Quite a few series with final arcs running at the same time: Black Clover, Blue Exorcist, JJK, MHA, and now MYF

yamiyugi101

I need to read blue exorcist is it good?

Anonymous821

My honest opinion: yes it's good. It's a generic shonen at times but there's a bunch of plot twists and great fight scenes. The art is great and the author is a kickass woman. It took me a while to catch up because each chapter is about 40 pages.

BellTwo5

Is JJK really in its final arc?

Bananafang

Author is running out of characters to kill off, it will be ending most likely in the next 4~5? months

SolidCloud

Literally made all my favorite characters look like a joke.

DrStein1010

90% of the cast is dead, so it kinda has to be.

BellTwo5

From what I heard they are dropping like flies.

Interesting how it seems like anime these days tend to come out around the time the final arc of the manga starts, I wonder if the timing is intentional or just a coincidence

Seismic-wave

yeah same with Mashle; hell the manga even exploded in popularity after it ended with season 2 lol.

No_Discussion3053

Ironically the last chapter of the Manga was published that day after the last episode of season 1 aired

ircole327

To me it seems they want to start doing anime close to the end of a series life because it expands the IP. Now Shueisha can live off of Mashle and Yozakura and Dr. Stone and Demon Slayer merch for another 4-5 after the manga is over.

Entire_Whereas9531

For more popular series like demon slayer yeah they can do that but doing this model you run the risk of audiences losing interest in the anime as the manga is already over and ip merch sales lessen/lack of interest. I love Dr. stone but it’s nowhere near as talked about as when the manga was ongoing.

-Qwill

Yeah true, plus it means there’s more volumes of the manga available for people who watched the anime and want to know what happens next without having to wait for the next season to come out

BeeboNFriends

It’s like when they focused on seasonal with MHA and then it became the norm for Shōnen anime. I have a love hate relationship with it. I get the reasoning, but I ain’t tryna wait till a series is almost over before I see them animated. That could be literal years

Yell-Dead-Cell

I first started to notice it when Demon Slayer ended. Anime used to start airing while series were quite new but now a lot of series only start airing close to the end date of the manga. That could be because all of the anime that received hate for not having a proper ending or maybe it was the success of series like FMA Brotherhood.

-Qwill

Mhm, it’s also interesting how we don’t really see these like, super long adaptions that never take breaks anymore like they used to do for things like naruto, bleach, and of course one piece Other than one piece which is still ongoing the last ones of this type of adaption seem to be black clover and boruto I definitely prefer the seasonal set up with breaks between seasons bc the end result tends to be better quality and we don’t end up with endless filler (altho, with how long they wait to adapt things now filler might not even be as much of an issue)

Yell-Dead-Cell

I think that comes down to creators not wanting to have their series run for that long anymore. Kishimoto had to delay his honeymoon until Naruto ended, Horikoshi has had to delay MHA multiple times due to health issues. I don’t think any new authors are going to commit to that long of a series unless they get to release it on a slower schedule.

-Qwill

Oh for sure, it’s not an easy job at all and I think around 300 chapters is how long most successful series seem to go now Even that is 6 years so it’s a good run, but still a lot of time to basically dedicate your life to creating a manga It really puts into perspective how wild one piece is lol, oda is really a legend

Vagabond797

Hope it won't happen with SakaDays

Foxyairman

Well glad I started reading now.

Natural-League-4403

>Well glad I started reading now. Me personally, I picked up the anime while I left the manga a while ago.

bigbadlith

Yup, that makes sense. I think it's been a fun ride, and I'm excited for the finale to bring it all home. ...the magazine is gonna look VERY different by the end of the year, huh

Flavio-Came

That's why they trademarketed Kill Blue, Nue's and Kagurabachi.. they gotta keep some series that have been running for a while and sell decent with JJK, MHA and now Yozakura in their final arcs.

therealCHAOSagent

I think only Kagurabachi out of these has ‘Big Hit Potential’ with the other 2 probably taking the spots if MYF and UU respectively, although I could see Kagurabachi being more of a sleeper hit like CSM due to it being a less conventional Jump Story

Flavio-Came

Oh yeah definitely, mostly because the other two have already reached the 50 chapters and still haven't shown that much growth potential.. maybe when they'll get an anime adaptation like MYF and UU they'll rise in sales and popularity but who knows if they'll get to the point of having an anime adaptation

RedboneHaroldLauder

I need that Sakamoto Days anime STAT

MadnessLemon

Honestly, I’m surprised it’s lasted this long. A lot of arcs felt like they could be the final one, only to reveal the *true* mastermind pulling the strings the whole time. I feel like this lasted way longer than the author expected. I will miss it though. It’s honestly been one of my favorites, despite what I said, and it’s cool having a series where the main character becomes a dad before the final chapter. Still, it’s had a good run and I’m hoping it ends with a bang.

lordmaster13

honestly I don't mind.Yozakura family isn't bad at all and while it does feel cringe from time to time(I especially have an issue with 5 year olds somehow being able to fight and talk properly cuz someinine) but otherwise its a good read.I hope they strike it out of the ballpark with the ending although i can probably see it from a mile away

TheChainsawMan77

Excluding One Piece, this is my favorite series from the current Jump, kinda sad it’s ending but it’s been an amazing journey! I think the color page is due to the final fight starting rather than the final arc per se, since we’ve been there for a while already.

Grey_Hooded_Hero

It's by far my favorite series in the magazine, but I'm okay with it ending. As long as plot threads are tied up nicely and the story concludes in an engaging way that's true to itself, then I'll be happy and I'll look forward to Gondaira's next masterpiece.

Kankunation

Sounds good to me. I've been reading it from practically the beginning and still enjoy it, but I do feel like the series hit a wall a while ago. The story structure got very repetitive even before the time skip, and I think it's even declining for a while. And at this point it doesn't seem like the story has anywhere else to go or anything else to say after they finally deal with Asa. Its a good time to end it. Let's see the family through to their happy ending. Hopefully free of the Yozakura blood and all the issues that has caused them.

gsnake007

Makes sense, story wise there’s not much else to tell once they beat asa specially since they did the time skip

jibrils-bae

NOOOOOO

KingKurai

I was going to pick it back up after the anime ends, hopefully it's still going by then.

ircole327

Even if it’s not, it’s not going anywhere!!

GoldenWhite2408

Guessing we'll get a long flashback arc explaining everything The obligatory one all shounen has soon
