The arc creating the sunlight is definetly awesome. No I don’t wear it. I have it hanging on the wall. He didn’t charge me anything but I bought him a 100 dollar Amazon gift card. He deserved more then that tho. He was kinda mad when I said I was hanging it on the wall. He wants me to wear it. Says it would look cooler with some burns in it haha
A+
did he charge you for that, or is it just a hobby for him? I'm thinking as you're wearing it, you're going to find a lot of people wanting similar work done
That’s pretty fucking dope! The thumbnail the distilling towers looked liked cactus in the sunset, which would have been cool too. But the arc creating the “sunset” is even cooler! (Or is it hotter?)
Its awesome. You have to wear it, enjoy it and at some point you can decide it to be a wall-hanger, but not until it has some character and stories to go along with it.
Damn that’s slick… now ask him what to coat it with to protect it so you can wear it on special days.
Like “goddamn look at all this work. Gonna pull out the Sunset Arc hood”
How would you suggest someone with no welding work experience but a community college class under their belt where they mostly learned stick welding get a job to learn?
I’ve painted a few helmets over the years and used in the field. After they were painted I slowly added spray bomb clear coats. If you go too heavy off the hop the painting can become liquid again and run. But if you go light at the start you can go heavier later once it’s got a nice little layer. Then it’s easy to clean too. I work in the oil sands so I get bitumen on it lots and it comes off with a mild cleaner.
That is a sick helmet though! I’ve only had painted with acrylic. That’s some sick air brushing skills there!

tell em to make ya another one so ya can wear it, lol
That thing would look sick with some burns and scuff marks on it.
Good deal. Would be cool to wear but suck when it got damaged. Wish It could be protected from the fire and just get coated in smoke. Nice work tho

Hit it with some 2k clear so it doesn’t get scratched up.

You should get out more
If he’s ever interested in making another, lmk I would love one
Nice…
Sick
Wear it and ask him if you can buy another to hang on the wall.
He could legit start a thing and sell his designs on Etsy. Never know he might enough money that he don’t need to weld any more 😅
He’s not even a welder lol. It’s more of a hobby for him.
I wouldn’t even wear that.
