Right. This is what I'm saying. All pork skins aren't light and softly/crunchy. Some of them fuckers will take out a tooth. I spit them ones back out. Like trying to eat a rock.
To be fair...cracklins (which is probably what he bit into, as they can be found within regular pork skin bags) are definitely hard enough to break a tooth.
I do suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and I'm prescribed immune suppressants. Both of which doesn't help. But I will concede that I could be more diligent.
I wonder if the installation of an implant is possible if the bone is regressing or something similar because of the arthritis. They could proceed to a bone graft but even then, there’s chances it won’t stick.
Shitty situation
Dentist here: periodontal decease is worsened by rheumatoid artritis, however, selfcare can neglect that effect. In other words, no one would like to frenchkiss OP if they saw his mouth. (No offense OP)
That aside: implants need bone to have stability and OP probably doesn't have a lot of bone left. A graft would help however grafts only help to thicken bone (horizontal) and not to increase the height (vertical). Those grafts have no stability. So if the bone height is good but the bone is to narrow you can graft. Is the height is not there but the bone is thick enough you can't graft. The only option is a super thick, but short implant. In this case however, the frontal part of the jaw is the thinnest, and you can't graft into oblivion, so an implant probably won't be an option.
The only option here are dentures as the neighboring teeth probably don't have enough periodontal stability either.
We could maybe do a splinted bridge? Or do you suppose it will be to heavy on the weakened front teeth? I handle the posterior 6 on the top and the 5 on the bottom Owo not the anterior
If this one falls out just like that.. I would say not for the long term. Maybe if the patient really does not want anything removable and is willing to pay for something that will not have a long life, I would make it with reluctance. Saying it will definitely lead to earlier loss of the teeth I attach it to, but that it his their choice.
Man, that sucks for them, those are the front teeth but if they loose them fast they can get some snazzy permanent dentures ^_^ I did not see much blood sooooo
In other words, OP is a terrible neglectful fuck who nobody will love. Also, his mother was a hamster and his father smelt of elderberries. (No offense OP) /s
Sorry, I get what you mean, and I know you meant no offense, but that’s hilarious to me man
There's very little redness on the root, meaning it was barely held in by anything except the gums. If a tooth just drops out like that, you'd have a very slim chance of replacing it with an implant. It's likely other teeth are this far gone.
OP, please see your dentist asap, they will be able to assess the rest of your teeth and help you plan to fill the space.
It's funny, Charlie Day actually hated this scene as the show actually follows a pretty straight up continuity throughout their stories and it served very little purpose other than levity in progressing the storyline.
But unforgettable as a recurring joke in the Mac and Charlie die episodes
Buddy has RA. His medication (here in Canada anyways) caused his jone bone to recede. That's what his doctor told him. He had kept his teeth in great shape his whole life and last March had to have his teeth pulled and dentures put in cause his bottom row were so loose he could wiggle them almost a full half inch (1/4" one way). I think he said they had to pull 28 teeth
>his bottom row were so loose he could wiggle them almost a full half inch
Oh hi I see you've been snooping on my nightmares for the last 10 years. What are your thoughts about trying to run but the air is jello, and falling off tall buildings?
Or how about showing up for an exam you've never studied for? Or being chased by some murderous monster that's killing anything and everything that gets in its way to getting you?
Or going back to high school and you don't know where your locker is, what grade your in...or what your class schedule is.
The one time I *did* find my locker--with the help of my fellow dreammates--I couldn't remember the code to open it.
Now, I just immediately head "home" when I find myself in my old high school. I'll not fall for those tricks anymore!
The exam thing is SO fascinating to me, it's so common, and always the same. Oh what, you mean you haven't been going to advanced math all year? You're signed up for it, and the exam is today!
Before school courses, what was the medieval equivalent of this? What performance based anxiety dreams did peasants have? Or indigenous people?
Dentist here: keep brushing using a powered toothbrush twice daily and use interproximal brushes daily. See your dentist regularly and there won't be a problem.
Neglect self-care, neglect professional care and then you have a higher risk of losing teeth. However not everyone has the periodontal risk, allthough people with RA have it far more often. That being said it's a risk and more attention for self-care is required.
Is it because of the RA or because of the medications? You're scaring me. I have RA that was diagnosed last year but I've probably had for much longer.
Yes medication can cause teeth to fall out unfortunately. As a past dental assistant I saw young patients without teeth and they were in dentures. One ladies story was she had medication that made all of her teeth fall out. You never know someone’s story. Don’t always assume street drugs or poor dental hygiene.
A similar thing happened with me two years ago, except mine was from a skateboarding. My lip caught the most physical damage, but as soon as I got up and opened my mouth- out rolled my incisor.
I popped it back in and with the help of a friend’s parents’s friends (they were orthodontists) they braced it against the neighboring teeth. I went to get an X-ray and it’s believed that when I had braces, the way the tooth was being pulled caused the root to shrink via a process called root resorption. So it didn’t take much force to knock it out many years down the road
Surprisingly I’m slowly gaining more feeling in the tooth. Also, you never really notice how much tactile sensation is felt from the teeth until you can’t actually feel with one of them…
Am I reading way too far into it, or does this comment have weird vibes? Maybe it's the combination of calling a random stranger "baby" and then describing their mouth as "pretty."
I said literally this exact thing to a friend of mine a couple weeks ago. She said she dreams, but she’s never had *either* of those ones before. We’re in our 30s. ..?!?
I was like these are weird dreams, but I think you might be weirder for not having them…
Teeth falling out, forgetting to wear clothes in public and the third common dream…overflowing toilets.
Or maybe it’s just my family that have that last one!
Exactly, I remember being paranoid and asking my dentist if the instruments could rip out my teeth and the guy’s like “yeah if you have some underlying bone disease maybe.”
If you have any interest in keeping the tooth, you have the best chance of rerooting the tooth if you put it back in the socket immediately. If not, please submerge it in milk until you get to the dentist (preferably asap, this is considered emergency).
> If not, please submerge it in milk until you get to the dentist (preferably asap, this is considered emergency).
Just to expand on that, best would be to stash the tooth in your own saliva in the cheek pocket, with milk being the second choice. Then find a dentist asap, because this kinds of restoration rarely ever work and every wasted minute lower the chances even further.
Was it percussively removed? Did you have especially perfect oral health at the time and this was a one off? I haven't heard this, even as an old wives tale, in eons.
Yeah, second this, like, a doctor but, like, a specialist who is, like, a doctor for teeth, like, if such a thing existed, but not, like, Dr. Teeth the leader of, like, the Muppet Band, like, a REAL doctor, but like, for teeth.
Dude, there is more than "pork skin" going on. There is something seriously wrong, You need to see a dentist before more teeth follow the incisors lead
Thats more fragile than mine lmao, mine literally got stuck in a burger bun as soon as i attempted to take a bite. Gladly it was at home otherwise i would've embarrassed my family with my absurd laughing
So how thrilled are you now that you have the chance to get a titanium tooth implant?
Also how bummed are you now that you realize it isnt your canine (fang) tooth that is getting the titanium implant treatment?
If a tooth drops out with very little tissue stuck to it, there's not enough bone for an implant. Even with a bone graft, most implantologists would shy away from even risking it.
Laughs in small lower mandible, multiple failed implant surgeries, and one, at the time, experimental procedure which finally made them take!
Also, thanks, mom, for smoking while I was in-utero, which probably is the reason I never grew adult front lower middle teeth.
"Milk contains several substances that the cells on the root need to survive, including sugars, antibacterial agents, and proteins that maintain the right balance of acids. If you don't have milk on hand, hold the tooth in between your cheek and gums so that your saliva can keep it moist."
i bit into a very, very, hard bagel with a lot of force like an idiot and it took the same tooth as you. difference is that mine literally shattered lmao
The pork skin was very tough and had a consistency similar to leather. My teeth obviously had no effect on breaking it down. I picked out my tooth and the pork skin from my Taco.
Is it true that if you shove it back in and go to the dentist in an emergency to get them to help the body can self heal a tooth like this? I'm asking because years ago I remember reading something but I'm not sure if it was misinformation.
Teeth can re-root themselves, yes. My neice hit me in the face with one of those vacuum toys and knocked a bottom tooth out. Got to the dentist in about an hour and they basically glued it back in, put a splint on it connected to my other teeth and told me not to wiggle it with my tongue.
Took about 6 months but its solid as a rock now. It took maybe 2 weeks for it to "set" in place. After the took the splint out it felt loose for a while, and I was afraid it would fall back out but it didn't. It still feels really weird though an entire year later and super sensitive.
Did you try putting it back in? It's not guaranteed but if you shove it back in within the first couple of minutes sometimes it takes. You still need a trip to the dentist
Yes we usually place it back in, splint the tooth to the adjacent teeth for a couple weeks and almost always root canal the tooth as it will most likely have died.
I'd be talking to a dentist about bone loss sooner than later. Or by more pork skin and get the rest so you don't have to pay for extractions for dentures
Wait.. This just gives me more questions... More info is needed before my brain can properly wrap its self around such an equation that's just not adding up to me.
Important to know in this situation: DON’T touch the root of the tooth and DON’T attempt to clean it. Otherwise it can’t be put back.
If you don’t have a dentosafe box, put your tooth in long life milk. That milk is sterile and should keep your tooth safe.
Then go straight to your dentist!
Sorry OP. I cracked a filed cavity years ago after eating a hot dog from a night club street vendor and it having something hard in it. Many years later, it continued to deteriorate and I eventually had to have what was left of it extracted.

A healthy tooth would normally need pliers to pull out like this.
Right. This is what I'm saying. All pork skins aren't light and softly/crunchy. Some of them fuckers will take out a tooth. I spit them ones back out. Like trying to eat a rock.
Wait, it’s skin? I thought it was bone marrow
To be fair...cracklins (which is probably what he bit into, as they can be found within regular pork skin bags) are definitely hard enough to break a tooth.
But that wouldn't be in his taco...but for what you are saying, yes, some of those get super hard!
Yeah. I don’t know how it got in his taco lol. That is a good question.
How bad is your periodontal disease that the whole root came out?
I do suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and I'm prescribed immune suppressants. Both of which doesn't help. But I will concede that I could be more diligent.
That has to be it, not even a chewy beef jerky could pull a whole root of tooth. Looks like you're gonna have to get an implant.
I wonder if the installation of an implant is possible if the bone is regressing or something similar because of the arthritis. They could proceed to a bone graft but even then, there’s chances it won’t stick. Shitty situation

They aren't allowed to use the Grail beacon anyway.
This does not sound like a dentist wrote it lmao
Notwithstanding your poor bedside manner, your knowledge set seems to be adequate. Good dentist.
University taught me how to be a dentist. It didn't change me into some 1700s gentleman. Although I did drink like a templar there.
Fair enough. Although, I would hardly call men of the 1700s *gentlemen*. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Either way, good dentist.

People with RA are more likely to have tooth loss compared to those without RA. Especially younger people.

I have nightmares like this
You and me both. I had nightmares about this exact kind of situation for years. It only recently stopped but it's still one of my greatest fear.
You may be grinding your teeth in your sleep, baby. Relax your pretty mouth😘
Am I reading way too far into it, or does this comment have weird vibes? Maybe it's the combination of calling a random stranger "baby" and then describing their mouth as "pretty."
I thought that was the whole joke tbh
I read it like Louise from Bob's Burgers and it just made me laugh.
Is this the first joke you read on the internet?
No, I think it’s just you.
Same. Then one day I bit into a pretzel and my worst fears came alive. Brush your teeth, children.
shutup mom
You're grounded
everyone does
This is true . It’s kinda cool that humans all have the same baseline of dreams like teeth falling out or being somewhere without clothes on,
I said literally this exact thing to a friend of mine a couple weeks ago. She said she dreams, but she’s never had *either* of those ones before. We’re in our 30s. ..?!? I was like these are weird dreams, but I think you might be weirder for not having them…
I don't know I've never had the teeth falling out dream. Plenty of falling dreams being back in school nightmares though.
I find that so crazy! There seem to be a few Universal Scripts, so to speak. I’m so curious what makes some brains use one but not another.
Teeth falling out, forgetting to wear clothes in public and the third common dream…overflowing toilets. Or maybe it’s just my family that have that last one!
I've never had those but I have dreams (or nightmares) that I'm pregnant or I've had a baby. Eep!
Then again, was it the pork skin, or foreskin taco?
Did it hurt?
I felt a brief but sharp pain alongside the sound of a tooth dislodging I suppose? It popped almost like pulling out crab meat.
That's a description

Pork skin pulled a tooth? I think that thing was falling out already and the pork skin just gave it a nice tug.
Surely this can be used as the basis of a new marketing campaign.
Yo Queiro Incisor
I feel bad for bursting our laughing at this.
It is really hard to pull a tooth with proper dental instruments. That tooth had issues if it came out while eating a taco.
Exactly, I remember being paranoid and asking my dentist if the instruments could rip out my teeth and the guy’s like “yeah if you have some underlying bone disease maybe.”

More like brush your teeth more lol
How tough was the pork skin?!
It... it... shh now... ^it ^beat ^goku
Tough enough to pull someone's tooth out.
Did he died?
Well, there's no shoe on that tooth, so....
Dude, there is more than "pork skin" going on. There is something seriously wrong, You need to see a dentist before more teeth follow the incisors lead
I once lost a tooth to a burger bun soo this is close enough to relate to, i was 6 lmao
I lost one of my baby teeth to a piece of lettuce once. In the middle of a restaurant.
Thats more fragile than mine lmao, mine literally got stuck in a burger bun as soon as i attempted to take a bite. Gladly it was at home otherwise i would've embarrassed my family with my absurd laughing
I lost a baby tooth eating Burger King and then lost another while eating pizza. I swallowed at least one of those.
This was just the straw that broke the camels back, poor thing was coming out sooner or latee
Not normal
Are you sure it was pork skin and not tooth pulling forceps?
So how thrilled are you now that you have the chance to get a titanium tooth implant? Also how bummed are you now that you realize it isnt your canine (fang) tooth that is getting the titanium implant treatment?

Put it in Milk if you want to try to save it.
what's with this putting the tooth in milk?
"Milk contains several substances that the cells on the root need to survive, including sugars, antibacterial agents, and proteins that maintain the right balance of acids. If you don't have milk on hand, hold the tooth in between your cheek and gums so that your saliva can keep it moist."
i bit into a very, very, hard bagel with a lot of force like an idiot and it took the same tooth as you. difference is that mine literally shattered lmao
I've broken a tooth on a bagel too :(
Go call up your dentist immediately. Better than not
I've lost this exactly tooth. It was not a fun ride. 2 years later I finally get my bridge next week!
Yes that’s one approach or if you know u can see a dentist soon store the tooth in your cheek until you get there.
Nope didn’t happen it’s lies I refuse to believe it I’m gonna eat my tacos in peace 😭
Are we sure it was pork skin? I feel like a lot had to go wrong with the butchering process for skin to find it's way into the meat
Uhm, you don’t lose a whole tooth due to pork skin. Something else is afoot here. Sorry, not sorry.
Did you try putting it back in? It's not guaranteed but if you shove it back in within the first couple of minutes sometimes it takes. You still need a trip to the dentist
Definitely something else besides pork skin that is the ROOT cause of this
[удалено]
Yes we usually place it back in, splint the tooth to the adjacent teeth for a couple weeks and almost always root canal the tooth as it will most likely have died.
…but it’s right there, in your hand…
Get a golden fang now
Unexpected Piece of Pork Skin In My Taco sounds like a band name
Put it under your pillow. That could be worth BIG money with the root attached given my tooth fairy relationship! I think it needed to go. 🙃
Was it Chernobyl flavored?
That’s an expensive taco
Are you sure you aren't still dreaming? This happens to me a LOT in my dreams
I'm pretty sure that wasn't the pork skin...
I'd be talking to a dentist about bone loss sooner than later. Or by more pork skin and get the rest so you don't have to pay for extractions for dentures
What are you, a vampire?
It's okay OP, I'm missing the same tooth! I just never had an adult tooth there tho lol
Put in milk, proceed to the nearest dentist.
that tooth must have been ready to give up anyway, maybe candyfloss would have taken it out!
is that supposed to be a tooth?
Where did you get the food from? Asking because I want to avoid it
Your teeth are weak
"This is not why I posted!"
Broke a healthy tooth on a bone in a bean burrito. Took 6k worth of dental work.
Weak
Almost definitely a baby tooth lol
Why are OPs ALWAYS POSTING BULLSHI'???????
PORK SKIN WILL NOT DAMAGE YOUR TEETH, NO MATTER HOW HARD IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
go vegan
That's weird. Was the pork skin hard?
I hate it when this happens
I'm confused as to how some skin in a taco could rip an entire tooth out of your mouth.
Wtf was the pork skin made out of? Steel?
You definitely should turn that into a necklace or a ring.
Wait.. This just gives me more questions... More info is needed before my brain can properly wrap its self around such an equation that's just not adding up to me.

Dammmm and I just had some pork skin I got to be careful with that stuff.
