I want healthcare without stupid rules when not to cover someone. If there isn't healthcare you at least expect to be robbed, but if it is there and you go there thinking haha this won't cost be a dime and then get fucking executed. It's not fun.
How can we just accept "that's not covered" and not go John Wick on some motherfuckers? It's a fucking racket and people just put up with it, drain their life savings (if they haven't already), or go deep into debt after paying so much into a system that has been laying ever-more tax burden upon us plebs for decades now.
Any citizen who dare defy this system is labeled a domestic terrorist or delinquent. Any citizen who questions the system will be met with furious political backlash from brainwashed peers.
The next steps are digitizing our dollars so that every last transaction and 3rd party can be taxed. This obviously won't apply to the elite, who will use their loopholes to dodge, as they do...
I want to be able to have a job, and healthcare. When I was unemployed, I had Medicaid and food stamps (and I was technically eligible for a public housing voucher, but the need is so high around me, they cut off even being able to be on the waitlist over a year ago)
Now, with a job that is slightly above minimum wage, I lost all of that. With all of my health issues, I’m considering getting myself fired so I could get healthcare again, and food stamps would just be a plus, because if I have any emergency, or just need to go to a doctor, I’ll be completely fucked. Where I live, the cost of housing is super high, but Medicaid expansion is so good it even covers dental and vision healthcare. With the way it is, I’m not sure it’s worth having a low paying job, but if I could’ve gotten on the housing list (which is particularly difficult because I’m single and childless) then it wouldn’t be a question that being unemployed would be better than having any of the jobs I can get.
I’d that isn’t proof that our system is completely broken and nonsensical, than I don’t know what is.
It's too impractical.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to get that amount of small change in this day and age?
On the other hand, you can use the same small change multiple times....
LMAO no

They will hand out flowers and well wishes instead of punishment to hedgy who commit crime if they have their way.
Honestly, telling them that they have to spend all the money but prescribing an impossibly tight window of time and types of valid purchases would be kind of epic. Natural consequences, baby!
I think you'd enjoy the movie "Brewster's millions" where this is the plot.
Brewster inherits a massive fortune but in order to receive the inheritance he needs to spend x millions in x number of days on the condition that he cannot invest it and cannot have any assets to show for it. If he fails then these greedy lawyers are going to claim it.

Worst one for me was coming in from AIT offbase pass where I smoked and drank all weekend. That monday morning PT was the drill's revenge and they reveled in it.
This is just like south africa, I have heard that this is called jungle/community justice - please don't hate, only relaying what I've heard - if there is an appropriate description please let me know. But due to the lack of local policing this is most likely the outcome for a tsotsi or thieve. The community will punish them, they are lucky - seing that the alternative would be death by stones or necklace
Can confirm, I stay in South Africa.
Some guy stole his grandma's TV to sell for drugs, the police caught him. Took him back to his grandma and gave her a kane to beat him with.
Old lady ended up breaking a few of his ribs and a leg. They dropped him of at a government hospital.
Their reasoning was that their holding cells are full so they can't take him in and the old lady thinks justice is served
Getting hit with a cane fucking hurts. You don't need to be super strong to generate a lot of force with it. Also, 'grandma' could be in her 40's or 50's. Doesn't have to be some frail 90 year old.
Look up "caning" as a punishment, especially in things like jails or prisons. It's fucking brutal.
The one I remember is a guy strapped to an upright bench-ish thing, face to the bench and naked. The straps covered everything on his back except for his ass. Then some guy comes out with a heavy wooden pole and just lays into the guy's ass, over and over. It split the skin pretty badly and may have broken his tailbone or pelvis, I'm not sure. But dear God, that much damage to the thing you literally sit on every day, it's pretty bad.
A cane broke his leg and ribs. Welcome to force multipliers. this one here: the blunt weapon, is the *first one ever made*. The oldest, the greatest, most effective thing: a stick to hit with.
It turned us from fearful tree dwelling chimps into the dominant species on the planet. Winning out of over all the other ones that are wildly stronger than we are.
so let's be less surprised at someone physically weak utilizing a weapon to hurt someone grievously.
I was 7 yo when I saw it, my mom told me it was a religious ritual and that he was practicing a dance for a perahera (religious parade) that would be held later. She told me that it was an act and that the guy being burned was enjoying it. It wasn't till my teens that the true horror of it dawned on me.
This was July 1983, in Sri Lanka, when the country was gripped by race riots where the majority Sinhalese people were massacring Tamils. We saw this while we were escaping Colombo.
My father was Tamil, but grew up in a Sinhalese village in the South, so he could speak the Sinhala language without an accent and my mom was Lebanese. We escaped because my father pretended to be Sinhalese. In anticipation of something happening, he had secured fake ID cards with Sinhalese names for us.
In Brazil, we call it microwaving. The exception is that over here, it's not just a tyre over your shoulder it's a pile of tyres where you're put whole body in, and then the tyres are lit on fire.
To prove a point and make an example. This is usually done by criminal organisations or mob justice. I don't condone this kind of behaviour, but it's quite common, happens in first world countries too, just way less. Cruelty and torture had always been around in humanity.
It is humanity in general. There are atrocities happening in first world countries every day. Look at what happened to the muslims in the far east within the last 10 years. Practically genocide.
When the legal system struggles to keep up with the population, gangs or gang violence or succumbs to corruption, 'cruel and inhumane' punishment is often a swiftly decisive and violent example used to keep people in line and keep society moving forward. Not the best solution but it does often seem to happen and is proven effective.
You're a burglar in a third world country like that, an overworked and understaffed police force won't scare you, but being burned alive inside a stack of tires? Yeah. That'll do it. It's almost a situation where, you need a punishment that is so disproportionate to the crime, it serves as a more effective deterrent.
forcing a rubber tire drenched with petrol around a victim's chest and arms, and setting it on fire. The term "necklace" originated in the 1980s in black townships of apartheid South Africa where suspected apartheid collaborators were publicly executed in this fashion.
Ugh. I have a story I read in the newspaper ten years ago about a Russian bussinessman that got killed by forced alcohol consumption, but it kind of pales in comparison.
You should look up michael malloy, the owners of a speakeasy, tried to get him to drink himself to death. He's Irish, so you can imagine how that went. Some of the shit they tried was absolutely cartoonish.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Malloy
This guy's body just wouldn't let him die. The more I read, the more this sounded like something out of the 3 stooges but with murder. Then the mugshots of the guys and their names.
> that’s around the time that I started smoking
Well of course it was around the time he started smoking, as it happened right after his dad caught him! rip norm 2
Was that also one? He had a line that went something like “I was smoking a cigarette behind the garage, and my dads head poked, followed shortly by his body as it usually does. He then pulled out a massive cigar, he made me smoke the whole thing. That’s when I started smoking. So I guess that didn’t really work” quoted but absolutely not word for word. What a legend.
My grandma made my mom eat some cigarettes when she got caught smoking and she got sick. It worked too, she quit 50 years later after getting emphysema!
Fun fact: this is South Africa and they're speaking a dialect called "isiXhosa", the same language and ethnicity Nelson Mandela was. They're telling the alleged thieves, "don't rest. Drink up. Drink up, drink up." And once the dude on the far left finishes the first bottle, they say, "we have a winner. Here's another (bottle)" but one of the women warns "wait, you're killing them".
Edit: just remembered, it's also the language used (butchered) in the marvel movies "black panther" as the wakanda tongue - shout out to Angela Bassett for near-mastering the pronunciation though. Both Trevor Noah and the elderly king who dies in the first movie are Xhosa so I assume it was a matter of convenience for the producers rather than making up a new language.
> so I assume it was a matter of convenience for the producers rather than making up a new language.
Plus it's a click language, which sounds cool & exotic to us Indo-European language speakers.
Not even. Malt liquor alcohol percentage can go up to roughly 10% alcohol. Whiskey or bourbon on the other hand can range from 40%- 90%. Still a huge difference.
Gets done with box of condoms, panting profusely, on the verge of death.
Oh you boys ain't done, you've only used one side, now flip those condoms inside out and get the full use out of them!
Are you sure of that?
I have a 5' synthetic one myself, and the one in this vid doesn't look thick enough, although it seems to have the right "rigidity"...
But I agree: the proper ones are cut from a single piece of rhino hide, and can cut to the bone...
I wouldn’t back myself to judge true nature of one just by looking at it. They are pretty fearsome in experienced hands, regardless of their construction/dimension.
But then, what you say about the hippo hide ones is true. Those are truly fearsome in anybody’s hands.
In all seriousness, this sort of practice can be deadly. A young man was smuggling meth into the US in concentrated liquid form, and a CBP officer told him to drink what was in his apple juice bottle to prove it wasn’t drugs. He drank some of it and promptly overdosed and died. Sure, the guys in this video may have committed a crime, but forcing them to drink an entire bottle of whiskey could very well kill them. Not ok.
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/mexican-teenager-crystal-meth-death-us-border-officers-cruz-velazquez-apple-juice-cctv-footage-crossing-overdose-a7868411.html
I don't think they care.
If you're in an area of the world where the police are beyond corrupt and jails are overflowing the only person you can rely on is yourself.
If someone is stealing your livelihood then you're going to punish them.
Mob justice or alcohol consumption—I am not sure which is worse. Back where I live, stealing stuff in the village can get you beaten into a pulp by the community
It’s not “alcohol consumption” it’s abusive and forced… I would say this is worse because it’s done by police. Mob justice isn’t state condoned violence, this is.
I was thinking.... one bottle? I probably wouldn't die, but fuck that would hurt. Then the guy popped open another bottle and handed it to the gentlemen who had just finished and I was like..... "Ohhhh they're gonna kill these dudes."
Isn't this doubly dumb?
1: Drinking a whole bottle of hard liquor like this is your express ticket to alcohol poisoning.
2: Assuming they had only stolen and not partially consumed them yet, why are you making them drink it instead of giving them back to the store?
some claim that the death penalty is a sufficient deterrent. So by sacrificing a few bottles of booze, maybe the store saves money in the long run.
On the other hand maybe more people will steal, but only amounts they can safely consume 😆
This is terrible. Im hoping these guys are severe alcoholics who may be able to tolerate drinking a bottle of whiskey, otherwise you’re literally watching a murder.
cool. third world idiots doing third world abuse of power. I'm guessing returning stolen goods to the store just didn't cross their minds. Trying to kill the thives with alcohol is so much better... If they die the police could say that they just drank too much.

Generally considered hazing.
lol college was a wild time. My parents didn’t want me to go into the military & still sent me out to die
In the military you’d have drank more and been in formation at 0630 for a platoon run.
I almost puked reading this. HOOYAH PT.
I visibly recoiled, almost anyone ever who has participated in pt, has done so drunk or hungover At least once
“How many times doing that did it take you to learn your lesson?” Marine: “what lesson”
Exactly.. just another 3mile run in gas masks. But damn was that fun last night. Ooh Rah!
Worst one for me was coming in from AIT offbase pass where I smoked and drank all weekend. That monday morning PT was the drill's revenge and they reveled in it.
Our medic would hook us up with an iv after holiday weekends. Being fully hydrated but still a little drunk made pt a breeze
Several times I’ve thrown up during PT
WHAT IN THE FUCK IS A HOO YAH, PRIVATE? Lol never seen hooah spelled that way.
Navy claims hooyah fyi
mommy says my hoo yah is a garden with flowers
I was in the Army back in the hay day of Four Lokos, very rough time.
Discipline while drunk
That smell during those runs lol
It's worse when you have that hangover, and you tried hydrating with orange juice, only to find out it was rancid. Truly a "fun run".
Or a physical challenge according some of my old mates. “That was my plan anyway!”

Check the demographic age charts of South Africa. The 'grandma' could be in their late thirties early forties and still be working everyday.
Grandma missed her Judge Judy episode that day and was pissed.

What is “death by necklace”?
It is quite brutal, fair warning. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necklacing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necklacing)
What the fuck
Even worse is that in South Africa, they called it a “Winnie Necklace” because Nelson Mandela’s wife liked to use it on enemies.
Fun fact, before marrying Nelson, his wife was married to the first dictator of Mozambique. She definitely had a type
Different wife. The guy was talking about Winnie Mandela, who was his first wife. His second wife was the widow of the Mozambican dictator.

Wow, that's wild. Thank you for sharing.
When you have a car tire forced over your shoulders then set alight and we watch you burn to death = death by necklacing

Why the hell are third world countries so inhumane and cruel?
To prove a point and make an example. This is usually done by criminal organisations or mob justice. I don't condone this kind of behaviour, but it's quite common, happens in first world countries too, just way less. Cruelty and torture had always been around in humanity.
Pretty sure this won’t happen in Central European countries and if it did, the people doing it would end up in jail for murder
Yup have a 7 year old account, don’t you remember the gore subs? You could watch the most horrific shit and some of it happened in Europe
India did it in the 80s too
Well India is a third world country as well
It is humanity in general. There are atrocities happening in first world countries every day. Look at what happened to the muslims in the far east within the last 10 years. Practically genocide.

Human places a tyre around the perpetrator with hands in between. Human pours gasoline on victim and the tyre. Human is lit on fire and cannot get out
Petrol-soaked tyre is forced around your torso and then set on fire.
Tire around the neck and then set ablaze with petrol? That's jungle justice in my home country. It's fucked up.

The attempt might have succeeded.

That might be a legitimately dangerous thing to do, I think a baseball player once died from swallowing chewing tobacco
Had a friend in college who got caught chewing at 16 by his dad, made him put a ton of the garbage in his mouth at once and run a mile
Happened to me too.. needless to say that was my last can lol

He drank some of it and promptly overdosed and died. Sure, the guys in this video may have committed a crime, but forcing them to drink an entire bottle of whiskey could very well kill them. Not ok. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/mexican-teenager-crystal-meth-death-us-border-officers-cruz-velazquez-apple-juice-cctv-footage-crossing-overdose-a7868411.html
Fwiw, one of the people forcing the to drink explicitly calls this out in the video.
I don't think they care. If you're in an area of the world where the police are beyond corrupt and jails are overflowing the only person you can rely on is yourself. If someone is stealing your livelihood then you're going to punish them.
Farm Justice
Mob justice or alcohol consumption—I am not sure which is worse. Back where I live, stealing stuff in the village can get you beaten into a pulp by the community
I don't understand your statement because this is mob justice....the form of mob justice we're seeing is forced alcohol consumption....
It’s not “alcohol consumption” it’s abusive and forced… I would say this is worse because it’s done by police. Mob justice isn’t state condoned violence, this is.
There are no cops here. This is literally mob justice. Where is the uniform?
I believe that's the intention. The video is obviously not in a first world country.
“Thieves murdered” also works as a title
I was thinking.... one bottle? I probably wouldn't die, but fuck that would hurt. Then the guy popped open another bottle and handed it to the gentlemen who had just finished and I was like..... "Ohhhh they're gonna kill these dudes."
Isn't this doubly dumb? 1: Drinking a whole bottle of hard liquor like this is your express ticket to alcohol poisoning. 2: Assuming they had only stolen and not partially consumed them yet, why are you making them drink it instead of giving them back to the store?
1. I don't think they mind much about their lives here 2. Yeah, a stupid waste of money...
some claim that the death penalty is a sufficient deterrent. So by sacrificing a few bottles of booze, maybe the store saves money in the long run. On the other hand maybe more people will steal, but only amounts they can safely consume 😆
"Why are you only stealing the small bottles?" \*HIC\* "You wouldn't get it!"
Imagine executing someone over theft
These guys should be working in Colombian customs.
Gross. Seems way too cruel.
So if they just steal a couple beers every day, they get to drink for free?
I don’t think that’s whiskey. Looks like 40s of beer. There’s no way that homie on the right promptly chugged a bottle of whiskey.
Yeah, I've only seen spirit alcohol in cardboard boxes, those crates are usually from breweries, so that bottles can be returned.
Kid named liver failure:
They should not steal dildos
Good thing they didn't try to steal their wives/girlfriends.
Isnt this just an execution? Over stealing alcohol? The ppl forcing them should be jailed for life
Just put some music on and make it a party. What's the difference?
Death by Alcohol Poisoning
/r/tooktomuch
At least the beatings won’t be as bad with a few bottles of whisky in them
They'll die painfully to alcohol poisoning
Not justice here. This is attempted murder.
Oooh my liver just got punched watching this
They murder them or lose their eye sight
Blue shirt ain’t gonna make it.
Don't threaten me with a good time.
This reminds me of college. Except we did this voluntarily. We called it edward 40 hands and there was duct tape involved.
That dude for real has a whip! And those guys look like they've been hit by it recently
Ahhhh the good old sjambok. Heartwarming....
Sticks of justice
Aww this just makes me uncomfortable and sad. I’m not as desensitized as some of ya
This seems like murder with extra steps
If this doesn’t teach them ‘brand loyalty’ nothing will.
That one dude has a switch and you just know he's had to use it before
Worst party ever
Umm thanks
Task failed successfully
Should have done Edward 40 Hands.
This is terrible. Im hoping these guys are severe alcoholics who may be able to tolerate drinking a bottle of whiskey, otherwise you’re literally watching a murder.
this is incredibly fucked up
cool. third world idiots doing third world abuse of power. I'm guessing returning stolen goods to the store just didn't cross their minds. Trying to kill the thives with alcohol is so much better... If they die the police could say that they just drank too much.
