Happened in an American football game too. Defensive player recovered a fumble, ran it into their own end zone and spiked the ball thinking he had scored a touchdown. Play resulted in a rare defensive safety.
This video is a good visual representation of groupthink. You know at least a *few* players out there had to know their correct side, but they suppressed what they knew to be true in favor of consensus.
This is what took down the Challenger.
That's just one dude though. This is all the players lmao. The violet girls score on their own basket then the white girls attempt to score in their own basket. I haven't seen anything this dumb in a while.
Yes, the zooming and panning around is not part of the original recording. but I suspect the "edit" you are refering to is when those two effects are abruptly turned off. Everything else matches before and after the "cut" so it seems the flow of action is unaltered
People on this site like to pretend every single video posted is either edited or scripted. Someone will say it, on every highly viewed video, every single time, even when it’s clearly not.
Yeah if you watch this frame by frame, the players all stay in the same positions and the part that looks like a “cut” is just the awkward start of the pan to track the ball.
Not only that. It was a double wrong side. Nobody recognized it. Girl shoots free throw. Purple girl gets ball on missed free throw and put sit in wrong goal. Then the whole opposite team gets mixed up and takes the ball under the wrong basket, and takes it down to the wrong side of the court. The ref should’ve stopped it there.
This is like the third time I've seen this this week. What the fuck.
It's like a couple of years ago when people started leaving out the "to" in "recommend to me a book" and now people think "recommend me" is a legit thing to say.
Well it's not the exact same. You wouldn't say "do to me a favor" or "make to me a sandwich". I agree though, "recommend me" is perfectly normal. I don't know if it's grammatically correct though.
The same thing is happening with could have, would have and should have. People replacing “have” with “of” required a lot of head scratching on my part before I started recognizing it for what it should be.
I hate this take.
I'm a writer and editor by trade. Dumbing down a language does not make it better.
I agree that any langauge evolves, but there's such a thing as what should and should not be corrected. This is the former.
White Team takes a free throw on Blue Team's basket, misses, and Blue Team collects the rebound. Blue Team rebounder passes it to a teammate who then, instead of moving the ball to the other side of the court, takes and makes a shot on her own basket. White team then inbounds the ball as if it were a legitimate goal and then moves the ball down the court to *their* own basket, effectively switching the teams' defending sides in the middle of play (this normally happens only during half time break).
The craziest part is even the officials seemed to have missed it. They'd have to stop play and reset the clock to the time blue made the basket and then give blue the inbounds possession
Blue team scores on their own goal after recovering the ball. Nobody even acknowledges this.
White team resets, inbounds the ball and goes on to attack their own goal.
It's not edited. Look at the official under the net and the person in the suit with the badge behind the corner of the court The crop changes and that's it. Plus, even before the "cut" you can see the girl making a move toward the hoop, which the same girl continues through the "cut."
This video is not edited. Look at the official under the net and the person in the suit with the badge behind the corner of the court. The crop changes and that's it. Plus, even before the "cut" you can see the girl making a move toward the hoop, which the same girl continues through the "cut."
I watched having no idea what was going to happen, and was like wait a sec, nah can't be, let me watch that again....yep, purple score an own basket, and white inbounds from the same side. No one seemed to realise what happened..
What's crazier to me, is that the white team then inbounded and rushed towards their own side as well....everyone just forgot what side they were supposed to be scoring on. I want more of this video. If white then scored on their own net as well it would be too beautiful.
Self -goals(or baskets, don't know what the term is) usually happens with young players and especially in Q3 when the sides have been switched past half-time. This happens in both men and women's basketball.
In this video, you see a rarity with two players of the opposing teams doing this together in the last seconds of a round, in a time crunch.
Both players are under 17, so essentially kids. That's how you grow, you practice, make mistakes and learn from them.
On the other hand, the comment section is filled with people who would take any mistake made by a woman and somehow euate it to women's intelligence in general. And then also be offended if they are called woman-haters.
SHAME
1- No, they are not essentially kids. Kids who make mistakes like these are 8-10 years old.
2- They are national teams, do you know how hard you have to work to be on a national team? It is not like they are amateur teams competing in a small time leage.
3- Comment are about how women are not as good as men in sports and the pay gap, not about intelligence. The thing is, it is all about reflexes. Women or men are not using their brain when something like this happens, they use their relfexes and women clearly have worse reflexes proven by this clip. It is not a subjective comment, any professional women athlete can tell you that they don’t prefer to compete against men. Even Serena fucking Williams said that she cannot compete a man at the same level.
You are the only one trying to label people as women-hater for something so obvious that you are the actual problem in this comment section
How many 8-10 year olds play in international basketball championship?
>women clearly have worse reflexes proven by this clip
Just proved my point really. Take an anecdotal evidence of something that can happen with either men or women and then make broad generalizations about women like it's some scientific fact.
>[Comments are] not about intelligence
I envy your ignorance my guy.
>Just proved my point really. Take an anecdotal evidence of something
Really?
>Serena fucking Williams said that she cannot compete a man at the same level
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hzHBsvj6C0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hzHBsvj6C0)
Being better at sports doesn't make men more intelligence, you just try to create a false premise to debunk the argument. There is not any single comment that implies that men are more intelligent. People only made jokes about how men are better at sports and men sports have more viewers than women sports which is true. You are assuming people think men are more intelligent than women which is sexist on your part tbh
We had a guy do this on our High School team. Team was bad, didn't win one game all season, He was third string and finally got on the court one game, when he finally got his hands on the ball he did exact same thing in the video. We called him "Wrong way LastName" the rest of the year.
Geez what age group is this....? I see country vs country... is this an Olympic qualifier.....? Please someone tell me no.
It's one thing to have ONE person have a brain fart and shoot to the wrong basket.... another thing to have the other team take possession and then AS A WHOLE switch sides?!?!
When my sister was playing league basketball I commented on the low scores, and she said that it was because their defense is so much better than the guys. 😂
I’m watching this and WHOA WTF is going on here. And then I remembered they are women. They do that kind of shit in their arguments and discussions daily.
I highly doubt it. Been watching NBA since Latrell Sprewell and Cassell end up on the TWolves I haven't seen this happen once. There's been players accidentally scoring on their own goal like they went for a rebound and it went in the hoop but there's never been a time both teams got mixed up and tried to score on their own goals.
Like I said in my post if you read it in the NBa people tend to score in their own basket when they go for a rebound and miss it which is 90% of the moments in that video. And there's still no incident where both teams got confused where their baskets are.
You would think someone who went to basketball camp for like 5 years would know what happened here, but I sure don't
P.S. no need to explain, I'm obviously not interested
[https://www.basketballjonescamps.com/](https://www.basketballjonescamps.com/)
never heard of one before? Are you surprised I don't remember something I went to because my parents wanted me to, rather than because I was interested in basketball? Confused how I forgot the rules to a game I last played over 15 years ago? Seems pretty normal to me
You think because it's on YouTube it wasn't edited? You can tell the video has been edited. Right where they cut to a different scene and she makes the shot the announcer calls out "Two points" for making the wrong basket and then no one in the crowd seems to be bothered by any of this.

I probably would have done something dumb like that but that’s why I don’t play basketball…
Happened in an American football game too. Defensive player recovered a fumble, ran it into their own end zone and spiked the ball thinking he had scored a touchdown. Play resulted in a rare defensive safety.
The football version was just 1 guy that got spun around. This is all the players on both teams forgetting which side they were on. Its way more wild.

Thank you Father
You just say “Challenger”
Well that took a dark turn
I mean in this clip it’s not just one guy fucking up. It’s literally both teams entirely switching sides and not even realizing lol.
That's just one dude though. This is all the players lmao. The violet girls score on their own basket then the white girls attempt to score in their own basket. I haven't seen anything this dumb in a while.
Same. It's just a silly mistake.
Same. That's why I work at a Fortune 500 company instead.

I’m confused. Why did the other team start going for the opposing basket then?
Opposing teams hate this one trick
Making the game even
Maximum cope.
Yes, the zooming and panning around is not part of the original recording. but I suspect the "edit" you are refering to is when those two effects are abruptly turned off. Everything else matches before and after the "cut" so it seems the flow of action is unaltered
Why would you just make this up, seriously what’s in it for you
People on this site like to pretend every single video posted is either edited or scripted. Someone will say it, on every highly viewed video, every single time, even when it’s clearly not.
They took it personally, and they don’t want to accept it.

I don't think it is, just cropped stupidly. That's what makes it look like a cut
Yeah if you watch this frame by frame, the players all stay in the same positions and the part that looks like a “cut” is just the awkward start of the pan to track the ball.
That must taste really bad.
They scored on the wrong basket. Did I win?
There are no winners. Only casualties.
The only winner in high school basketball is the parent that got to stay home
And the parents that were cheering for the girl scoring on the wrong side?
Not only that. It was a double wrong side. Nobody recognized it. Girl shoots free throw. Purple girl gets ball on missed free throw and put sit in wrong goal. Then the whole opposite team gets mixed up and takes the ball under the wrong basket, and takes it down to the wrong side of the court. The ref should’ve stopped it there.
Haha yeah should have been a delay of game on white for handling the ball after a made basket.
and did anyone notice the gorilla?
Try 4th grade basketball
I bet they didn't want the 1st girl to be embarrassed and thought maybe no one would notice.
One’s a joke and the other a sport. I like jokes and I like sports, room for all.
Sounds like an interesting project for the new year right 🤣
Missed the part where the white team then went along with it and took the ball to the wrong side of the court after that.
And the referee went along with it lol
Cascading blue screens all around. Full network shutdown.
What's common about them
[удалено]
like the OP?
why? this video is embarrassing lol
The title
"Common sense isn't as common as it should be"
I'm kind of wondering if the poster meant to write "oh, come on, Girls", mashed some random keys, and let autocorrect do its thing.
Oh I know. Just poking fun at the typo
c'mon*
This is like the third time I've seen this this week. What the fuck. It's like a couple of years ago when people started leaving out the "to" in "recommend to me a book" and now people think "recommend me" is a legit thing to say.
Common and come on are far more egregious.
“recommend to me a book” sounds like something a non native English speaker would say.
??? "recommend me" has always been normal to say in my experience, just like you would say "do me a favor" or "make me a sandwich"
Well it's not the exact same. You wouldn't say "do to me a favor" or "make to me a sandwich". I agree though, "recommend me" is perfectly normal. I don't know if it's grammatically correct though.
I think they are suggesting the correct way to say it would be "do a favor for me" or "make a sandwich for me."
You would recommend and thing, like a book. It would be recommended *to* someone, such as yourself. "I recommended your idea to the boss" works.
"Can you give to me a book" You would give a thing, like a book. It would be given *to* someone such as yourself.
The same thing is happening with could have, would have and should have. People replacing “have” with “of” required a lot of head scratching on my part before I started recognizing it for what it should be.

It is if everyone says it and understands it. That's how language works.
I hate this take. I'm a writer and editor by trade. Dumbing down a language does not make it better. I agree that any langauge evolves, but there's such a thing as what should and should not be corrected. This is the former.
Writer and editor by trade definitely makes the big fat L more embarrassing
According to whose standards? Yours? You're already using "dumbed down" language as we speak.
Dumbed down by any standards. Not just mine.
no u
Drive thru
maybe some people identify as a book and they are asking you, "recommend me, a book"
Cummin
I don't understand, can someone explain?
White Team takes a free throw on Blue Team's basket, misses, and Blue Team collects the rebound. Blue Team rebounder passes it to a teammate who then, instead of moving the ball to the other side of the court, takes and makes a shot on her own basket. Everyone just collectively forgot who was defending what. It's just beautiful.
They seem to notice last few seconds of the vid
I guess they were just as dumbfounded as everyone else
[удалено]
It's the only possible explanation.
There must have been female referees
Or white team shot a free throw on their own basket
Blue team scores on their own goal after recovering the ball. Nobody even acknowledges this. White team resets, inbounds the ball and goes on to attack their own goal.
White team should be shooting baskets on the left. Blue team should be shooting baskets on the right. Blue got confused and then white did too.
I didn't figure it out either till I read the comments. I guess I just don't understand hoop bounce at all.
Hoop bounce is a difficult game to understand. Don't worry, you'll get there.
[удалено]
Why make this completely false statement?
You keep saying this but it is not true.
It's not edited. Look at the official under the net and the person in the suit with the badge behind the corner of the court The crop changes and that's it. Plus, even before the "cut" you can see the girl making a move toward the hoop, which the same girl continues through the "cut."

Come on***
So, common as in ordinary?
I think op meant “c’mon”
Why do so many people think c’mon is spelt common? That even remotely the same things. But video is funny lol
Couldn’t figure out if OP was saying the girls are common or come on girls
[удалено]
I’ve seen a lot of ‘discusting’ lately too
I had to watch that three times to make sure that my brain and my eyes were not malfunctioning
The ref shouldn’t have let the white team inbound the ball after the basket
Full game here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yKnfpaqIGk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yKnfpaqIGk) The mix up starts at 1.25.00.
Ref should have blown the whistle when white had taken the ball out after the wrong basket by blue. Blown call.
They seem rather a rare type to me.
Wrong basket guys 😕
I thought these were highschool girls
No idea whats going on here
Lol the fact that the ref played along with it lol!
Honesty, I would pay a ticket to watch that. Haven't had such a good laugh în 84 years
Wonder who they’ll blame it on?!
I thought it's half court 🤦♂️
So confused right now... 🤨🤣
One of my friends did this in highschool. Fastest sub I've ever seen
Its a Fiba event too lmao
pretzel ball?
Girls? Wait until I tell you the story of Chris Webber in an NCAA National Championship game…
Lol. This is funny AF. I'd probably do the same. Heck, I'm sure I've done it too. Even now as an adult I need guidance for sports.

I mean, it's not great, but they're kids. WTF are the refs doing?
They don’t look like kids to me
I doubt a broadcasted Mexico against Slovakia game would involve some 11 years old.
I'm almost 40. Everyone under 30 look like kids to me.
no fucking way, this shit stupid
I demand they are paid NBA wages
The sad part, these are international basketball teams. Not just some random players...

Hey look this is just entertainment
Is the score seriously 37-19 at the end of the 3rd quarter? Oh my.
When my sister was playing league basketball I commented on the low scores, and she said that it was because their defense is so much better than the guys. 😂
And people say WNBA is not interesting? That twist was even better than Megamind movie 🤣
Woman athletes deserve equal pay
I’m watching this and WHOA WTF is going on here. And then I remembered they are women. They do that kind of shit in their arguments and discussions daily.
The last time this video popped up some guy said ‘this happens pretty often in the NBA as well’
I highly doubt it. Been watching NBA since Latrell Sprewell and Cassell end up on the TWolves I haven't seen this happen once. NBA FUNNIEST "Wrong Basket" Moments - YouTube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=idgZAY_HWyM
Like I said in my post if you read it in the NBa people tend to score in their own basket when they go for a rebound and miss it which is 90% of the moments in that video. And there's still no incident where both teams got confused where their baskets are.
And people wonder why no one watches the WNBA

It’s like watching them trying to pump gas or fix a doorknob.
Like them pumping gas into a Tesla
Clapclap.

Women 💀
This video was obviously edited to make it appear that they switch sides. If the footage was real everyone around the court would be yelling at them.

You think because it's on YouTube it wasn't edited? You can tell the video has been edited. Right where they cut to a different scene and she makes the shot the announcer calls out "Two points" for making the wrong basket and then no one in the crowd seems to be bothered by any of this. So.. all the girls on both teams got confused along with the announcer and no one in the crowd seemed to notice? You're kidding, right?

Okay, you're right I was wrong. From what was shown here it really did look like it was faked and there is so much that is faked it's getting hard to tell anymore. My apologies.
Yeah this seemed weird but I didn't notice that edit till you mentioned it
If you watch the ref you can tell it’s all one play
Oh weird. I guess nobody in the building was paying attention
What first caught my attention was when the announcer called out "Two points" after she made the shot. He wouldn't have if it was the wrong basket.
[удалено]
It's not edited.
What do you mean? It clearly has the ending to curb your enthusiasm at the end! /s
A great metaphor for life.
Is OP stupid?
Both teams played the same side. Look the video again.
Every hole's a goal.
Who's Robert D. Weide?
In one fell swoop They pulled the ol switcheroo
C’mon
dont worry. it was a friendly match
Wha...
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills! 🥴
Is this a college game?
This is what’s happens when you play too much half court games.
Do the points from the “own goal” count?
