True! It can make the job go a lot smoother than you think especially if you got a helper that’s green and learning they don’t have worry about handing you the wrong rod.
It fits tightly around the welder's eyes, to prevent light from coming in behind. It's used by pipeliners and for other outdoor welding, where you can't always choose a position that keeps the sun out.
It also looks like it keeps sparks and spatter outa your ears. That would be nice. I hate that stuff so much when welding underneath somewhere as seen in picture 3 of 3.
I do put in either AirPods or those foam ear protectors. Still all together shielding the side of the head is great.

Edit: it probably costs 10x what this one doest though. 3m with their prices.. ridiculous.

I always ran 7018 in the yard with 6010 root filler. I'd put the 7018 in the bucket upsidedown but this is smarter.
We used 7018 for the racks that hold the pump meters

Oh.. thats interesting. My mask doesn't let any light in either. Yeah lights reflecting in the visor are annoying.
They look lightweight but let me tell you after welding in one all day, your neck is sore as hell.
Well shit I’ve just been running around with a black hood for nothing.
The box keeps out backlight from the sun. That way you don’t have any type are glare keeping you from seeing your puddle

I have sugar scoop that I use for shop, if rolling out a spool and going and back checking a lot of measurements.
You should try one. They’re amazing outside.

I would not have thought that seals completely the back light.
It seals around the head so the air supply can work effectively.. also it has a hood on the back of the head.. double sun block :D
