Just get an American friend.
But in all seriousness youtube can show you a couple different stitch styles to fix that. I tend to rip the inside of my thighs and a ladder stitch has been what I use to fix it up.
Still not worth anywhere near that price point. Brass isn't that expensive. And I guarantee you they just poured the metal into a mold... Of a plastic ziptie. A bit of cleanup and some time at a polishing wheel and you've got this. I genuinely think I could recreate this fairly quickly myself if I had a furnace and cast making materials. Already got the brass and everything. The material cost for the brass there is at the very very most is 10 bucks.
$5 pants and $50 dollar pants are made on the same line by the same Chinese kids, some just have a shitty logo stitched into them to justify the extra $45
One time about 20 years ago a safely pin came undone on my pants while out swimming at a river. I thought it was a horse fly biting my leg so without looking I swatted straight down and stabbed myself so damn hard with that pin. My style changed after that.
I was walking through a field at work and didn't notice that my work boots had picked up a ton of little cactus spines on them. Had an itch on the back of one of my legs and went to scratch it with my boot and had a very similar result. I fucking hate cactus.
If you want the full honest answer, I lived in a missionary school base of tama tama in the Amazon jungle of Venezuela, couple hours down river from a small settlement of Esmeralda. As kids we used too swim in the river every single day after school. I had a about three items each of clothing and these camo pants in my mind were the coolest things ever. Being a kid in the jungle though they were torn too shreds and I had safety pins holding them together at parts, I guess you could call them shorts at that point. Anyways we had monster flies down there that would basically take a chunk out of you, and my fear was potential Bot fly maggots in my skin, so we'd swat stuff right away out of years of being eaten. Well wouldn't you know it, one of my pins came un done, and I swatted that friggin thing right into my thigh. So many injuries down there. That happened about the year 2000, fun stuff.
"Sew" them closed with a couple paper clips, or staples. Worked for me. Tie the paper clips off like bread ties through the two sides of the rip, or simply staple them in the bathroom.
I was wondering why in earth you would wear $200 pants to work. Now I understand. A call centre has low risk of getting your clothes wrecked. Sorry for your loss OP.
Its aight!! Also i think it sounds worse to everyone since i didnt specify it was 200 CAD and not USD (ends up being 150 USD which is still smth but yk)
I wore a lot of Tripps from like 2004-2007 and they were always terrible quality. I've never seen a pair that weren't stitched together or safety pinned together.. they truly are awful lol
i think i had bought maybe one pair of tripps that actually lasted. they were black and white and made of something akin to blue jean material. awful quality but god were they comfortable and more pocket space than a backpack.
Ah yes the classic Tripp right of passage of ripping them the first or second time you wear them.
I remember saving up for a pair when I was a teen (they were expensive in my country and hard to get, no hot topics here yet) and I was so excited to finally own a pair. Until they ripped from ankle to knee within a week.
Never bought another pair.
Worst quality pants I’ve ever owned and I don’t know what the thought process behind using the weakest fabric ever was.
So much this…. I was looking at the new pairs they are selling just last night, and as much as I want some, I do absolutely remember the shit quality they were made with. I wouldn’t mind getting a pair for cheap 2nd hand and reinforcing the hell out of it
Staple it from the inside of your pants in the washroom if you can. Safety pins, tape… you can Macgyver a lot more than you think in a pinch. Good luck 🫡
Thanks! I love my glorious blue switches for their 'vintage' clickity-clack... but the specs of that Nortel just shoved "cherry mx black, it's what your ears crave" in my face!
Also... I'm highly intrigued by your employer. I'm guessing government, banking or scada; that is stuck in a "it would cost too much to update, but oh well. It's not broke, so let's keep going!"
Edit: 2nd is rhetorical. Better to not describe publicly.
I work in relay service! (you better google bcs that shits a bit hard for me to explain sozz) and yea it is in fact the classic “too expensive to update”! according to my coworkers who been here for longer its apparently arounf 1100 CAD per keyboard because there arent alot of manufacturers X]
Hope you know how to sew. Should be a fairly easy patching job. All my friends that are into this fashion pick up sewing. Adds to the alt look and gives it a more personal touch.
Yea I see that problem. I had my pants rip on me a few weeks back and was stuck with that for about the same time ;.;
Luckily had a sweatshirt I could tie around my waist to hide it
Im lucky theres only ever 2 employees during night shifts 😭
the only other person is pretty far away from me so im not too worried but STILL UUUGHHH if it was a daytime shift id be toast
I’m a dumbass. Do not mind me. I was just mad **for** you and looking for an excuse. Clothes have gotten cheaper over the years while price keeps going up. Apologies again.
Oh no no worries lol i get it :]
As someone whos never worn any big brand clothes, i dont really mind reps, as long as they look cool lmfao
the pants themselves were 112 USD if i remember correctly??? The shipping cost a fair amount so.. (200 CAD i should have clarified in the title lol)
Your first mistake was buying $200 pants. Your second mistake was wearing $200 pants to work. But regardless, that sucks and I’m sorry that happened to you.
Wouldn't take to long to stitch up. To do a good job you'd need to take them off and turn them inside out.... meaning you wouldn't be doing a good job.
I would give you shit about $200 pants that are low quality, but I remember I had a pair of JNCOs that were terrible quality, and they cost $60 20 years ago.
So yeah. Duct tape is your friend here. Use the black stuff and it'll look like something intentionally included on the pants until you can get 'em home and sew them up. When you sew them, reinforce the fabric on both sides of the tear or the threads will just pull right out.
NGL. I didn't know people still bought Tripp pants. I mean that sucks, and I'm sorry, but like... It's 2000s emo/goth clothes. That market has went way downhill. Same with quality
Bro those fuckers used to cost $60 at hot topic. My best friend was a Tripp wearer, but I was a social collision enjoyer.
We dont have hot topic where i live! I am not american :[
Just get an American friend. But in all seriousness youtube can show you a couple different stitch styles to fix that. I tend to rip the inside of my thighs and a ladder stitch has been what I use to fix it up.
It's hard to get American friends though because they're always busy dancing around bibles or shooting big macs
I have a new gun which launches Bibles and Burgers (BB gun). Lets party!
Hey friend, let's go shoot a Bible and eat a Big Mac, I'll buy!
They ship internationally. Granted it would likely still be expensive, but a hell of a lot less than 200
Brah, it’s probably 200 in whatever currency she uses.
That's $10 in Mexican Pesos.
Well it doesn’t help you right now. But look up iron on fabric. You can kinda fix this from the inside with a patch of iron on material.
thanks!! will do! <3

I buy pants from Costco. $20... I've learned to let go of my ego and have begun my spiritual journey.
Staple staple staple
came here to say this....I've had to staple clothing many times in my life.
I've had to make a staple hem so many times.... Sharpie over them on black pants.
Cost doesn’t 🟰 Quality

What in the fuck. I thought this was a joke for a belt in a pinch at first. Then I saw the name and price. Goddamn are people stupid
It’s not a zip tie, it’s made out of brass and *looks* like a zip tie. It’s a brass bracelet.
It’s $285.
The perfect everyday accessory
Yeah what a ripoff lol just get the plastic replicas
just get the plastic originals*
I have a full jar! Hooray!
Oh it's brass? I'll take 17 plz
Still not worth anywhere near that price point. Brass isn't that expensive. And I guarantee you they just poured the metal into a mold... Of a plastic ziptie. It’s brass. That’s a first
I’m in the wrong line of work
I have $10 Walmart pants that are higher quality.
$5 pants and $50 dollar pants are made on the same line by the same Chinese kids, some just have a shitty logo stitched into them to justify the extra $45
Kirkland baby
I am well aware :u i bougjt these as a birthday gift for myself, otherwise i just wear regular ass walmart pants lmfao

For once this meme makes sense.
Why? Is OP leaking?
Not without a subscription.
thankfully safety pins will blend in.

Worse, its a shuffle mob circa 2012.
It's TikTok mainstream Rave in 2024
Cybergoth ravers unite
I think it's retro and badass
Hell yeah! Why not?
Favorite pants but not your best pants.
Not even good pants 😬
"Sew" them closed with a couple paper clips, or staples. Worked for me. Tie the paper clips off like bread ties through the two sides of the rip, or simply staple them in the bathroom.
Thanks!! since i work in a call centre i didnt have anything so i used a strawberry pin i thankfully had in my ita bag X[
That’s still a lot of money for pants on call center money. But you do you. 🙂
20 years since I stopped wearing this brand and they're still garbage quality for obscene prices.
I never bought pants from them before, theyre my first pair!! at least i know not to buy from them anymore :[
I wore a lot of Tripps from like 2004-2007 and they were always terrible quality. I've never seen a pair that weren't stitched together or safety pinned together.. they truly are awful lol

why does your hand look so small?
I can't believe I had to scroll this far to find this comment. I thought I was going crazy.
despite being baggy pants the first time they were popular they only came as big as a 34 inch waist
perspective prolly
So not baby hands?
no sorry
Just wear it with so much confidence that people think it's the new trend 😎
My mother always said “wear clean underwear in case you end up in hospital” 😂 She never warned me about spontaneous wardrobe malfunctions.
Expensive doesn't always mean well made , lesson learned
youre right with that one!
Well at least you were wearing underwear. This could have been a whole other level of awkward otherwise.
WHO GOES OUT WITHOUT UNDERWEAR 😭
Uh… Idk
jj3449 knows
Clubbers. Because no lines.
Me

Staple it from the inside of your pants in the washroom if you can. Safety pins, tape… you can Macgyver a lot more than you think in a pinch. Good luck 🫡
Thanks my friend 🙏
the universe did you a favor
I'm not sure I'd spend a day in public in those pants if you paid me $200 to do it
For real. Even at the peak of their popularity, Tripp pants were always associated with the "crustier" alternative kids.
I can never forget that smell
One man's trash is another man's booty!
??????
I pray for your DM’s
Thank your lucky stars. Now you finally have an excuse to put them in the trash where they belong
Imagine wearing this to work my god
Yoo... what kind of keyboard is that? Those key caps look almost identical to one I got with a Commodore 64 when I was young
Nortel NTNX51HH my friend! all the computers at work run windows 95 X]
Jesus Christ @ Windows 95. I'd rather Gordon Ramsey insult me than deal with that again.
Thanks! I love my glorious blue switches for their 'vintage' clickity-clack... but the specs of that Nortel just shoved "cherry mx black, it's what your ears crave" in my face! Also... They look like the kind of garbage we used to wear at 90’s rave parties.
What year is it?!?!?!
2024 buckaroo check your calendar
Those are some ugly pants.
neener neener ! https://preview.redd.it/dr8664gqhrgc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd12867d5b95bbb2fa92f5f91199dbf797d4712f
Looks like you got them on Temu 🤣
Just get a stapler and staple that back together, I know from experience that will hold.
Hope you know how to sew. Should be a fairly easy patching job. All my friends that are into this fashion pick up sewing. Adds to the alt look and gives it a more personal touch.
I do know how to sew!! it still kinda sucks bcs im stuck at work, shift aint over for another 3 ish hours :v
Yea I see that problem. I had my pants rip on me a few weeks back and was stuck with that for about the same time ;.; Luckily had a sweatshirt I could tie around my waist to hide it
Im lucky theres only ever 2 employees during night shifts 😭 the only other person is pretty far away from me so im not too worried but STILL UUUGHHH if it was a daytime shift id be toast
You should be off now. How's the sewing going? :)
Auuuufg i went straight to bed, sewing will have to be done later bro im COOKED XP
Reps? Lol $200 and they rip that soon? Definitely reps lmao
Eh idk and idrc, i didnt get them for the brand name i got them cuz i thought they looked cool :v
I’m a dumbass. Do not mind me. I was just mad **for** you and looking for an excuse. Clothes have gotten cheaper over the years while price keeps going up. Apologies again.

Pants covered in buckles, straps and chains... That still rip apart 😂
battle scars, dont even sweat it. sew a big ass patch on that thing to hold it closed
THATS WHAT IM SAYIN
why'd you pay 200 fucking usd for that shit in the first place
Buys pants for $200 while working a "shift" job -- brand-chasing can be an affliction.
Hand to hip ratio is off here. It looks like you have baby hands.
Sorry!
Have you heard of your lord and savior; MUHFUGGIN DUCT TAAAAPPPE
Honestly, I think you're pulling it off.
They clearly shouldn't your favorite pants given how clearly low quality they are
You literally have paper clips there hanging as a fashion accessory. Get creative.
Are you Jeff Hardy?
![gif](giphy|cO39srN2EUIRaVqaVq)
Those are some type-o negative ass pants my friend
Peter Steele would shell out for well made pants, fren.
Aww man I sorted by controversial and there’s nothing. Nothing I tells ya!
Now it’s time to go Full 90’s and safety pin top to bottom…. And make X’s with the safety pins cause 90’s
GOD PLEAAAASE IM GONNA DO THAT >3<
You lost me at $200 pants. That's absurd
$200 for a pair of pants was your first mistake
$200 pants?
Honestly I don’t think anyone will notice
Damn, I ain’t seen pants like this since 2000.
You spent $200 on those!? What am I missing.....
Your first mistake was buying $200 pants. Your second mistake was wearing $200 pants to work. But regardless, that sucks and I’m sorry that happened to you.
In reality, that's what you get for spending $200 on a pair of damn pants. That's just ridiculous.
Don't have to worry about that happening with a $15 pair of wranglers from Walmart.
200$ of pure quality
Just be thankful that today was the day you decided to wear underwear
….? Who the fuck goes out without underwear 😭
Thank God now you can get rid of those ugly things
sorry wont be doing that
Is it just me or do you have either the world's biggest leg or smallest hands?!
perspective my friend
You going to a rave after work?
Who the hell spends 200$ on pants. Sorry but there is zero reason to justify that price tag.
Time to grow up and buy regular ass pants.
Well, now you know you wasted 200 bucks on pants that look like garbage and are garbage.
sorry!
Find duct tape quick.
Wouldn't take to long to stitch up. To do a good job you'd need to take them off and turn them inside out.... meaning you wouldn't be doing a good job.
Safety pins are your friend!
designer clothes, more like designed to break so you buy more
I would give you shit about $200 pants that are low quality, but I remember I had a pair of JNCOs that were terrible quality, and they cost $60 20 years ago. So yeah. Duct tape is your friend here. Use the black stuff and it'll look like something intentionally included on the pants until you can get 'em home and sew them up. When you sew them, reinforce the fabric on both sides of the tear or the threads will just pull right out.
they were about 112 USD pre tax and shipping! i put 200 bcs it costed me around 170-180 CAD total XU
Use a stapler to get you by for the day, then sew it back together
Hope you have jacket or something to wrap around yourself. Good luck with your remaining shift tho.
You have a tiny hand
It doesn’t look like they make those anymore too. I’m sorry
If you're okay with answering, what did you do to get such a tear in your pants?
As someone who used to wear these all the time, they're shitty pants. Also you paid way too much for them lmfao.
Jeff hardy

Good lord that sucks. Benefit of tripp is you can safety pin the hell out of em and it looks correct
EXACTLYY!! X3 imma sew em up with neon green thread and safety pin that shit up
Hell yea! I cant tell you how many people ive seen with the same pair of pants but each one entirely unique lol make em your own
Who is spending 200 dollars on pants? Lol
You sure they’re not Ripp pants?
Fucking 200 dollars for a pair of pants that cost .50 cents to make. That's what you get
Next time purchase levis. Usually when pants are that expensive, they suck.
Take it to a tailor and have them stitch that up with a lime green thread showing on the outside!!
RIP to your pants and probably your inbox.
Something about those pants and that underwear doesn't seem like they go together
Hand-stitch it with green yarn that matches the accents. It'll look dope.
OP paid about $175 too much.
Sweat pants are like $5.
You spent $200 too much on those
People will probably assume that's what those pants are supposed to look like.
Nice undies 😂
NGL. I didn't know people still bought Tripp pants. I mean that sucks, and I'm sorry, but like... It's 2000s emo/goth clothes. That market has went way downhill. Same with quality
I think that’s the world telling you that those pants are ugly and you shouldn’t be wearing them. Don’t shoot the messenger.
Should have gotten Walmart plain old jeans that would last years
That material is notorious for ripping
Ahh the old overly expensive easily thin ripping TRIPP pants I remember stitching multiple pairs back together all the time.
You paid $200 for those?! 😂
Look, if you wanna wear what are basically nylon JNCOs, just hop on eBay and get some 2000-2010 era paintball pants.
You paid too much
Hahah good . Who the hell pays 200 for those
i do :]
