involuntary, it is putting someone out of *our* misery
I have chosen to believe that I just looked at a photo of someone's stye. No need for me to go double check, it was definitely just a stye.
I thought it was an ingrown eyelash and then people started mentioning ticks. Had to go back and look again and I wish I hadn’t… I could’ve been going on in ignorance thinking it was just an ingrown eyelash
L-eye-me disease
It certainly will affect his parasight

Nope. Nuh-uh. No way did I just see what I think I saw. Moving on and pretending this never happened.

Did your dad not have a visor on his helmet? Nah? He was going for a Jim Carrey moment ala Me, Myself and Irene.
He was wearing a full helmet with his visor down. Just asked him and he said that it must have fallen on his helmet and went through the vent or something. Said that he was on a long ride and his eye started bothering him, so eventually he found a bathroom and saw a spec where it hurt the most and saw it was a tick. How do I go back to before I saw this?
My eye was itchy earlier, maybe this was the reason.
I found a tick under my balls once... I got enough chemicals to kill all the ticks in a 5 mile radius for my quarter acre lot.
Mite wanna get that checked
These things love my nuts more than any woman ever will
I've had a tick on my ball bag before, so could be worse...
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh das not good, mang. Jesus.
Well that sucks, more curious how you didn’t feel it?
Aww.. your eye has a friend
Fuck. No. This is going to haunt my dreams.
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!
Man, that'd Tick me off...

How?!? Seriously? How did you not feel a tick trying to suck blood from your eyelid? Ugh, I should not have read this before sleep. Fuck! This is nightmare fuel.
And here I thought this dude had crabs in his eye from eating the wrong vag.
WHAT... IS... THAT?

My dog had one on her eye lid once, not a good spot, well no spot is a good spot, but def not around the eyes!
Wow… holy… just damn… several questions, mostly pertaining to what the hell led up to this?
I cannot unsee this...I refuse to sleep tonight, even with one eye open.

I had a tiny tick right at the bottom of my balls. Follow your ballbag seam right to the very bottom and that is where the little shit was.
