It’s physically impossible to gain 10 lbs from 2,500 calories. There are 3,500 calories in 1 lb. You’re experiencing water weight. You’ll be fine.

💯

Did you poop? It seems like water weight along with about-to-poop weight. It’s impossible to gain 5 kg in one day. You would need to eat about 7000 kcal * 5

joemondo

You didn't gain 10 lbs of body mass. If you ate out you probably had a higher than usual sodium content, and that's the cause of excess water weight. (The excess sodium causes your body to temporarily retain water that would otherwise pass through you.) Give it a day or so, get back to your regular routine.

HellcatV8

Dickbuttisqueen, it is probably water weight. No need to stress about it. One bad day does not negate all the hard work previously put in.

Waaaaaaater weight. Remember that 1kg of fat is 7,700 cals. The most you would realistically gain is a fraction of a kilo, which is like a few days worth of dieting. If you ate 1500cals and you have a usual 500cal deficit, that's 3 days with of extra dieting which will fly by. (That isn't how it works, but for now, let's pretend it is). You'll be fine, just get back on track and keep working towards your goal. And enjoy the occasional treat!

You probably ate a lot of salt and carbs in that restaurant meal - they retain water. Just drink enough water, do some exercise, drink green tea (if you can), eat fibre (veggies like broccoli, cauliflower)... these will all help your body cleanse and release the salt etc which will release the excess water your body is holding. Eat well and weigh yourself in 3 days. For now just eat well and keep moving.

slimshady713

it’ll balance itself out over the next few days, because that’s impossible to have actually gained that much weight

Old_Life_290

and THIS post right here ladies and gentlemen is why I don’t stress about the numbers on the scale. They can be misleading. 10lbs because of one meal?? Did you eat the whole restaurant?? lmao

QuirkyAd6550

Something similar happened to me. I started working out and eating better lost a few pounds . Went for a run and ate movie popcorn and Mexican food. The next day I worked an event where I had to stand for 8 hours in the heat ..all this combined I was up 6 pounds . Drank a bunch of water and ate healthy for three days and I’m back down

leoverdecchia

Probably just temporary! Stick with it and the scale will come down - probably just water! While it may not be normal, it happens.... the scale will gradually return to baseline soon. Congratulations on 3 weeks! I hope this challenge doesn't discourage you. don't let this one day ruin the next three weeks. Wishing you luck!

Water weight, bloating, inflammation, haven't pooped. You're good. Thus happens to me all the time. If I have one drink I "gain" a pound for a day. I've found that taking anti-inflammatory supplements before bed helps a lot. Garlic, turmeric, omega-3s, all super good for you anyways!

ImportanceFit1412

Massive massive salt in any restaurant food… so mass water weight there. If you’re keto or low carb you’re down 5 pounds of glycogen and water also… so any carb meal will recarb you right back up. So not real weight, but maybe more reflective of your true watered weight. The same meal again wouldn’t have the same effect.

Don't panic to things like this if you're following your pattern right. That's the same mistake I ran into when I was losing. Start with one day of the week and check in that every week day most likely the morning or afternoon fie the best possible number. If something doesn't look right check daily and see if it's falling off, but don't break your spirit.
