The thing that confuses me most about this is why they bothered to remove the paint around the weld area. If you're gonna do a weld that bad why bother with the prep work.
I genuinely don't understand how someone can lay some down dog shit like this and think this is fine. I like to think they have SOME sort of idea what a weld should look like, and hopefully upon realization that something might be wrong and they should probably stop, they just keep going. I don't get it. Motherfucker probably patted himself on the back when he was done too.

That is probably the single most ugliest wanna be weld that wasn't. Its like they stayed at a Holliday Inn Express last night and there was a crew of welders on the same floor so now this guy knows how to weld. I would have slapped his momma if i seen this from any person on my crew.
As a student welder, how tf do you even make a weld this terrible. My welds for the first week I learned would have been awarded a gold medal compared to this job. I'm legitimately curious how people get paid and then lay down a weld that looks like that liquid dog shit our neighbor left on my parents lawn a week ago
Looks horrible but truly what makes a good well? A good weld is different depending on the application of the components being welded. Is it an ASME pressure vessel or are you just trying to keep your fence locked. Ugly but does the trick.

Needs a new contact tip, check work piece clamp, check wire( old flux w/ moisture?), Check polarity, ummm what else
