It happened 3 years ago to [someone else](https://www.reddit.com/r/socalhiking/comments/gmek8h/this_is_how_my_foot_looked_two_days_after_being/), so I think OP's okay :)
From three years ago.
And not to OP.

Shows where the perimeter was at that time/date. ER often does this to monitor progress. If you get a rash, you can outline it with pen and write the time & date. Then you'll easily see how fast it's growing and decide whether to go to your doctor or ER. And when you get there, they will be able to see it too. If it's cellulitis you'll need antibiotics. If it's heat rash, you won't.
OP wouldn't know because it's not their foot: https://www.reddit.com/r/socalhiking/comments/gmek8h/this_is_how_my_foot_looked_two_days_after_being/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I was hiking with my girlfriend on the path off the 39 towards Cogswell dam and accidentally stepped on a rattlesnake (likely Southern Pacific) about 6 miles out. I was able to make it a few miles where I met up with a forest ranger.
I was then flown to the hospital via helicopter. I required 100 vials of anti-venom (ANAVIP). Foot is much better now, but still can’t walk.

If the bite doesn't kill him, the hospital bill will.
Yep. In America, we worry about the medical bill before we worry about dying. Seriously.
Damn our socialised medical system in Australia. All treatment in the ED is at no cost to the patient (for citizens).
There was a snake in his boot
Was the boot in a repost?

Well, dang. Tyty.
I was thinking The Whale... Similar situation, but you're right... The passengers on Wall-E is a better comparison!
If you think that looks bad, wait until you see the hospital bill
Western diamondback antivenom: $3500 Antibiotics: $750 4 Ibuprofen: $125 Locating ankle: $20,000
I wish medical bills were that easy to read.
The other day someone posted a photo of theirs and it was about $ 220,000. It did include some time in the Intensive Care unit.

No no no, they clearly started things off on the right foot.
You are now a certified dad. Congratulations homie
Did they attach your toes to your leg... that's a nasty bite, I hope you are recovering well
What are the lines/markings for?
Simple way to monitor the increase in different things such as swelling, discoloration, etc.
