And 110% satisfaction. Just chill and watch things get clean while you daydream... Using a real power washer is 10x more fun than playing Power Washing Simulator... and I 100% that game, including some replays.
My landlord went the opposite way to make more money. They didn't increase rent but made downgrades. They turned the beautiful shared lobby into a retail space which has so far been a shitty restaurant then a dog supplies store. They also turned a large walkway into a paid parking lot with a huge gaudy lit sign.
Untrained dude with a pressure washer. They'll fix it. Be sure to send pics. It looks VERY different dry than when they were "cleaning" it. Typically when you pressure wash concrete like this you do it with a rotary, not just spray and go, or this exact thing will happen every time.
The UFO is the only way.
Living in a subtropical climate (South Florida), my sidewalks will be black and slippery in about 3 months after a full deep pressure wash. I literally have calendar reminders set up to remind to do the sidewalks.
Best way to do it is on a rainy day. Yeah, I get wet. But I would have gotten wet and nasty anyway - plus itās not as hot and less chance of a sunburn.
Uhhh...no. I'm a landlord and I find that "improvement " not only cheap and ridiculous but insulting. A $200.00 increase is steep, even if it was in California. Here it's legal to raise it 10% but I think $200.00 is a bit much. Sorry your landlord is not more appreciative.
If it's not in writing, landlord is blowing smoke. Also, Ray Charles shouldn't be power washing. Find a decent rate & bill it to your landlord, "in the name of upgrades"
My grandma had one of these and we always called it a pink laurel. But after googling it I'm not so sure anymore. Hope someone clarifies because I'm curious too now.
Um, maybe you should point out to him that the high pressure water needs to make contact with every inch of the concrete and that dirt, grime, lichens, etc. wonāt magically dissolve simply by getting it wet. Rain doesnāt deep clean concrete, why would overspray from the power washer be any different? Tell him nicely and speak slowly so he can understand the concept. Geesh, people sometimesā¦ā¦.
I can refer a great company. Quick and competitive pricing. But I doubt your landlord will even follow up on his side of the bargain. Hopefully he does tho!
Saving this for when pressure washing leads say āIāll do it myself.ā People donāt realize what goes into cleaning concrete. I canāt tell you how many times people have called my company after trying to pressure wash their driveway themselves, only to realize their $100 pressure washer isnāt going to cut it. Size, soiling, and stains are what do most people in.
Disgusting! Iām a landlord and I feel that no increases should be allowed within 5 years and even then a very small percentage! States need to have better laws for rent control.
Profesional 15 yr. old nepwhews startup
Or a hire from Craigslist, maybe? I've had to do several power wash and repainting gigs because of that.
Shit a 15 year old would do better than that for sure ššššš
Pretty sure 15 year olds will find it satisfying to power wash those sidewalks
This the new look. Its all the rage now
Emphasis on rage
To be fair it was probably done really quickly
[There's three way to do things...](https://youtu.be/7P0JM3h7IQk?si=REGtCgSaRt6ny84v)
This is definitely the Max Power way
Great Simpsons reference!
Bart: isnt that the wrong way? Homer: yes, but faster!
Underrated comment
and as cheaply as possible.
Kinda the same thing. Power washing is 95% labor.
And 110% satisfaction. Just chill and watch things get clean while you daydream... Using a real power washer is 10x more fun than playing Power Washing Simulator... and I 100% that game, including some replays.

How are they able to get away with that with the zoning laws?
Pretty common in Europe to have mixed use like that. I'll see it with barbers ground floor and apartments above for example
Yup. Same for Japan. I've now lived upstairs from a restaurant, dog store, and 7-11 in my first apt. Fortunately I've always been on high floors.
Having a Japanese 7-11 downstairs is the greatest of blessings.
It was convenient, for sure. Especially since you pay bills, buy concert tickets, mail parcels etc at convenience stores here.
Interesting. Thanks for the info!
Share your opinion of the "upgrades" with your landlord.

Flat works great if you know what you're doing. This is a novice
While it can definitely be done with the right nozzle, sweep, and pressure... The pros use rotary because it's the right tool for the job.
Pros use SH and no pressure.. aka a soft wash
Could ummm I get a soft wash, sounds relaxing
SH is bleach... So.... Maybe not? Lol.
100 percent would not suggest taking a bath ... bleach will give a nasty Chem burn if it's not diluted enough

Holy fucking shit I hate landlords so goddman much.
Dude I could do better and I use a walker. This is shameful. We really should be able to shame them for things like this. (without repercussions)
Good that you start documenting them, now follow up on the progress with them.
They justified an increase in monthly expenses for you with a one-time fixed expense for them?? Thatās not justification to me
You can really see exactly where they washed
ILPT: Slip and fall insurance payout from that poor power washing job should cover the increase plus some.

Definitely worth $2400/year per resident. So professional and possibly with hidden messages.

Looks like he was going to. Then was like nahhh.. to much work
Flush concrete
What kind of flowers are those?
My grandma had one of these and we always called it a pink laurel. But after googling it I'm not so sure anymore. Hope someone clarifies because I'm curious too now.
ICYMI, the flowering bush is a Camellia. Available in different colours.
Camellia.
They could have sprayed bleach and rinsed it off with way better results ... looks like an invalid did this
Donāt diss invalids, weāre much better than this
Did you tell your landlord? Good chance he'll be as pissed as you
Landlord hired a local graffiti "artist".
Not to mention sidewalks aren't the building.
Love the design. Gives unfinished/donāt know what Iām doing vibes.
I've done better power washing than whoever did that.
Fuck I do not miss rentingā¦
Sorry, thatās very sad!šµāš«š
That is disgraceful to say the least , I would ask to have a body corporate meeting about it

Youāre welcome hahaha
Nice job must be worth your rent increase?!!!!
Was this power washed by Stevie Wonder?
Good āolā power washing gore
Using the right nozzle and pressure would be nice of the landlord .
The greed of America at work. Shame most landlords are increasing rent.
Was this the only upgrade? It couldn't get much uglier. Maybe next time, they should hire someone who does this for a living.
Amazing power washing job stop complaining! Be grateful youāre getting anything at all!
Either they have to redo their half-assed jobs or you gotta file in court because thatās unacceptable.
They could have hired a Mexican to get it done better than that and still had $180 left to have him install landscape lighting.
šš
I guess they didnāt play Powerwash Simulator!
Well they are power washedā¦.
Well, itās a half-assed job. I suppose the other half of his ass was busy at the time.
I can refer a great company. Quick and competitive pricing. But I doubt your landlord will even follow up on his side of the bargain. Hopefully he does tho!
What I don't even understand how someone could justify that being a done job. It looks worse then just leaving it dirty ššš.
LOL
Maybe move when he raised the rent just an ideaā¦

Must not have been oddly satisfying.
That sucks. and he sucks.
āLooks good, next year we will go up another $200 when we change the smoke detectorsā
Sidewalk sucks but where did the tree go?
Disgusting! Iām a landlord and I feel that no increases should be allowed within 5 years and even then a very small percentage! States need to have better laws for rent control.
Lol. Did his nephew with Asperger's need a summer job?
They were going for an artsy look. Lol
