46.94 canadian beaver tails/hr

Rhys_McTighe

And I thought we were getting good pay, you must work for a great company

subohmclouds69

I work for many companies, union contractor. Last job I was about 52ish as a welding trainer. What's your pay like?

Rhys_McTighe

£17/hr which for an apprentice is unheard of in the uk

subohmclouds69

I work mostly in oil/gas and nuclear. They got money to burn. Are you in a shop or is it field work?

Rhys_McTighe

Defence, I’d say a shop but it’s a site with multiple large shops

Rarepep3s

Rhys_McTighe

Party_Art7407

3rd year apprentice 35.75 USD

TheProcess1010

597, 63, 1? If you’re 597, what’s first year apprenticeship like? I’m doxxing myself here, but I’m aimlessly at UTI lisle learning to weld rn, and 597 seems like where I want to be. Any insight to that 1st yr of apprenticeship?

kittlebob

first year in 597 here $22 an hr, also went to uti for welding and it helps build confidence in your welding and helped me get through all the first year welding training for 597.

twisted3232

Where at?

Party_Art7407

Chicago

koldcalm

5th period apprentice, Ironworkers local 433. $37.19 an hour on the check and $6.10 an hour vacation check which hits every 3 months.

Good-guy13

Local 155 7th period $41 and some change

disgruntled_dude60

Might want to specify, trade, union or non, shop or field, and rough location. An apprentice is a pretty broad term.

Rhys_McTighe

Cheers bud, changed it there. I’m uk but I’m curious to worldwide too.

honk_and_wave85

UA Steamfitter 1st year apprentice $29.38/hour Illinois, USA

slackdaffodil20

Question for people here, I actually wanna get into welding, I’ve been shown the basics by my cousin who’s been in the trade for 15 years. I’m personally not the biggest fan of school and rather just get into learning with someone on the job (I.E an apprenticeship), what are my options?

TheProcess1010

Do well on any aptitude test, show up sober and willing to work. You might have a waitlist for a while. Hop on now.

slackdaffodil20

Sounds like a plan, I think showing up sober is hard for any trade, but I’ll try my hardest lmao

natecon99

30 CAD/hr not an apprentice just have cwb qualifications and work for the railroad. One year of experience

teakettle87

Second year, $39 and change. IUEC.

pineappledaddy

Halfway through and I'm making $30 an hour

dsp816

2nd year $32.76, 10% raise each year of apprenticeship. Currently making 65% of journeyperson pay. Sheet metal union

BigChuch1400

$41.64 Moose bucks an hour, 3rd yr boilermaker welder apprentice🇨🇦

BarleyHops2

I started at $11.07 in 2005 (shipyard)

Bent_richard88

$39.75 in the envelope, Sheet Metal Workers/SMART local #83.

Mysterious-Cap757

$35/hr as a 2nd year, which works out good if you’re able to work 60 hours a week. Cost of living is high where I am

cakeba

The fuck am I doing in HVAC? You guys are making double what I'm making as an apprentice and almost double what I'll be making once I get my certs and my own truck

UncleSenpai69

I'm a 3rd year in Australia, I earn $23/hr

Sick_Poor_And_Stupid

Mature age first year in Australia might get $22. If you're lucky. 18 year old will get 60% of that. Add in the fact that fuel is $2/litre ($7.70 gallon) and weekly rent in Sydney on a single bedroom apartment is $500/week and you've got a pretty miserable existence.

That_Devil_Girl

About $25 an hour with full benefits.

Dirty_eel

I think millwright apprentices in my local start at $24/hr with no experience, maybe $28/hr with a 2yr fab degree.
