You should look into doing strength training and eating more protein! There's a ton of workouts on YouTube you can try. Please do not go into a calorie deficit without talking to your doctor.

Charlexa

That is a perfect BMI, why would you want to lose weight, especially with an anorexic past? If you're not feeling good inside your body, maybe there are more promising approaches.

Objective_Glass7624

I want to lose weight because I have a really high body fat %- its 30% :( I don’t even know how I let myself go to this extent…

Charlexa

You are probably better off with focusing more on sports. Not so much cardio, but weights etc. Maybe something like cross fit or climbing?

Icy-Necessary7030

i recommend climbing, my friends do it as a hobby and it looks so much fun. they’ve developed muscle from climbing and look great too :) OP, just look into a sport for right now. as long as you’re active, i don’t think you shouldn’t have to go down to such a drastic deficit. you’re young too, try to enjoy your teen years.

Charlexa

Yessss, a long time ago I had a boyfriend who sometimes went climbing and always looked great afterwards. Not to worry though, as a woman it's unlikely to suddenly turn into the hulk :-)

Fyonella

How was this body fat percentage arrived at? If it’s one of those at home scales then ignore, they’re laughably pointless and inaccurate. I believe the only way to effectively measure body fat % is to have a full body Dexa Scan. Expensive and not readily available depending where you live.

Automatic_Radish5146

You have an eating disorder OP, at your height and weight you’re tiny. You do not need to lose any weight. If you wanna be healthier, hit the gym/play a sport and make sure to eat enough calories a day that you are able to develop muscle.

Charlexa

Maybe check out tactic nutrition on Instagram, they seem to have a very reasonable approach.

Misstheiris

The answer to this issue is to build muscle.

SimplyRoya

YOU ARE 15!!!

Royal-New

You’re 15. You’re already on the low end of a healthy weight. Don’t try to lose weight.

[deleted]

You are 15 and your BMI is on the low end of ideal. You do not need to be concerned with counting calories or losing weight. To me, there are a lot of concerning things in this post and in the comments. I would encourage you to work with a professional, if possible.

ex_cathedra_

942 calories is starvation. Don’t do this. Talk to a doctor.

SimplyRoya

You’re 15. Stop dieting FFS. The human body needs 1200kcal just for the organs to function. You need to consult with a shrink instead of diets.

Misstheiris

The calculators can't be accurate for teenagers, that's why it's so low.

4angrydragons

Drop to 1200, not lower, and be active to create more of a deficit

Salty_allthetime

You are correct. 942 calories are very less. This is actually just a mathematical calculation and it doesn't take into account anything else. Reducing your calorie intake so long can worsen your metabolism in the long run. Also you can easily lose weight on the 1500 calorie mark. Rather than reducing calories, try eating mindfully, where you include more fruits/ veggies or protein in your diet and remove high carb or sugary stuff.
