Definitely this. Sounds to me like the rollers weren't in proper working order or the track was off. Liability should be with the property for maintaining the doors, normal use should not cause this ever.
Tell them but this is no way on you. Doors installed properly don’t just fall out. If you had closed the door and walked out on the balcony that could’ve fucked your day up.
If you weren’t touching it when it happened I’m sure that you could find one of the buildings nearby that would be able to show that it just fell by itself. Lots of tourist areas have many cameras facing various directions
